Deardra helped us with both of our kids and we were so grateful to have her support. She was very flexible, made every effort to accommodate last minute requests, and always showed up when we needed her. She was great with both babies and had a very calming effect on them.  She helped make the postpartum period much easier and less stressful. She is very knowledgeable about different techniques to soothe babies and had lots of helpful tips about breastfeeding. I feel lucky that we found her and had her with us to help navigate through the newborn phase.

Deardra was my postpartum doula when my baby boy was born in September 2018. I am a single mom with no family in the area, and I also have a 2.5 year old. I realized only when I was in labor that I was going to be all alone in the hospital the first night after my birth team had left. I contacted Deardra and she was able to come at the last minute and be there with me, caring for my newborn that whole first night so I could try to get some sleep. Deardra and another doula switched off evenings for the next three weeks at home, doing all the night feedings and baby care so I could rest. She was indispensable. Deardra has a caring, kind, warm and soft way about her that immediately put me at ease. She is so good with babies that I felt totally confident leaving my newborn in her care. Deardra is committed and dedicated to her work as a doula, and her passion for baby care is obvious. I recommend her very highly - she is still someone I can call on in a pinch when I need help on an evening or weekend.

Deardra agreed to be a night doula for our 5 month old with just a few hours notice. He wasn’t sleeping well and had just gotten his first cold and after a few nights of not sleeping, I needed a night of sleep. With almost no introduction she was immediately at ease and stepped in seamlessly and naturally to our night time routine. She held and comforted our baby all night. He hardly cried with her, even though they had never met, as she patiently rocked him back to sleep, or gave him medication, or brought him to me to breastfeed. I think my whole family slept better on the nights Deardra was with us. I know I did because my baby was in good hands. Deardra is a sweetheart with a gentle and loving touch. She also makes sound decisions and I felt completely comfortable leaving the baby to her. We will be eternally grateful for those nights of ease and rest that Deardra gave us at a time when we really needed the extra support.

As a first-time mom to a newborn, I was so grateful to have Deardra help our family as a night doula during the first few months after my son was born.  She was not only amazing with the baby, but supported our whole family -- providing suggestions for breastfeeding (to increase my milk supply) and offered to help around the house to make our lives easier.   She is very reliable and has a fun and positive personality.    She is incredibly respectful of the needs of mom and baby and can adapt to  any preferred parenting style.  Her calm and nurturing demeanor was great for the baby, who I think slept better whenever Deardra was around.   So if you're looking to get more sleep at night and have peace of mind with someone who is experienced, professional and can easily integrate into your family's routine, then Deardra is the right person for you!

I met Deardra a few months into my 2nd pregnancy.  I wanted more support in the delivery room than I had with my 1st child and I was interested in hiring a doula. During my pregnancy, Deardra supported me  through horrible morning sickness, being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and the overwhelming amount of information I received from my doctor. This pregnancy was nothing like my first. Deardra communicated with me almost daily. She always remembered when my appointments were and checked in with me after. Deardra shot a beautiful milk bath maternity shoot several weeks before the birth as well. As my due date neared it was clear I was going to be induced because of the diabetes and the assumed weight of my daughter.  On the day we were induced Deardra was at the hospital before us. She stayed the whole time. We danced, walked, bounced etc. Everything you can think of to manage the pain. She had pain relieving techniques and positions that were very effective. Deardra was a wonderful advocate for me with the staff because she had taken the time to make a birth plan with all my must haves. She helped my husband understand what he could help with and play a more active role in the labor. And at the end of the day I was able to birth my daughter naturally with no epidural after 9hrs of pitocin. There is no way I could have done it without her. I feel so empowered now knowing what my body is capable of doing. After we got home she checked in on us, gave me more education about the recovery process and took more beautiful photos of my toddler and my newborn. If you are looking for a doula that will support you through your pregnancy, labor and recovery then Deardra is the doula you want. I cannot say enough good things about Deardra.

We had a great experience with Deardra. She was always there for us before, during and after. We booked with less than 2 weeks left before the due date and she came out right away to meet us at our home and give us some great notes and to find out what I like the setting to be. There were lots of questions that I would have never thought about. This made everything so much easier for us as since I had a difficult delivery and complications from our 1st delivery. This process really helped calm my nerves. Deardra was great and always available, even in the middle of the night phone calls or texts. She was always punctual and really made me her 1st priority. She's very caring and helpful throughout. Our post-partum visit, she even came out to do a baby photo-shoot and edited some beautiful picture of our baby girl. We would recommend her to anyone looking for an experienced, caring and helpful doula.

I am thankful I found Deardra to help with my newborn baby and with post-partum care. She took care of my baby really well and I could lean on her for help with milk-production and bathing the baby etc. She voluntarily baked lactation cookies for me even without my asking which was very thoughtful and shows that she really gets how to help a new mom. She was very punctual and flexible with her schedule. She is also very organized and made sure the babies surroundings were well kept. There was many instances when she went the extra mile and it was hugely appreciated.

I can't thank Deardra enough for what she gave me… support, strength, guidance… intangible things that I will never forget. My experience with her was amazing, surreal and just wonderful. During my labor she was there to guide me and ease the pains during my contractions. She went with what I wanted during the different feelings of what I did and didn't want during my pains in labor to ease my pain and she shared and gave me some different ideas to ease my pains. I highly recommend Deardra to anyone that wants extra support during labor.

Deardra worked as a night nurse for our infant son for about five weeks, twice a week. She was incredibly kind and loving, clearly deeply committed to his care and well-being. She also took extra care of us as parents, showing up with lactation muffins, oats, and even girl scout cookies! So thoughtful! It made it possible for me to rest easy those nights, knowing that our son was so well taken care of by Deardra! We feel very lucky to have had her help in making those first weeks a little easier!

I would fully recommend Deardra as a birth doula.  She was was extremely warm and knowledgeable.  I thank her so much that I was able to have such a great birth experience.  From the first time I met her I knew she was going to be the right fit.  She helped prepare my husband and I in a fun loving way.  She was always available for questions throughout my pregnancy.  She even planned me a blessing way  when I told her that I was sad no one had thrown a baby shower.  It was such a special experience that I will remember forever.  I felt fully prepared when I do go into labor.  Deardra helped my husband stay involved in the labor. I will take the skills she has given me and use them for the rest if my life.
