I had my son on March 13th 2009. During my pregnancy Danielle was always there for me, any questions I had at any time, she was just a phone call or text away. Using her Rheki she helped me relax, especially during the end of the pregnancy when nothing seems to be comfortable. I chose to do a hospital birth, and wanted to go into labor on my own. Because of a comlication they had to induce me, I texted Danielle right when I found out the news and she was there in no time!! When you go into labor, especially for your first time, you are scared, anxious, and just ready to meet your baby. Danielle understand that and more! She was there for me when I needed anything! A drink of water, my back rubbed, support. The posite energy she brough into that room was amazing!! She helped explain to me the different decisions the doctors and nurses were making, since I was in the hospital for almost three days before i had the little one, she was my eyes, ears and brain during that time. She knew how I wanted my birth to be and always helped me to remember that and to remind the nurses and doctors too. I could not have done this without Danielle! I mean I'm sure the baby would have come out eventually, but to have her there was amazing! Danielle is so passinate about the birthing process, working with her has taught me some much. My husband and I are planning to get pregant with our 2nd in a few months and have choosen the mid wife route. There is no doudt Danielle will be there!
We were very fortunate to find Danielle to help us with our birthing experience of our second child. Minutes after meeting her, I felt relaxed, comfortable, and confident she would be very helpful and supportive--and in the end that was our experience. My pregancy was very smooth up until the last months when our daughter still had not turned head down. Danielle's positive attitude and contant availability to talk with about the latest appointment was much appreciated and helped me stay on top of my anxiety surrounding a possible c-section. We had a scheduled version and she kindly came to that appointment as I was really scared of the pain involved in manually turning the baby. As it turns out we didn't need to go through with the procedure, but having her by my side helped me feel relaxed and positive. Danielle is trained in reiki and while this bodywork was new to me, I felt calmer and more grounded as she would place her hand on my leg, arm, shoulder.
Danielle is a wonderful doula! Not only did she do amazing things with me while in labor she was very supportive up till the birth of my baby girl. Danielle asked lots of questions in order to capture our view of what my husband and I wanted during labor and delivery. She attended a midwife visit before the birth and showed a lot of care and interest in our lives. She supported us in our view points and helped to create a peaceful atmosphere through labor. While I was in labor she offed different massages and asked if I liked or disliked things. It was helpful, with this being my first baby, to have her suggest things to help me work through my labor. I'm not sure what I would have done without Danielle and I know my husband would have been lost without her. If you are looking for a doula who is real, knows what she is doing, is very supportive of what YOU want and has experience, Danielle is the doula for you.
