I really appreciated the personal care and attention before and after the delivery. She made a it a point to understand us and our desires for our delivery. She was very knowledgeable and able to help us reach decisions during the delivery. My husband really appreciated the support that she was able to give to him to help me through the delivery.

I would highly recommend Anneke to anyone looking for a doula. Since the first time we met, we really connected. She is so sweet and kind. We hired her for the birth of our first child and she was absolutely wonderful during my labor and delivery. Even though my husband was there for me physically, Anneke was the sweet and calming voice that gave me the confidence I needed to get through to the end. She really listened to me about my concerns and was so reassuring through the entire process. During my labor, she knew exactly what I needed without me even asking. She was always one step ahead of me and so incredibly helpful. She was also a birth coach for my husband who wanted to help me in different ways and she provided suggestions on how he could help especially as things changed. She never got in between us and allowed my husband to be there when I needed him the most. She is very easy to get a hold of and is prompt in returning emails and phone calls. Anneke is very willing to answer any questions you may have and help put you at ease with any concerns. We loved Anneke so much that we had her there for the birth of our second child!

I am so happy to have gotten to know Anneke through searching for and having her as my doula.  During my pregnancy, she was a great resource and support.  My husband was away for most of my pregnancy, so it was great to have Anneke checking in regularly.  She came over twice (officially) to discuss birth plan, work on labor comfort measures, and generally get to know our family.  She was able to accompany me to a "Meet the Midwives" event at the hospital, and even referred me to resources in the community, including a massage therapist and gluten-free grocer.  I had false labor 4 weeks before my due date, and Anneke came over to help me time contractions and calm down.  Even though it wasn't "go-time," I was so happy to have her support and encouragement.

The morning I went into labor, Anneke was so responsive and got to our house very quickly after we called her.  I was so distracted trying to make sure I had all my ducks in a row before going to the hospital, and I was thankful she said "stop working, close your lap top, and let's focus on having this baby."  She was a great team with my husband in getting me to focus. I was truly thankful for her calm, straight-forward demeanor and encouragement.

At the hospital, Anneke was at my side, working with the L&D nurse, midwife, and coaching both my husband and I.  She was a great liaison, she helped talk me through my decisions, and encouraged me to have patience with myself and the process of labor.  I am thankful that she put up with my shenanigans - hysterical (inappropriate) laughter at my water breaking in public and stubbornness in labor positions - but I'm glad she always the perfect repsonse and went with the flow.

She was a great fit for our family, and I'm so glad to have had her in my corner to welcome our sweet daughter into the world.
