SO glad I had a doula, especially Katie! My pregnancy was anything but easy by the end. We were at the hospital 2 times before my little one was born, one of those times Katie came to the hospital and walked around with us to try and get labor going at 2 am! She was such a light during labor and kept my mind at ease as the day progressed. I had to be induced, which later we found out was because my kiddo was almost 11 lbs and never truly dropped. She continued to keep me calm throughout the day as labor progressed. I chose to get an epidural half way through, which only worked some of the time. When it wasn't working (depending on what side I was laying on) Katie would either hold my hand and breathe with me, or rub my back through the contraction. She was, seriously, AMAZING. She kept me centered and also my husband, who was having a hard time seeing me in pain.

After 12 hours my midwife called the surgeon and I ended up having to have a C-section, which Katie knew I didn't want but she reminded me that this was okay and I worked so hard either way! She was such a blessing to have in the room on such an important day. I'm so thankful that she was my doula!
