We had such a great experience with Sara. We used her a few nights a week when we got home from the hospital with our first born. She was not only great with our son, but she was also great with me. She helped me with breast feeding issues, tricks for putting our son to sleep, swaddling, tricks to deal with the babies gas and so much more (pretty much any new mom questions that I had). With our son, she was WONDERFUL. He slept better on nights she was there (and so did we!) and she was always able to calm him down so quickly. She was always punctual on the nights she came. She was also great because she let us text her to ask questions on nights she was not there. We loved Sara so much we tried to schedule her to help us with sleep training when our son was 4 mo. Sadly, she had moved to Chicago so it didn't workout. However, she let me ask her about a million questions over text and phones calls about sleep training so that we would be prepared to master it on our own. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Sara did an amazing job looking after our son. She adapted to our complicated life (living in 2 cities) and was always on time. A couple of times she offered to stay a few minutes longer so that she could put him back to bed which was absolutely well above and beyond of what I would expect after an 8 hours nightshift - especially given that many mornings she had a 45min drive back home.
Her insights and debriefs of the night before were always extremely useful and educational. Her calm and friendly demeanor and her confidence was exactly what we needed in the first few weeks. After taking our son overseas when he was 6 weeks old she worked her magic getting him adjusted back to CA time while we didn't have to deal with a jet-lagged baby in the middle of the night whilst being jet-lagged ourselves.
No doubt Sara was the reason that everyone was amazed that we looked so refreshed with a newborn.
While she looked after our son, three of her siblings had babies so we also enjoyed getting to know Sara on a more personal level which was a real joy.
I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a night doula!
Highly recommend Sara! Although we had other children, this was our first time working with a night doula and our experience with Sara couldn't have been better. She is nurturing, patient, and flexible. She really knows what she's doing and gave helpful advice even to an experienced mother. By the end of her time with us, Sara managed to get our baby's feedings down to once a night which made sleep training later on 10 times easier. Thanks to Sara, we got much needed sleep and peace of mind that helped us adjust to having a new baby in the family!
Sara is fantastic. She is super knowledgeable and caring. I have a baby that was born two months early and on oxygen 24/7. I really wanted to have a knowledgeable person watching him at night so I could get rest and sanity while dealing with his preemie issues. She offered to come meet us in the NICU and meet the nurses to help us transition. I wasn't ready to trust just anybody with my preemie and her soothing, responsive, and competent approached worked well for us. She's worked not just with preemies and many many infants but also does sleep training. She has a fantastic way with infants who seem to understand her prescence and calm. She offered to help with baths and generally made us feel at ease. She's got a zillion great tips from breast-feeding to milk storage to sleep training. I reccomend her highly.
