?Katie is the best! Seriously. We absolutely loved our experience with her and believe having her as our doula made bringing our son into this world the joyous, positive, stress-free and beautiful experience that is was. Katie is a wealth of knowledge, genuine, warm, kind, funny and has a very calming energy. She listened, asked questions to learn what type of birth we wanted & what was important to us without imparting her own opinions and was there to advocate for us at the hospital to ensure the day went as we had ultimately hoped. She was extremely helpful in the preparation for the birth and we learned a lot in her classes.

Being pregnant for the first time, I was open to having a natural birth or an epidural and wanted to make the decision based on how I was feeling in the moment. I felt supported completely by Katie and my husband and with their help, I was able to delivery naturally (much to my surprise!) I don't think I could have done it without Katie's help though as she helped me remain calm, confident, breathe through the contractions, massage my back and help me find comfortable positions to help me progress. She was also there for my husband, which was super helpful. He took comfort having her there as well and felt he could better support me because she was there leading the way & he trusted her. She worked very well with the nurses and doctors, too!

I felt 100% comfortable with Katie and found her energy & spirit to be that of a close friend - someone I trusted to help me through the most important and special moment of my life. Ultimately, she helped bring my healthy son into this world and I will forever be grateful to her! If that wasn't enough, she is also a very talented photographer and captured beautiful birth photos that we will always cherish. I would recommend Katie to anyone looking for a wonderful doula who goes above and beyond and genuinely loves births & cares deeply about her clients.

New to the city with no family in the immediate area, we knew we wanted to hire a doula, but were hesitant after interviewing several who had distinct styles and philosophies on birthing. From the get-go, Katie delighted us with her parent-centered, team-minded, and non-judgmental style. Her knowledge and expertise, with her personal, customized approach got us prepared as best we could prior to labor. In the delivery room, her keen intuition and strong advocacy for our birth plan was key in getting us through the birth of our first child. Her preparation and calming presence was instrumental in such a positive experience, and my husband and I loved that we all felt a genuine sense of significant accomplishment as a team.

There are many memorable experiences with Katie as our doula. A few notable ones include her ability to set boundaries with overly assertive nurses and advocating my wishes to the medical team during high stress moments. While mom and baby is important, she never forgot about dad in the entire process. Post-birth, she was a wealth of information as we struggled through feeding, and provided doctors and specialists in her network who we were successfully able to resolve the issues.

We have learned so much from her through the birth of our first child and we would not hesitate to have her again as part of our team in the future!

Where do I start?! Choosing to work with Katie as our doula and birth coach was hands down the BEST decision my husband and I made in preparation for our daughter‘s birth. Katie is well informed, professional, personable, funny, and kind. She was the perfect teacher and tailored birth classes to our specific needs.

She was an amazing advocate for both myself and my husband when it came to birthing our daughter. In all honesty, she is worth her weight in gold. She was by my side supporting, feeding, brainstorming, and advocating for me literally every minute of my birth. I had back labor and she worked tirelessly to help shift the baby to alleviate pain. I would wage that she actually knew more about child birth and comfort measures than some of the medical professionals at our birth (who were also wonderful). My husband and I have talked many times since my daughter‘s birth about how amazing Katie was and how lucky we were to have her.

Katie goes above and beyond what I ever would have expected and is truely passionate about the beauty of birth and that passion shows! Additionally, she is also an amazing photographer and we cherish the photos she took of our baby as well as us. I have told many people that if I had it to do again, I would give up every other person (including my husband) to have Katie by my side supporting me.

Do yourself a favor and select her as your doula...unless I happen to be pregnant again and we are due around the same time, then I call dibs ??.

Katie was more than we could have ever hoped for. From the moment we met her, we knew she was the right fit. She has such a warm personality that we knew would be perfect for the whole process. She will guide you in areas where you are unsure but is very willing to be flexible and create a birth plan that will fit all your needs. She went above and beyond for the labor and she was there for us every step of the way. Having a doula was a great decision and Katie was amazing. We could not have done this without her. We will be using Katie for our next baby and could not recommend her more.

