I'm about 11 months late in writing this, but I'd recommend Nancy to anyone who will listen.
I honestly don't want to think about how my son's birth would have gone without Nancy. I went into labor at 5am on a Thursday and gave birth at 11am the next day. Nancy stayed with me the entire time, distracting me when I needed it, and keeping me focused & asking the right questions at the right time.
Nancy advocated for me, but also pushed me to advocate for myself - something I cannot thank her enough for. Thanks to Nancy, giving birth was an empowering experience.
If and when we decide to have another baby, Nancy will be one of the first people I call.
We chose Nancy as our doula for our third pregnancy and birth. I have a hard time putting words to how much I respect and admire such an incredible woman, doula and friend.
We had an opportunity to meet with her early on in our pregnancy and instantly knew she would be a perfect fit for our family. While being incredibly professional youre able to see her heart and passion for what she does. Our meetings with her before birth were so enjoyable. She always took her time in asking questions and finding out what our ideal birth plan was. Incredibly knowledgeable in her field and always able to give great information or advice.
When we got near the end of our pregnancy and reached the on call point she was always available and quick to answer! She went as far as staying in town for her birthday just in case. She sacrifices and really cares about every client and every birth!
A blizzard was hitting Minnesota when we went into labor but she drove through it to make it to our birth and maDe it on time! She provided support, wisdom, pain relief, humor, encouragement, love and so much more during delivery. By our side for 11 1/2 hours without faltering and doing whatever she could to be there for us. She has an incredible ability to be patient through any circumstance and always knows the right thing to say. I never felt like she stepped over any line and I am still so thankful for her.
Our postpartum visit was great as well and getting to see her again was amazing. We consider her and Her family friends of our family now. She has been such a blessing to us!
I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone I know thats Pregnant!!!
Nancy is the most calm caring individual ever!! It was so perfect having her at our home birth, talking me through every emotion, every contraction putting my mind at ease when I was frustrated or scared. Her calming presence simply changed my mindset during labor. Her wisdom with having multiple kids helped me transition from one to two babies as well! She is so knowledgeable and a woman of God it was so refreshing to have her help me through labor and postpartum emotions!
First, let me start with the fact that I cannot say enough wonderful things about Nancy being our doula. We came into the game a little late as my wife was already 8-1/2 months pregnant, but I did some research and found Nancy on doula match I reached out to her and we had a meet and greet two days later. Needless to say, we chose have Nancy with us from there on out immediately. I have to say I personally was not sold on having a doula for the birth of our first child, but once the actual birthing process started I couldn’t have been more thankful to have you by not only my wife’s side but mine. Nancy was AWESOME, there are to many intangibles that you just don’t think of until after your child has been born, and for me that was having Nancy there to not only tell my wife she was doing great and exactly what she was supposed to but also to remind me to breathe and not pass out. As a new father I cannot recommend Nancy enough for the things that she does for you, like pictures during the post labor process when the only thing you can think of is staring blankly at your wife and child wondering how you got here but also after the fact when you call asking her what your room number was so you can put it in your baby book, because you just can’t remember, then showing you how to swaddle (lifesaver) and the texts just seeing how you’re doing, also breast-feeding tips tricks. Thank you, Nancy, if we have another baby we’d want no one else by our side during the whole process. We’ll make sure to call you sooner next time. Yours truly first time Dad.
I cannot imagine my birth experience without Nancy. Nancy was referred to me through my chiropractor, and after our first interview, I knew she was a perfect fit. As a first time mom, her kind and gentle spirit immediately put me at ease. I sensed right away that the special kind of care that only doulas can provide came completely naturally to Nancy. Knowing she would be present at my birth gave me an extra layer of confidence to achieve my goal of a natural birth. I learned during our interview that Nancy was a sister in Christ, and knowing we shared a common faith was icing on the cake. I had an unusually long and hard labor that lasted for days, and Nancy was not only available at all hours of the day and night to respond to questions and concerns, but she proactively checked in on me and always had the right words of support and encouragement. Her care and friendship throughout my labor was undoubtedly a key factor in our success. Nancy is gifted in every way to be a doula and my level of recommendation couldn't be any higher.
