Ms Parker was an amazing and a fantastic doula! She was perfect. I am so happy Hannah referred me Ms Parker. This was my second pregnancy but to me it was the same feeling as it was for the first. I had loads of questions and doubts and less confident of my self. I was scared, very very scared. Ms Parker was there through out my whole pregnancy journey and gave me full courage and confidence and answered all my questions no matter what time of the day it was. I was too scared before Parker came in but then with her physical and moral support I was able to go through the whole pregnancy much easily. My first delivery was all natural but this time I was not sure if I could go through that pain again but Ms Parker was always there to encourage me and showed me some physical exercising techniques to make sure I have a smooth labor. She made me feel comfortable every time she was around me. She did many home visit before the due date to ensure I was strong mentally and physically. She is a very good listener. I informed Ms Parker that I am scared of hospitals so she was there with me at my home since my early labor pain and was taking care of me until I was ready to go to the hospital. She gave me massages and showed me some position to help me with my labor so I could have a smooth and a quick labor. When I was at the hospital I was already almost 10 cm dilated and was ready to push! I went into the hospital around 12.15 a.m and had my baby at 12.59 a.m. I felt like she was my own sister. She make you feel like she is one of us. Ms Parker is the best doula anyone can ever find. If it was not for Parker I am sure I would have had a long labor in my pregnancy because she showed me all the techniques and position to help me with the labor. That's the only reason I had a natural birth. Desmond, Aara, Adara and my self love you and feel so grateful to you. I highly recommend hiring Parker for your doula services!! All the very best for her!! May god bless her!

Parker was a wonderful support both physically and emotionally through our whole pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. She tailored every meeting to specifically meet our needs at the time. This was my second birth. My first birth I did not use a doula and it did not go as I had hoped. Parker was wonderful in trusting and believing in me when I told her I knew my body and wanted to decide when to go to the hospital. She never second guessed my decisions and supported me and my partner through the whole process. My partner was a little nervous and she answered every question he had through the whole process. She also was able to tell what worked for my body and labor and made sure I got that, making my birth process much easier. Parker was also amazing postpartum and offered the support I needed at the time.

I struggled with anxiety and depression during my pregnancy and Parker was a wonderful support. I also received massages and acupressure during pregnancy and postpartum from Parker. I can not rave enough about these services. She made each session special by focusing on what I needed at the time including accupressure to help with anxiety.

I can honestly say I wouldn’t change a thing about my birthing experience and a lot of that is from the support and guidance Parker was able to offer us. Simply put, she is amazing.

We had a wonderful experience with Parker.  This was my second pregnancy, hoping for a VBAC.  What drew me to Parker was her ability to combine new traditions with old.  She is well versed in the medical side of what birth has evolved to in the US and does a really great job of adding a doula/nurturing/supportive approach to that.  I felt like our pre-birth meetings were our own personal birth class!

Every birth is different, for us, having her at the hospital allowed my husband to have a break for some food, and an ally for him (that he knew) during the whole process.  We were at an extremely midwife/doula friendly hospital, and though the end result was a c-section, Parker was right there in the OR with us, taking our first family photos, and paying close attention to my needs.

I feel bad that I can't be more thorough, as it's been 10 months since baby girl arrived.  I'm happy to answer specific questions if asked.  We don't plan on more kids, but I wouldn't hesitate to call her back up if we did!

Compassionate, honest, and impassioned. These are just a few of the traits Parker displayed during our initial consult before I hired her.

Parker is a phenomenal individual who enriches the lives of all who are fortunate enough to be around her. I know you must be thinking this is quite a bold statement. But let me assure you it was well earned. Parker was such an invaluable member of my birth team. Thanks to her efforts before, during, and after; the delivery of my son was as close to prefect as these things can be. In the beginning she helped ease my concerns with her excellent active listening skills. Offering up advice, research, and other sources for assurance to ensure my comfort.

