Having Ginger on our birth team was the best decision my husband and I made for the birth of our first little one. From our very first conversation, I knew Ginger could bring the right energy and openness I was looking to have by my side. When my hubby, who is not at all "crunchy", also really liked her, we knew she would be the best person to have guiding and supporting us.

Ginger is down to earth, funny, kind, and completely non-judgmental. As new parents-to-be we had no idea what really to expect from labor and delivery, outside of what is shown on tv. She helped us learn what REALLY to expect and how to create our birth plan. She explained what all the interventions could be and when they are really required. She helped guide me into seeing how labor doesn't have to be scary.

When my water broke (three weeks early), Ginger came over quickly and stayed with us throughout the next 25 hours before our daughter arrived. She was a calm that kept us grounded. We shared a lot of laughs, walked around Target to progress the labor, talked through my fears and concerns, and then moved through the heightening pain of labor together. I never felt alone. Ginger provided both my husband and me the guidance and openness we needed to create our ideal birth experience. She also created relationships with the hospital staff to create a supportive team for us. I could not have asked for more.

Yet, Ginger gave more still. She took photos on my phone of the labor and first precious moments of our new family's life together. She stayed to welcome us into parenthood and make sure we were okay. Once rested a few days later, she come back to our home and checked in again.

I know that without Ginger our birth story would be a very different story. Labor is still labor, but the amount of calm, joy, and support that we shared came from having Ginger supporting us before, during, and after. I recommend her doula services wholeheartedly.

Ginger is one of the most sincere, amazing people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I was planning on having a full term pregnancy and natural birth. Equipped with lessons learned from a hypnobirthing class, my husband and I thought we were covered. Unfortunately my water broke at 35 weeks, and we hadn't even finished our class. My teacher put out feelers for a last minute doula to help us. Ginger responded, and we met her on the side of the highway less than an hour later at 8pm. She was full of reassurances and exuded a calmness that helped ground me. When we got to the hospital though we heard the worst news we could have expected. My baby was breech, and all my amniotic fluid was gone. They had to do an emergency C-section. I would have panicked without Ginger there helping us get through all the questions and paper work. She insisted on being in the OR with me while my husband went with the baby. It was one of the scariest hours of my life, and Ginger stayed with me the whole time: distracting and calming me. I put all my trust in a complete stranger, and it paid off. I only wish I could have had the full doula experience with her. Afterwards, she checked on us often, making sure we were taken care of. We couldn't have made a better choice even if we'd researched doulas.