Nancy came highly recommended to us by several people we know. We were so pleased that she was available to attend our homebirth! Her calm and compassionate nature shine even in the most challenging moments of child birth. When I was ready to give up, Nancy lifted me up spiritually, and was the perfect missing piece to our birth team.
I have birth 7/31/16. Nancy met with me a couple times prior to my due date. We talked about my birth plan and she was 100% supportive of my choices! She would text me to check in until I went into labor. She was very encouraging while I was labor. Eventually when I changed my mind on wanting an epidural she encouraged me to do what I thought I needed to do. She reminded me how far I came and how well I managed my pain. She was very supportive to my SO and helped him to help me. After delivery, she came to the hospital (after working an over night shift too!) and helped me breast feed and taught me better feeding positions. After discharge she came to my home and checked on us also. She was always available for questions about labor and breastfeeding as I was post partum. It was so helpful having someone knowledgeable to lean on leading up to labor and in those first couple weeks after birth. I'm 100% sure if I had a question about my infant now she would help me out. She's amazing
Nancy Hass was our doula for our first born son born in June of last year. She was an incredible help in so many ways. We are so thankful for her constant support of our choices in the birth, her valuable knowledge on care during pregnancy and after the baby was born, and her calm and steady demeanor throughout. She was always early to every appointment and incredibly communicative throughout the whole process. She provided books and resources for us to borrow during the pregnancy to learn and grow in our knowledge of the role of the birth partner, birth testimonials, as well as movement and Spinning babies techniques. During the birth, she was an integral role in my calm, focused and joyful experience. She walked me through each contraction, encouraging me and keeping me grounded in truth. We loved our experience so much that we are having her for the birth of our 2nd child this spring. We highly recommend Nancy! You will be incredibly thankful to have her on your birth team!
I was determined to have a VBAC with the birth of my daughter in October 2015. I started my journey alone, in a new location, and with minimal support.
After my second prenatal appointment, I was in tears and seeking support in the birth I wanted. I was doing research and thought a doula would be ideal especially in my situation. My request was fulfilled promptly with a call from Nancy Hass.
I remember the first time we met, at the coffee shop. She was very easy to talk to. She instantly put me at ease. We talked for a hour or so about my plans, vbacs and just life in general. I left our meeting with knowledge, hope and confidence.
Over the following months we met up and talked about appointments, she provided me with helpful links, and good conversation. She attended a couple prenatal appointments with me as well.
Throughout my journey to be a VBAC mama, I ended up switching care THREE times! Nancy stuck with me and helped to keep my stress down. Even towards the end when my midwife told me she could no longer have me as a patient at 37 weeks! I switched care at 38 weeks. Met with the wonderful team of Midwives who were willing to take me on. That night, I went into labor!
No one was expecting this, Nancy, my midwife, me! I called Nancy that night and she was up north on a family vacation. Our convo went something like no way, you're 2 weeks out. We exchanged a few texts, as it was late at night. She gave me a few pointers and said she would leave first thing in the morning.
I ended up being admitted around 7:30am. My labor was long and hard, 26hrs total. Nancy showed up when ready to push. She was able to be by my side, providing encouragment.
I got my unmedicated VBAC... Nancy got to see her first VBAC success!
Nancy was my Doula for the birth of my second child. We were actually her very first clients. She met with us before the birth to find out what type of care we were seeking out. When I started feeling contractions, she was there on the phone to encourage me and to suggest other things to continue my contractions. She was such a calming presence at the birth. She helped me tremendously through my horrible back labor, and encouraged me when I felt like I couldn't do anymore. She stayed after the birth to take some pictures, and took care of me and my husband. She checked in multiple times postpartum as well. She offered to come over and help me when my husband had to go back to work. She was born to be a Doula. We have no doubts that she will bless the lives of anyone who she works with :)
