I'm Madie, I am a mother to 2 children, and wife of a musician. After having my daughter (Addison) and later experiencing a miscarriage, I found that I was guided to doing this work. I did my training and from then on I have supported families, had my 2nd child (Duke) and have continued to be amazed by the power women have and the support their partners bring. This work truly never gets old. My birth experiences were so different from each other and I truly believe there is no "right way". The things I want to bring as a doula are helping you recognize what is important to you and do everything possible to make sure that you leave the experience feeling informed, empowered, and supported.

Madie is amazing! Hiring Madie made all the difference in how I was approaching the birth of my second child. She encouraged me and reminded me my birth experience was my own and that I had choices when it came to the birth experience I was hoping to have. During the prenatal we chatted and had a fun time getting to know each other and she answered any questions I had, addressed my concerns, and befriended me. It is because of her that I was able to maintain a confidence in my body and spirit during labor, through focusing on my breathing and relaxation techniques. I am grateful that Madie was also available to come to our home about 1 week after Miles was born to see how we were doing. It felt great knowing I had that support, as there are a lot of unknowns and unexpected things that come up during the post-partum period sometimes. Madie was truly irreplaceable and I am grateful for everything she stands for and does to better the experiences of birth.

Paula and Madie are an exceptional doula team! I would highly recommend them to everyone. They are very knowledgeable, kind, flexible and essential for any birth. I had my first child unexpectedly at 32 weeks, and Paula was willing to attend my birth on a few minutes notice. I'll never forget the peace and strength that empowered me as soon as Paula entered the room. She explained what was happening and calmed me and helped me through an unmedicated birth. Madie additionally provided breastfeeding support. Madie came to the hospital right after we called her to explain techniques I could use to relieve the pain I was experiencing. Paula and Madie also helped me process and grieve the loss of a normal pregnancy and birth. Their support has given me the greatest gift; I am forever grateful and humbled by their work. I wish I could give them the most highly regarded award, but the second best thing I can give them in return is a 10 out of 10 rating.

Madie attended the birth of my second son Canaan at the St Cloud Hospital on August 28th, 2015.  She arrived at 8 pm the evening before and we enjoyed a nice time of discussion during the milder part of my labor.  Madie and my other doula Paula, encouraged me to rest and they patiently waited as my labor progressed.  We labored at my home for most of the night and the next morning went to the hospital at 0630 am.  During that time at home they helped me time my contractions, provided counter pressure, massage and used essential oils for relaxation.  When we entered the hospital the intensity of my labor was increasing and Madie helped by working through breathing techniques and position changes.  Even though she's a tiny woman, she had a lot of strength and I loved her calming presence.  Madie was so easy to talk with and had such a relaxing presence in the labor and delivery room.  Fantastic job Madie!
