My husband and I met with Rachael when I was only maybe a couple of months pregnant, and we loved her instantly and wanted to hire her. She was very informative, personable, you can tell she has her own strong opinions on birth, but she never tries to push her beliefs on you, it is all about the parents choice. Very professional.

She is a midwife and a doula, which we loved because we knew that she was even more knowlageable.

After I left my job there was no way a doula was in our budget, so we were unfortunately not able to hire her, but, even after I told her the news, she was very understanding and offered to be there as a friend if I had any questions or anything, of course I can’t be her number one priority, as I am not a client, but I loved how kind she was, and if we can afford to hire a doula with our next baby, I will most definitely call Rachael!

I’m not sure how much help this testemonial was, but I hope it helps someone choose her, because she is great at what she does!

Rachael was magnificent.  She was a great wealth of knowledge before labor and delivery.  She helped us make knowledgeable decisions based on research.  She gave great advice on documentaries, books, and websites to help us in making choices about labor and delivery and for the health of our son.

She was a great help in making my birth plan a success.  She created a calm environment and helped speed up the labor with several techniques.  She also was a great advocate during labor at the hospital, she was determined to make sure we had the best experience.  When the staff was going against what we wanted, she took charge.  Our birth plan was not what we wanted byt she did everrything in her control to get us what ww wanted.  If it wasn'the for Rachael, we would have missed out on special bonding and moments.

After, she informed us of important information for the health and wellness of the whole family.

She also documented everything that happened with times.  This was great for helping us know what and when things happened.  We also used her for photographers during labor and delivery and the fresh 48 and were nothe disappointed.

She is phenomenal and we would definitely use her again.

I loved having Rachael as my doula (and placenta encapsulator)!  I met her at a "Meet the Doulas" local event and I knew she was my person when she noticed I had a question and made sure I had a chance to ask it.  I needed someone attentive to my needs and to help me be assertive to make sure I got the pregnancy and birthing experience that I wanted.

Rachael was perfect for me and made sure that my husband was involved during my labor experience.  The encouragement she gave me was specific and helped me to continue to labor and push effectively.

She was an incredible resource of information regarding all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.  I appreciated that she was always available whenever I called, texted, or messaged her.  Probably one of my most favorite things that Rachael did was provide a timeline from my birthing experience.  I treasure it and still look over it months later.  I'm so glad she was supportive and attentive so that I could have captured memories from my experience.

I am now living in a different city and am sad I will not be able to work with Rachael for my next pregnancy and birth, but now have a high standard to hold other doulas to in the future.

I found Rachael right at the end of my pregnancy. Despite it being my second homebirth, I had a lot of anxiety about how things would go because I hadn't been in love with my first birth experience at all. Simply knowing Rachael would be there to support calmed me so much. From the moment I met Rachael, it was a great fit. Not only did we hold similar beliefs about the nature of birth, but she was a lot like an old friend. I appreciated that she listened to why I was seeking doula support and what I was hoping she would contribute to the birth. Even my usually very slow-to-warm, yet incredibly perceptive, 2 year old daughter immediately took to Rachael. That just doesn't normally happen for us! It was evident that Rachael not only likes children, but knows how to interact with them, too. It is priceless to have this type of person present if you have older children at your birth.

Unfortunately (fortunately?), the birth happened so quickly that Rachael was only there for about 10 minutes before our baby girl was born. This sounds odd, but that's exactly what I needed! Just through converstions with Rachael, I came to trust my body a whole lot more and therefore waited much longer to call anyone to the house. For my personality, it couldn't have been better. I labor far better without an audience. Yet, I could tell the moment she slipped into the room because I heard her soft voice once again encouraging me to trust my body. Perfect. After baby was in my arms, Rachael transitioned right to whatever post-birth support we needed - childcare, answering questions we had, getting me fed, etc. In the days, weeks, and now even months post partum Rachael has still been there. She's always a text away and ready to answer whatever odd question I have ("is it possible to let your placenta tincture steep too long?"). Even though I use midwives, I cannot explain how much calm I have gained knowing that I have a doula I can call/text with questions.

I liked Rachael right away. Something about her makes her feel like an old friend. She just feels trustworthy and is so easy to talk to. We clicked right away. Her prices are great and I really liked that I could text or message her anytime with all my questions or concerns. She is quite knowledgeable and you can tell she is VERY passionate about what she does. She is quite the birth junkie. She is very supportive in all types of births and is able to give you pros and cons for most things to help you make your own birth plan and decisions. She has a plethora of resources and knows where to guide you for additional support or answers. She really helped my husband get involved in this labor, which is just what we needed as a couple and a family. Makes me wish we would have had her the 1st time around, my dh slept through that labor. But this time he was very active and I think it was due to her support and having her there.
