Tami was the perfect fit for my husband and I. We were planning for a natural, unmedicated birth. Our first son was born after a short 4 hour labor and delivery so we had a feeling it would be that way again! We were wrong. Our labor and deliver was very emotional and very scary. We ended up having an emergency c-section after having a prolapsed umbilical cord. Tami was the calm and gentle presence we needed. She was our voice of reason as well as support when we needed to make difficult, emotional decisions. It was the scariest night of my life and she helped in being there for not only for me, but my husband. I was rushed into the OR to deliver our baby and Tami stayed with my husband the entire time. It was reassuring to have someone that we knew was there only for us.
I would work with Tami again in a heartbeat if we decided to have another baby.
I have to say having Tami as my Doula greatly improved my confidence with being pregnant. She was helpful to me and my partner and got along very well with my doctor and nurses. I enjoyed having her by my side as I delivered my baby girl. If we decide to have another baby we will differently call you!! Thank you Tami!
I became acquainted with Tami through a social worker at Catholic Charities. My social worker knew my apprehension about going into labor and delivering by myself given that I am a single parent. When I met Tami and learned that she had successfully given birth to eight kids of her own, I was confident that she would be able to guide me through this process as a first time parent.
Tami graciously attended all my birthing classes with me. She provided me with templates for my birthing plan. In addition, when I had to be induced at 37 weeks for medical reasons, she provided me with a patient bill of rights for my interactions with the medical professionals and adjusted her schedule to be available for me.
My induction lasted over three days. Tami stayed with me that whole entire time in the hospital. She provided advice and support when I needed it. During active labor, I experienced muscle spasms in one of my thighs which she massaged for several hours until I delivered my son before two in the morning.
If someone is seeking a Doula, I would highly recommend Tami. I credit Tami for ensuring my labor and delivery experience was a positive one. Tami is a compassionate person who reserves judgement. Her concern is for her client and that the client is knowledgeable about all her options. I'm glad that I had Tami present as a support person.
I met Tami during my third trimester and I instantly felt like she would be a perfect doula for me. She had a very calming presence and was well educated on different pain relief techniques.
After I was admitted to the Labor and Delivery room I remember thinking, "I don't really want to do this right now. I just want to get the epidural." And then I remembered Tami was was on her way and I thought, "I'll wait until Tami gets here." I knew she would be able to help! Tami arrived a few minutes after we did.
My labor went very smooth and fast and I am so grateful that just the thought of Tami coming kept me on coarse to have the birth I wanted. Tami was a wonderful support; her presence was quiet, calm and peaceful, exactly what I wanted and needed during this experience.
