Whether in hospital or a birth center my role is the same. I provide emotional and physical comfort to the mother and help with the partner's well being also.

Lesli is AMAZING!  She was present for the births of both our children, our son in 2014 and our daughter in 2017.  We were fortunate enough to get to experience Lesli's care in two very different roles.  She was working alongside the local midwives for the homebirth of our son and she was our doula for the birth of our daughter at a birthing center.  In both roles Lesli was professional, caring, incredibly thoughtful, considerate, loving, understanding and accepting.  She gave me strength and courage.  She always seemed to know when I and/or my partner needed support and when to give us space, without either of us saying a word.  That is so important!  It is impossible to know how you will feel when in labor (or as the partner of someone in labor!) and Lesli's ability to read the moment and know what is needed is truly a gift. My husband and I both have so much trust and respect for Lesli.  Her knowledge is extensive and it is evident. She worked beautifully and seemlessly alongside midwives both at home and in a birthing center.  She offers a sense of calm even in the intense moments of labor.  Lesli's care throughout the pregnancy, through labor and delivery, and after the new babe arrived was unmatched.  If we were to have another baby, Lesli would absolutely be there!

I wish I had more space to write about my birth experiences with Lesli in detail, but know this...you would be making a smart decision in choosing Lesli to be your doula.  You (and your partner, if applicable) will be able to rest assured that your wishes for labor and birth are being taken care of so you can just focus on each other and the beautiful being you are bringing into this world.  You will absolutely love her and find the support you need through the magical and transitional time that is pregnancy, labor and birth! Lesli is a joy.

Lesli was a phenomenal doula, throughout the pregnancy, labor, and post-partum period. She excelled at helping us to hone in on what we were most concerned about and finding solutions to confront those concerns. An extremely knowledgeable doula, she shared many resources with us to help us prepare for labor.

During the labor itself, she was a huge support—she maintained a calm, steady, presence and worked harmoniously with the midwife and hospital staff. We appreciated that Lesli was around and available during the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. The consistency of her support really boosted us—especially during the postpartum visits. Because she had witnessed the whole cycle, the support she provided was completely in line with what our family needed. We highly recommend Lesli as a doula—she pays attention to the details and took extremely good care of me/us all the way through.

Lesli was a student midwife during my pre and post natal care. She also attended the birth of my son. I have known her all my life and it was an amazing experience for me to have her present during this most important time. The care I received from Lesli was compassionate and professional and helped me to feel confident and empowered during both my pregnancy and birth. Her knowledge and love for what she does combined with an exceptional sense of humor made every visit we had a wonderful experience. Lesli's support during my pregnancy was exeptional and the post natal care I received from her allowed me the time I needed to heal both physically and emotionally. Lesli lovingly cared for me and my son so that I could focus all of my energy on him. This helped me to form an amazing bond and a healthy breastfeeding relationship. I will be forever greatful to Lesli for the outstanding care my son and I recieved from her.

Lesli is a kind, knowledgable doula who treated my husband and me with great respect and empathy. We hired Lesli in winter 2016 for the birth of our 1st baby in June. From our first conversation, Lesli listened to me and validated my vision for, as she put it, a natural birth in a hospital. I give her my highest recommendation.

During our meetings, she asked questions to understand the dynamic between my husband and me, reading that he was my primary source of support which meant she'd be there to help us both. Lesli also gave us information that my doctor didn't, treating my pregnancy as more than a medical event. She had materials to show us how big the baby was during his development, to demonstrate what happens during breastfeeding, and more. When my body changed in uncomfortable ways, like when I had low blood pressure during my 2nd trimester, the dr dismissed it as "normal" whereas Lesli explained WHY it happened and how I might alter my diet to help my body. She was always accessible (email, phone), and she had us over several times to talk and drink tea in her cozy home office. I could be myself around Lesli, and by June she knew my husband and I well enough to tend to our specific needs during the birth.

Unfortunately, my son was breech and I needed a C birth (as Lesli calls it) so I didn't have the natural birth I hoped for. Lesli helped me process the big change of plans and identified ways to make the C birth a good one (asking the dr for skin to skin, etc). She also supported our decision to call on her after the birth rather than have her attend the surgery. She came to see us in the hospital the day after birth and visited us at home the following week. Her postpartum care was amazing. She helped me process the birth and answered my questions about how my body and hormones were changing (and she is a great baby snuggler!). Her emotional support and knowledge were invaluable and helped make my pregnancy a wonderful experience.