Parker is a wealth of knowledge and connections within the birthing community in and around Richmond. She always made sure I was well informed, and respected mine and my partner's decisions every step of the way. Parker's belief in herself and those she works with really helped build a confident foundation for me to rely on.

She offered her sitting services to watch our 3 year old so we could attend a Low Intervention Birth Class at HDH. The information garnered from that class coupled with Parker's support helped me bring my little one into this world all natural. Whether this is your first pregnancy or your fifth, Parker's doula services are as much a necessity as they are a luxury and kindness you deserve.

When we look back on my birthing experience, my husband and I are so thankful we had Parker by our side! When we first met Parker, I felt an instant connection. She is calm, wise, confident, extremely caring, assertive, and very knowledgeable and experienced. She provided us with great resources, guidance, and emotional support during my pregnancy and postpartum. I found her home visits to be extremely helpful. I also appreciated how Parker was very responsive to emails and phone calls.

My goal was to have a natural labor (and I did) and when I went into labor on Christmas day, Parker was very reactive and gave us so much support before she even came to our house. I had a communication issue with my provider and Parker was an amazing advocate for me. If it wasn’t for Parker, I would have gone to the hospital earlier than necessary and I probably would have been pushed to have an intervention that was unneeded. Though my husband did a great job supporting me while I labored at home, since it was my first pregnancy, I was so relieved when Parker came to our house while I labored. Parker was so strong and selfless during the entire process. I trusted her. When I entered the transition phase of labor at home, Parker was very assertive yet she made me feel at ease during all the excitement and chaos of getting out of the house to go to the hospital.

At the hospital Parker was my rock (along with my husband!)- all of my fears disappeared whenever I looked at her. Parker captured some amazing pictures of the birth and put such love and intention into creating a peaceful environment.

We highly recommend hiring Parker. If we have another child, we definitely would love to hire Parker again!

I cannot say enough good things about Parker! She worked with my husband and I for many months preparing for the birth of our son. We instantly felt very comfortable with her. She was there for us every step of the way providing education, support and a loving, caring attitude. Throughout my 30+ hour labor and delivery, Parker was by our side. We really could not have done it without her! Her constant calm and positive energy provided so much hope for me and my family. I will never forget how Parker supported us during that time. I would recommend her to anyone as she is a qualified doula and an all-around fantastic human being! She truly Rocks!!

Finding the words to describe how much Parker helped us throughout our labor process is an extremely difficult thing to do. She has an incredible calming presence. We can't imagine laboring without her anymore.

I had a 46 hour labor which got intense pretty quickly. We called Parker when we thought it was an appropriately time with contractions 5 minutes apart for the past 2 hours which was 14 hours into our labor process. Parker gladly came over and jumped right in. She was so encouraging and provided us with many suggestions for positions and things to do to help progress labor. Our son took a long time to make it into this world once labor started but Parker did not leave our side. She did not falter and continued to support us. She was by our side for 36 hours. She is a selfless person when she is there to serve you and help you through labor. She provided incredible support to my husband during the process - they became a well oiled machine. We could not have done such a long labor without her support. She is irreplaceable. You will not regret hiring her, but at the very least, interview her just to meet her and see everything she has to offer.

She works with MyBirth which is an incredible organization full of wonderful doulas. This provides her with back up support if something happens or just to run ideas off us. They offer other educational classes that can help you prepare for the adventures of labor.