From the moment my husband and I met with Katie in a Starbucks to interview her, we knew that she was the doula we wanted with us during the birth of our first child.  Katie is extremely knowledgable and has such a calming presence.  We used Katie for our pre-birhting classes which were extremely informative and fun.  When my labor started, Katie was ready to go.  She met us at the hospital and stayed with us for the entire 31 hour labor.  She had so many wonderful ideas and was able to show my husband how to help me during the long process. Katie knew exactly what I needed at every moment and never left my side.  When difficult decisions arrose, Katie helped us talk through them.  She really worked well with our doctor and all of the labor and delivery nurses.  The pictures that she took of our first moments with our son are truly amazing and a bonus!  We will definitely use Katie again for our next birth!

Katie was quite a blessing to out birthing process. She helped my husband to feel comfortable as my birthing partner and helped us when  we’re unsure how to help ourselves. At first I thought Doula’s were for people who wanted a home birth and since I was open to medication should I want it I didnt think a Doula would be comfortable assisting. Katie was supportive of all my birthing decisions and made me feel conf in my choices. She was beyond helpful in navigating our first birth and a joy in to work with. On top of everything she snapped some of the most beautiful birth pictures that I will cherish for ever.  She is a genuinely kind and caring person who loves helping women And their partners have the best birthing experience possible. When it’s time for baby numbe two she will be one of the first people to call. To Anyone looking for a Doula, I would highly encourage you to give her a call and see what she has to say. You won’t regret it!

Katie Contos was great! She was there for us throughout our entire pregnancy. She didn't work with us through some set of rules but was adaptable and worked directly with our personal needs. She also was willing to be a true friend to my wife and I. This was super great as the one helping you out during such an important part of your life should be someone you can trust and call a good friend. I would highly recommend Katie to anyone looking for an amazing Doula to help them through their pregnancy.

Katie was a delight to work with, from our initial interview through our postpartum appointment.  She is very knowledgable, and and did a great job of anticipating issues and preparing us before things came up. She explained things in a very relatable way, making us more comfortable with everything we talked about. Our birth ended up being our worst case scenario with an emergency c-section, and Katie was there the whole time, supporting us and keeping us calm.  She walked the halls at the hospital with me for hours durings contractions, which gave my husband a chance to rest.  She is very professional, but felt more like having a friend with me during delivery.  She was also wonderful at preparing us for bringing a newborn home.  I felt like I could ask her any question about nursing or infant care and she was right there with a thoughtful answer. And she took some amazing photos of us and our baby in the hospital!  I would whole heartedly recommend hiring Katie.

We loved Katie's support during our birth process. She was always kind, attentive, cheerful and supportive. She was very present and a calming presence during labor and birth (free-standing birth center birth), giving encouragement and helping me through my contractions, through words, her presence, and amazing hip squeezes that helped relieve so much pressure through the painful contractions! My husband also felt so much more supported and encouraged with her with us. She is enthusiastic and dedicated to the education, care of mommas (and their families), and the birth process and her passion for it shines through! We didn't have a doula with our first, and having Katie with our second gave us so much of a better birth experience and memory. She also took beautiful pictures from the birth that we love so much! We are so happy that Katie chose to be our doula and we wouldn't have had it any other way.

I don’t know what I would have done without Katie! She was my rock through a very difficult pregnancy and delivery. She met with me and my husband to initially discuss if we were a good fit. She gave me lots of great videos to watch, exercises to practice and a brief class on labor and delivery. I had to do a natural labor and was so worried, but I felt at ease after all the tools she gave me. I had prodromal labor and went in at 36 weeks with what everyone thought was labor. I was in Labor and Delivery three different times and Katie offered to come in every time as support.

The last two times I asked her to come in and she was there within an hour even though it was about midnight. She helped me stay calm, brought snacks, and I was able to relax and focus on breathing through the pain. I had to go home twice with morphine to help with the pain and she was there to help me with any questions. With prodromal labor, I never knew when to go in and it was nice to be able to text her and ask questions. When labor finally hit she was there the whole time. Reminding me of the things we practiced, telling my husband when he should stop talking (he jokes when he’s nervous), and helped me stay calm and not have a panic attack. She is honestly an incredible doula and person all around. I’m sad I moved and wont get to see her and her sweet little girl around town.
