I was pursuing a Vaginal birth after Cesarean (VBAC) and I was blown away buy Anne's desire to learn everything that she could about VBAC's for me! Her desire to learn and her excitement for my birth plan sold me right away and I hired Anne without hesitation. She was there for me every step of the way and provided an abundance of information. She was my cheerleader, my advocate, my partner in birth, and I knew I was fully equipped to conquer the birth of my dreams!  Anne was there for me when I needed her via text, phone and email.  She was consistently checking in and sending me information on nutriton, comfort, and how to increase my chances of a successful VBAC.  It was incredible how hard she worked for us and I couldn't be more pleased. Unfortunately for me my birth plan when right out the window when I was diagnosed with Cholestasis and preeclampsia at 39 weeks. I was devastated and called Anne right away to let her know we were on our way into the hospital and they wanted to perform a repeat cesarean - the one thing I didn't want and trained so hard to avoid. She was quick to help calm me down, reminding me it was my body and assuring me we would ask all the appropriate questions. She beat us to the hospital! Once at the hospital she helped me with questions for the doctor and overall comforting me with one of the most difficult decisions of my life. Without her I wouldn't have known what questions to ask and I would have been a complete wreck.  My husband who was the most skeptical about hiring a doula was beyond grateful that we had Anne there with us to support us through our birth. Even though I didn't experience labor and ultimatly chose a repeat cesarean I can not imagine not having Anne with me. She used masage to calm me and supported me through recovery, and stayed an extended amount of time to be certain I was stable after I hemorrhaged. I highly reccommend you hire Anne for your birth, you will not be disappointed!

Anne is an awesome doula and wonderful person. Full of kindness, love, empathy, patience and dedication.  All my communication with Anne before physically meeting her was through messenger and a few phone interviews. Every conversation was very clear and it was easy to understand her and relate to her. I was in a situation where I believed I was unable to afford a doula, but was able to have Anne as mine at the very last minute. I met her in person for the first time on the Saturday before my son's birth and he was born that following Monday. I was sold prior to meeting her, but when I finally met her, after the consultation I knew I'd be happy with her. She was thurough in her questions, brought great suggestions and taught me a few things, and really listened to me.

On the morning of my contractions, I woke up at 3am to strong severe contractions that were already 4 minutes apart and less than a minute long. I called her up abut 4:30 am when they wouldn't slow down. Right then she was wide awake and talking me through the contractions and helped me keep track of them. I call back my midwife and she told me I should come in. When I showed up, my midwife from Fruitful Vine had the birth tub running. I was very happy to know that Anne had an established relationship with Sharon, because they were the only 2 there outside hubby and I. They worked great as a team and I felt very comfortable and confident in the company I kept. At 7:41am, my son was born in the water. My birth was perfect, and exactly as planned. I wouldn't have changed a thing. She went beyond the call of duty when she came back for the follow up visit, and pulled all the stops to make sure I was okay, and coping well with everything. I've only physically been around her a short period, but I can say I love who she is, her character is pure and I would recommend her any time.

When I found out I was pregnant, I had this vision of this wonderful, calm, healthy birth. Quickly, though, I was diagnosed with every problem in the doctor's text book. Working with the only MFM practice in town, I found myself feeling very forgotten in a sea of hundreds of other extreme-high-risk patients. I needed someone who just worried about me, who could be a supportive and calming figure. I am so lucky to have found Anne. Anne's passion for her work as a doula pushes her to constantly find answers, new techniques, and expand her expertise (and trust me, every new twist in my health concerns pushed for new answers!). For every problem that threatened to thwart my birth goals, she provided an array of options to help me stay calm and focused. She went FAR above and beyond, scouring evidenced-based birth techniques and solutions to every stressor- from organizing my baby shower, writing my birth plan, choosing my pediatrician, helping me find my own voice to express my concerns during my (week long!) birth, to obtaining donor milk when my supply didn't come in. She is totally immersed in mother-care before, during, and after birth and you would be very fortunate to hire her as a doula!

Anne Homan is an amazing doula. I am so grateful for her help with the birth of my son. She taught me relaxation methods and exercises to prepare for birth. Anne provided me with a ton of great advice and provided helpful resources throughout my pregnancy and afterwards. She helped me with breastfeeding tips, postnatal care and much more.

Anne's cheery and positive attitude is pleasantly infectious and helped me be more confident about my pregnancy and home birth. Anyone going through pregnancy will be lucky to have her by their side during this most special and difficult time in their life. As a first time mom, I had a lot to learn and couldn't imagine going through it all without her. Thanks a million, Anne!

"After having Anne Homan attend the birth of my third baby, I can wholeheartedly recommend her as a doula. Anne and I spoke often during my pregnancy. I had high blood pressure throughout my entire pregnancy and Anne was very understanding and encouraging. I called Anne as soon as I arrived at the hospital and was told that my blood pressure was too high and that I would have to stay to have an emergency induction. I was in tears and Anne knew just what to say to make me feel better. She dropped everything and came right away. She even brought her breast pump so that she could pump during the wee hours of the morning while she was away from her baby. Anne knew how much I wanted a natural labor and delivery, and was completely understanding when I made the decision to receive an epidural. Having been through two very different labors herself, I felt that Anne truly understood why the decision was so hard for me. Anne also captured some amazing photos of me and my husband during labor and a video after my son was born that I will treasure forever! If she had not been present, I know that I would not have as many happy memories looking back at my birth story. Anne was truly a blessing during the birth of my son!"

I had considered hiring a doula during my pregnancy but decided my husband and I would be fine without any additional assistance. We are extremely private people and we felt uncomfortable inviting someone we didn't know very well to be a part of such a personal experience. We hired Anne at the very last minute. During labor I realized the benefit of having a neutral and supportive third party by our side. Of course, my husband was awesome and amazingly supportive but having Anne there made a gigantic difference in our birth experience. She managed to be calm and reassuring throughout the process without being in any way invasive. We are so thankful for the service she provided and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!

Anne did a wonderful job helping our family bring our first child, DJ into the world. She was supportive of ever decision I made, even when things didn't go as planned. I felt very informed with everything I went through. I would highly recommend her to any mom having a baby.
