Alyssa was amazing at my vbac hospital birth in 2016. Since then I had another baby (9/10/18). This one was a home birth with midwives. Again, Alyssa was indispensable. I couldn't have done it without her support and unwavering confidence. Her calm disposition kept me calm and was able to have an amazingly peaceful water birth in my bathtub. My entire family loves her. She still be my doula again if we have anymore.
Alyssa was the perfect match for me, we instantly clicked and it felt add though I was talking to an old friend. She helped me through my entire pregnancy, I'm a vbac mama, with respect and instilled a confidence in me that I don't think I would have been able to maintain add my due date approached. She was there for me 100% when I was in labor and a huge support after I had the baby with breastfeeding. She also took AMAZING candid pictures during labor and delivery that I am forever thankful for. I'm currently pregnant with baby number 3 and hired her for my first homebirth! We are both beyond excited. She is everything I was for in a doula and I'm so happy I found her.
She was my doula for my HBAC (home birth after cesarean) in October of 2014. I loved the knowledge and encouragement she offered me during our prenatal visits and her support during birth was wonderful. She knew exactly what I needed when I needed it and was open for me to direct her as well. She stayed with me after birth to make sure I settled in and was comfortable. At our post partum visit she even made me homemade cinnamon rolls. I would highly recommend her to anyone because of her flexibility and capability of working with various personality types.
I don't know where to begin!! This girl has been such a blessing to me through this last pregnancy. This was pregnancy number 5 with pregnancy number 4 ending at 34 weeks due to preterm issues. So needless to say I was a ball of nerves during this pregnancy. With help of an amazing midwife who I saw weekly for Makena injections and Alyssa who was always available through text or phone I made it to 39.4 weeks!! The lingest I have ever carried a baby. Starting at around 32 weeks I began having contractions off and on which was miserable and always kept all of us on our toes. My water broke and after getting the kids settled I got to the hospital within and hour and a half and Alyssa showed up about 30 minutes later. My last 3 pregnancies my labors had gone quickly so we were expecting the same thing. Nope this little one was keeping us on our toes. I ended up on pitocin and antibiotics after start and stop contractions for over 12 hrs. Between the support of Alyssa and my dear husband I was able to labor all the way up till the last hour or so before I gave in a got an epidural. I know that without Alyssa or my husband, that it would not have been the beautiful, peaceful birth that it was. 24.5 hrs after my water broke I delivered a heathy baby girl into my husbands arms while Alyssa held my hand!! She was so prepared for anything. Snacks and drinks on hand, helping me figure out different positions to get comfortable in, foot massages, and tens machine!! Showing my husband ways to be hands on to help me and a great go between with the nurses while I focused on my labor!! She also went above and beyond by taking pictures and recording everything in a book. She was and is such a blessing and so special to our family!! She is a must for anyone wanting a peaceful birth! I promise you won't be sorry!!
My third pregnancy was a surprise to say the least, when I found out I immediately called Alyssa to hire her as my doula. Having had two previous c-sections I had a lot of questions on VBACs and Alyssa was there to answer every single one. Alyssa is dedicated to making sure the mom is comfortable in all decisions, never once did I feel judged or pressured into making a birth decision. Alyssa was there ready and waiting for my two "false alarms" and then by my side in triage for my scheduled caesarean. During my birth she was in the O.R. on one side and my husband on the other, because of Alyssa I have AMAZING pictures of my baby girl being brought into this world. I insisted on skin to skin and nursing while being closed up, Alyssa was right there holding my sweet girl and helping her latch for the first time. I have had two other caesareans and this one by far was the best, the difference was Alyssa, I will never give birth again without her by my side. I am also five months into my breastfeeding journey with my daughter because of the post partum support I received after my birth - this is longest I have ever breastfed and I owe a good chunk of this success to Alyssa as well, when I wanted to quit she was right there to help me get through it. Alyssa isn't just doula, she is a wealth of knowledge, professionalism and love for your family wrapped into one package. She is the best there is period.
I had an amazing experience with Alyssa as my doula. Before my birth she went over different types of births..natural,c-section,water birth ect. to determine which type of birth I desired. She gave me information and access to a birth plan and I could choose exactly what I wanted and she made very sure my wishes were met. During my labor she helped me through the contractions and used her own techniques to help with the pain. She is very calm and makes sure that you are very comfortable or as comfortable as you can be during labor! Lol she never pushes a mom to do anything they don't want to do. She is extremely professional and I would recommend her to any pregnant women who are seeking the perfect doula! To say how AMAZING she is at what she does is an understatement because she really goes over and beyond from my experience with her!
Alyssa was there for me every step of the way! She was there through the pregnancy, labor and even when I came home with my son Donovan. Anytime I had concerns or questions she promptly responded! Even if u have the best husband u need her too! My husband was amazing during my birth, but a woman can relate, and extra pair of hands can help, she is kind helpful and very professional! She made my birthing experience so much more than it would have been Without her! She provided my husband with knowledge and hints on what to do during the birth, she did everything according to the birth plan I made! Every obstacle I encountered she was there to help and every time I wanted to give up she and my husband calmed me down and helped me through it! If you are considering a doula and do not call her you are absolutely making a mistake!
