Kristen is an amazing doula! My husband and I can attest to Kristen's ability and knowledge. Her presence during the birth of our daughter was a tremendous help. This was our first pregnancy together and we both wanted to have an experienced and encouraging coach to help us along the way. In addition, I wanted to a natural childbirth. Kristen was helpful in educating us in what to expect in the weeks leading up to the birth, the childbirth process itself, and what to expect postpartum. Our daughter, Chloe, was born at the Shady Grove Hospital. And despite things not going as planned, I am so thankful to Kristen & the rest of my support team for helping me when I didn't believe I could go on. There is no way I couldv'e have done it without them. Kristen was very professional and nurturing throughout the labor and delivery. I found her coaching, and knowledge to be superior to my nurses & docs. I say that because in the last hours my baby was not coming down due to positioning. I was in so much pain and was ready to pop this baby out. I had an ultrasound a few weeks before and told Kristen about her position. She believed that due to bad positon baby was not able to come down. Kristen was quick to suggest laboring positions and to ask questions and make suggestions that were in my best interest. An hour & half later I was ready to push! Kristen helped us achieve our ideal labor and delivery. Chloe Grace was born naturally. Kristen was a great cheerleader in moments where I thought I would not be able to deliver the baby. She was also a huge help the days following my delivery. I had no idea how bad I would feel, and when I just needed to talk to someone to reassure that what I was experiencing was noraml, she was there. She continued to follow up with me until I was better. SHe also provided help with LC questions and helped me find a LC. I am so thankful that to Kristen!

She is awesome and we would highly recommend. Thanks so much Kristen!

Kristen was a huge asset at my birth. She brought an air of calm and relaxation into by birthing room and encouraged and supported me every step of the way. In particular, her massaging hands helped ease the pressure on my back and hips and made each pressure wave (contraction) so manageable. I was incredibly grateful for Kristen's support during my 24 labor and natural birth. I highly recommend her services to any mother considering using her as a doula.

Kristen was great and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a doula. She listened carefully to what I wanted for my birth and spent a lot of time preparing my husband and me before the birth. My husband was very confident after her prenatal visits and was well prepared for my labor. He had been so nervous to start with. I had an all natural VBAC with a 9lb, 5oz baby thanks to Kristen's help. She was a quiet, but strong support during labor. She was flexible and available during my pregnancy for questions and did her research when she didn't have a rqeady answer. She also has a great toolbox for positions to help pain relief during labor. I would use her services again in a heartbeat!

Kristen provided excellent doula care! She was very kind, thoughtful and resourceful. She brought one of her tools called the "peanut". I loved it. I thought it was very beneficial in helping progress my labor. I cannot thank her enough for her presence for the critical times that I, hubby and the baby had. Her time and expertise is invaluable.I highly reccomend her doula services.

Kristen Collins with Safe Haven Doulas was simply amazing. My husband and i could not have gone through the birth of our first child without her. She offered advise and information to any question that I had prior to birth, without being pushy or judgmental when I selected the birth plan that worked best for me! She was a steady presence throughout my labor, and helped us understand what was going on each step along the way. She gave me exercises and postions to speed up my labor, breathing techniques to get me through the toughest of contractions, and many comfort measures emotionally and physically to keep me strong and focused throughout labor.
Kristen was motivating, calming and a mentor to my husband, which helped him play an active role in our child's birth.
My husband and I feel you will not find a better support person during such an intimate time as the birth of of your child!!!
