We can’t say enough about how Heidi made the birth of our son a positive experience and we are truly grateful to her. She has an immediately calming, meditative presence and a lot of experience. This made us feel a lot more confident and comfortable during the labour and delivery of our first child. We had an unmedicated birth in a busy Toronto hospital. Heidi helped us to navigate the experience in a way that supported our wishes. She is intuitive and gets along easily with healthcare providers which makes dealing with challenges much easier. Heidi incorporated her experience as a physiotherapist to provide amazing comfort measures that helped me to remain calm through the most difficult parts of my labour. She is a very grounded person and brought this to our birth, encouraging me to remain focused and believe in myself, and the power of my body to bring our child into the world safely. We can say very confidently that working with Heidi was absolutely critical to the comfort and joy of our birthing experience.

I and my husband were so happy and infinitely grateful that we found Heidi and had her as a doula. It was an amazing experience from the very first sight! She is so kind, so knowledgeable, so lovely, so caring! It wouldn’t be a flatter at all to say that she is a person with a golden heart. She helped us to make a move to Canada very easy and warm (as we were living in Singapore and expecting a baby there, but then because of work we had to move to Canada when I was 28 week pregnant, we knew nobody there and nothing about which hospitals, doctors or midwives to choose). From the very first Skype meeting I knew that I want Heidi to be our doula. She simply emits calmness and confidence what was very important to me. Also, I fell in love with her vision that giving birth is a miracle similar to flower blossoming – natural and beautiful (even though initially I was very much scared about delivery process) and her approach to help us to make the best decision while fully respecting our choice. I wanted to give birth at the hospital with OB and focused on having as much more natural birth as possible. With truly amazing help and support of my dear husband and dear Heidi I could make it! Our little Daniel was born without any medical intervention and everything went smoothly. She also helped us postpartum and I should note that despite the fact that my mom doesn’t speak English, Heidi easily and entirelly charmed her too!! The BEST doula ever! :)

As soon as we had our first meeting with Heidi, my husband and I knew we wanted her to be our doula. We felt comforted by her calm demeanor and warmth. I had been unsure of whether I could benefit from a doula because I knew I wanted an epidural, but Heidi truly had no judgment on our choices and just offered her advice where asked. We learned that a doula is so much more than just being there for the birth. She met with us a few times throughout the pregnancy to see how we were doing and helped us to understand what to expect as well as taught us many pain management techniques for labor. Due to the timing and length of my labor I had to use Heidi's back up doula during the birth, who she had introduced us to in advance just in case. She was wonderful as well and you could tell Heidi put a lot of thought into who would be her back up. When I was going through the most painful part of my labor, she was able to cut my pain in half with her coping techniques. Not only was she a huge support for me, but also for my husband who was unsure how to help me at that point.

Heidi was in touch as soon as we were home from the hospital and offered advice and support for both my pain and for taking care of our daughter. We had a few post partum support sessions after that and I can't stress enough how helpful they were. She helped with everything from laundry to breastfeeding. When my husband went back to work she really made the transition so much easier. I can't imagine not having Heidi during this time and look forward to a long relationship with her. I would recommend her 100%.

Heidi attended the births of both of my sons, which couldn't have been more different. No matter the circumstances, her warmth and gentle demeanour were just what I needed during labour. She has such a calm presence and knows just what to say to provide comfort. Her consultations beforehand left me feeling confident and prepared, while her postnatal visits were exceedingly helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services to any expectant new mom. Heidi has truly found her calling doing this work and it shows.

I don't know if I can express how grateful we were to have Heidi as our Doula. I didn't meet her before I was in labour, actually she was filling in for our initial doula who had to leave and go to work, but I am soooo happy it all unfolded as it did. Heidi was AMAZING to say the least, even my partner who didn't entirely understand why I wanted a doula said after our labour "she is an angel!" and literally I think she just might be. To give some context my water broke at 28 weeks and my son was born at 29 wks nearly 3 months early! So to say the least it was a pretty crazy stressful time and not very much went according to our birth plan, but in the end our son Isaac was born so healthy the doctors could hardly believe it. They had expected it would probably be a c section, and that he might have to stay in the hospital until at least his 40 week mark. However to the hospital staff's surprise it was a natural vaginal birth, he was super healthy and came home from the hospital at 36 weeks. I strongly believe a good deal of credit goes to the incredible suppport team I had, especially Heidi! Perhaps because she has children of her own she understands the process, but for whatever reason Heidi was very skilled at tallking me through contractions. It felt like she could really see me and entirely understand which parts of me needed to relax and helped me through the process so smoothly and efficiently, riding each crazy wave right along with me everytime we had to switch gears. She was calm, thoughtful, kind and easy to be with. The genuine care and warmth she possesses shined through every moment she spent with us. I would and do highly recommend Heidi as a birth doula.  She is very capable, wise and loving. Oh and did i mention she even dropped by the hosiptal the next day with a birthday gift for Isaac! Heidi was such a crucial and special part of me having a positive birth experience, there are just no words that could convey my gratitude!

I decided before I even got pregnant that I wanted to have a natural birth and experience everything. I armed myself with lots of good books, hypnobirthing classes, a midwife and most importantly a doula.

It can be overwhelming deciding who is going to help support you through this life changing experience but the moment I met Heidi, I knew she was the one.

Her calming personality put me at ease immediately. Being a mom herself and experiencing natural births in a hospital and at home I knew she woud be able to guide me and arm me with the tools I would need, as well as my husband.

She gave me helpful exercises to prepare my body, she gave tips to my husband to help ease the stress of the baby on my body. She was a phone call or text message away during my entire pregnancy.

I also had Heidi come to my home as a post partum doula, and all the thoughtful things she was able to do for me was more then I could ask for. She let me sleep, I woke up to food prepared to eat and food prepped for meals later. I was able to go for a walk and she tided the house and rocked the baby.

I would recommend her to everyone and look forward to having her support me through my next pregnancy.

The birth of our daughter was one of the most incredible and, at the same time, terrifying experiences of our lives. We were so grateful for Heidi's support, knowledge, and calm encouragement before and during my labour. We felt very comfortable with Heidi from our initial meeting, and we were so incredibly glad that we decided to have Heidi as a support for both myself and my husband. Although my labour did not go as planned, Heidi was able to keep me calm and help me to cope with the physical and emotional demands that my labour placed on me. She was supportive throughout my pregnancy, my labour, and afterward, providing much needed advice on breastfeeding, as well as how to take care of myself after the arrival of our daughter. I would not hesitate to recommend Heidi to any family looking for the help of a doula!
