Sandra was kind, consistent, easy to reach, extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and an all-around amazing doula! We were so blessed to be able to have had her supporting us through the pregnancy and difficult birth of our son. Her sitz bath herbs she gave me helped my body revitalize and heal, and her words of encouragement and praise helped me get through difficult moments. You won’t regret having Sandra as your doula!

With my first child, I had a very difficult 24 hour labor which ultimately resulted in a c-section following a cascade of (in hind sight) unnecessary medical interventions. After I delivered my oldest daughter, I felt defeated and extremely bitter towards the entire process. When I was preparing to have my second child, I knew that I had to do things differently. I did tons of research and made up my mind to have an unmedicated, natural child birth. In order to do so, I needed a strong team: a supportive medical provider, a supportive partner and a doula. I had heard nothing but amazing things about doulas, how essential they were and how no one who had made the decision to hire one was disappointed.
In searching for a doula, I interviewed many. When I met Sandra, however, I knew within minutes that she was the one I wanted on my team. She was funny, down to earth, experienced, and I felt like she “got me.” Perhaps even more importantly, she was extremely supportive of my goal to have an unmedicated VBAC and, despite the fact that she did not know me, very confident in my ability to have a successful unmedicated VBAC.
She was amazing from start to finish from the several appointments we had together leading up to the big day all the way to when she assisted with getting us to the hospital after I had waited just a bit too long to go. She came to my home, got to know me and my family and was so positive and uplifting that it was practically contagious. She helped me to have the confidence in nature and trust in my own body that I was missing with the birth of my first child. With her wisdom and guidance, I had an incredibly successful unmedicated VBAC and a healthy baby girl. I could not have done it without her!

I am so incredibly grateful to have had Sandra as our doula for my third child's birth. When I first met Sandra, I immediately knew she was the perfect doula for us. Her background allowed her to understand my autoimmune disease process, which makes us a high risk pregnancy, but her experience with VBAC births also allowed her to support and empower me in a way that lead to our successful unmediated VBAC birth. I beyond appreciative of the positivity and optimism that Sandra brought to our birth. It felt really great to have that support and empowerment. Sandra was amazing in her guidance -- for me and my husband – reminding me to listen to my body and not get stuck in my head, which is easy to do when you are TOLAC/VBAC. As my labor progressed, Sandra was able to guide me into labor positions to help my daughter move from posterior to anterior. And, as labor quickly picked up, she kept me calm, reassuring me that things were going well, all while applying counter pressure and giving the most amazing, pain relieving hip squeezes a laboring mama could ask for. When we got to the hospital, Sandra made sure the staff had our birth preferences. Also, she calmly and clearly explained to me a few compromises we needed to make (as labor as moving incredibly quickly at that point). It felt great to know that with Sandra as our doula I had a cheering squad that was knowledgeable, caring and equally invested in my success. Thank you, Sandra, I couldn’t have birthed our beautiful daughter without you!

Sandra was the doula at my second daughter’s birth. I can’t imagine a better fit for us. She kept me calm when I was starting to feel a bit out of control as things progressed rather quickly. She knew intuitively what support both my husband and I needed. I am still amazed at how perfectly she applied counter pressure to hips during my contractions. I honestly don’t think I could have done it without that! Not only was she there during the labor and delivery, but she provided so much help and support afterwards. She is not only a doula but a incredible IBCLC as well. She was able to find the posterior and anterior tongue ties, lip tie and buccal ties that my daughter had. She provided invaluable resources to address these issues and I have successfully breastfed my daughter for over a year now. We have all been so thankful and appreciative of her help and support. I would recommend Sandra to anyone that is looking for a doula, an IBCLC, or both.
