Angie was a huge blessing to have as a doula. She was very attentive the weeks before birth and followed up to make sure we were all settled and adjusting well. I was grateful to have her just a call or text away for any questions or concerns. She had several mothers due at the same time and I always felt like I could reach her if I needed to.

During labor she helped me with suggestions to encourage labor as well as to stay comfortable and get adequate rest when possible. She is well trained and was able to meet my needs and looked out for my husband's needs as well.

I would definitely recommend Angie to anyone looking for a doula!

Angie was our doula for our third and final baby, born about a week ago. I wanted a doula to assist me with pain management, as I was having a fully natural and unmedicated birth at a birth center. Also, my spouse's role was primarily to manage our two other children and meet their needs during the labor, so I needed some extra help. I'd had two previous hospital births that were very unsatisfying experiences and since this was our last baby, I wanted it to be perfect! Angie was great. She talked me through each contraction, coached me out of negative automatic behaviors (holding my breath, making pained faces, making sounds like sobs or screams instead of moans), helped me with positions, and helped manage communication between midwives. I had a very fast labor and delivery. (Thank god!) Angie was able to be with me the entire time. I held onto her during pushing and I worry I hurt her! (She hasn't confirmed or denied this. lol) I signed up for nitrous ("gas and air") but didn't even use it. It was a very physically challenging and wonderful experience and I couldn't have been as successful if I hadn't made the decision to get a doula. And with that decision, I couldn't have done better than Angie unless I could've found someone to go through labor for me. lol  No, I loved it! It was such an incredibly empowering experience, I'm still high on it and the new baby. Thanks so much, Angie, for being part of that great day!!

I felt comfortable with Angie from our first conversation, and knew that she was a good fit for us. My son decided to make an appearance two and a half weeks early and my labor progressed very quickly.... so Angie met us at the hospital and jumped right in! I didn't even have a birth plan typed up, but she talked us through every step when the nurses and hospital staff asked bunches of questions (that I was in no mindset to be able to answer coherently). My husband was grateful to have Angie to help him provide counter pressure techniques and suggest different positions, even when the hospital staff had me connected to monitors continuously. I was able to stay unmedicated during labor and delivery because of the techniques, guided imagery, and breathing that Angie walked me through. When our son was born, having Angie there also allowed my husband the comfort of being able to attend to the baby who was looked over by the NICU team, while knowing someone was also watching out for me (our son was healthy, but had a low heart rate because the cord was wrapped twice around his neck). I was really impressed with the support Angie provided us during this wonderful and surreal experience. My husband was skeptical of having a Doula, but in the end, he was so happy to have Angie there during labor and delivery! I would certainly recommend Angie as a Doula, and if if we have another child, you bet she’ll be one of the first people I call!

Angelica (Angie) Bechtold was the best doula we could have asked for. My husband and I were impressed with Angie's professionalism. Angie was there for me during a very long labor, making sure that I was doing the right thing, offering valuable advice on anything from the right type of breathing to when to push, holding my hands when contractions were getting too much to bear, and just being my strongest advocate all along. It helped me immensely that I had such a trustworthy advocate by my side, especially in moments when I was not sure what to do and was distraught. Although my husband was a big support during labor, I doubt I would have endured the long labor without Angie. Her presence, calming and reassuring voice, her knowledge about childbirth, and her patience and positivity throughout the labor got me through it. I strongly believe that Angie being there for me helped me have the natural labor. I told this to Angie and my husband already: Angie will be the doula I will hire again if we have another baby down the road.