From the moment we found out we were expecting my husband and I used every resource we had available to us to learn more about pregnancy and birth. We discovered using a doula would be beneficial to the both of us in many ways. We met with several doulas but left each interview not feeling very comfortable until we met Parker! We both got into the car after the interview and said "she's the one!" She was (and is) a breath of fresh air! Every prenatal meeting she came well prepared and extremely knowledgable! Always (before, during, even after birth) answered any and all questions. She made us not only feel comfortable but she made me feel safe. She was so encouraging from the beginning and made me feel strong and able. My labor started suddenly and progressed quickly (precipitous labor) while I was at home alone. I wanted to labor alone for a while and "do life" (as she had previously encouraged us to do) until things really picked up so I told my husband to stay at work and Parker to come by a little later. However, our little girl had different plans. Only minutes after I told both of them to hold off my contractions became very strong and close together. I was terrified and convinced my baby was going to be born in our bathroom- I knew I needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible. Parker arrived and lifted my fears away! Not only was I no longer alone but her calmness, gentle voice and touch reassured me I was safe and my body was doing what it needed to do. When we got to the hospital I was already 10 centimeters and ready to push! My husband met us at the hospital and Parker was by our side encouraging me and comforting me. She reminded me of pushing techniques we had discussed and reminded me to rest. Minutes later our little girl was born. Parker was there for us through every step and became a friend along the way. She helped us have the positive, empowering, and inspirational birth story we so wanted and for that we are so grateful for her!

When I decided to do natural child birth and until the last week of my pregnancy, I was sekeptical about having a doula. But as my due date had approached, the idea of actually giving a birth without any medical interventions terrified me. My midwife strongly recommended me to have a doula and I met Parker just a week before my due date.

At the first meeting with Parker at my house, I could see how much she had prepared for the meeting and how much she cared her patient at once. She was frindly, kind, caring, and passionate about her role. Her notebook was full of notes about the best approaching way and real understading of natural childbirth. When I was anxious about delayed childbirth, she tried hard to make me feel safe and comfortable.

My labor started at midnight on October 1, 10 days after my due date, and she kept in contact with me until my acitve labor started checking my condition and how i am feeling. My active labor started at around 3 am and when I called her, she ran to my house at the late hour. Standing back not to bother my feeling and concentration, she suggested position change and helped me to focus on breathing. With an intolerable pain, I ended up in the hospital at 6 am and laid down on the bed. Her voice was calm, soft, and assuring and her hands holding my hands were warm and supportive. She constantly gave me water in order for me not to be dehydrated and breathed together. With her help and wish, I could deliver a healthy baby girl at 9:20 am, 3 hours 20 mins later. She came to see me and my baby as postpartum visit and kept in contact with me by email and text even after that.

It was not only the physical and educational support, but also emotional support by sharing my thought, feeling, fear, and even pain. I believe that I couldn't have made my childbirth moment any better withouth her. Thank you Parker. You are the best doula!!

Parker was our doula for the birth of our second son in January 2016. Needless to say, she was wonderful in so many ways.  She was kind, gentle, caring, and graceful.  Her presence put me at ease during a difficult labor and her assistance was a blessing to my husband. She went out of her way and continues to do so, to check on the family and provide support and friendship. If you are looking for a doula who will go above and beyond, has a great deal of knowledge, a gentle hand and kind demeanor, look no further. Very grateful to have met her. Highly recommended.

After going back and forth about hiring a doula we decided late in the game to work with Parker. From the beginning she was the calming voice that I needed to finally relax and enjoy this last stage of pregnancy. She worked with our crazy schedule and gave us great advice and information about what we could expect. She was always quick to answer any questions I had and when things started rolling a week before my due date she was consistently checking in on me. After 48 hours of prodromal labor with consistent, but manageable contractions, my water broke. We headed to VCU and Parker met us there with her infectious smile. Throughout the process she was calm and collected and supported me 100% in all of my decisions. She helped my husband comfort me by giving him advice and guidance about positions we could use. Although I had hoped to labor naturally, severe dehydration and a terrible lack of sleep left me begging for an epidural. Even then, Parker found ways to move me into positions so that the baby could continue to move down and she stuck with us the whole time. When it was time to push she was right there with my husband helping me through it. The kindness and patience she showed us during that time was unforgettable. She was a consistent advocate for us. Her confident rapport with the midwives and nursing staff brought us so much comfort. She allowed both my husband and I to be confident and knowledgeable about our options and was always supportive of every decision we made. I cannot stress how wonderful Parker was to work with. When we look back at our birth story we are so grateful that she was a part of it!
