Doula Care Postpartum Service and Brenna were absolute lifesavers after the birth of our second daughter. Ruth was so responsive and organized in helping us set everything up and after meeting Brenna I felt worlds better about the impending birth. Knowing that I had the support of a wonderful, compassionate, experienced woman to help me navigate the post-partum period (which has been really challenging with my first child) put me at ease. Once our daughter was born, we were told that she likely had a significant health problem and Brenna was there to help me manage the stress and confusion of it all. She was a great listener, organzied, and knew exactly how to do things around the house that made the environment calmer. She was there to help us learn how to use the small space of our apartment more effectively with two kids and made wonderful meals. I only wish I had had Brenna the first time and would whole heartedly recommend her and Doula Care Postpartum to anyone who is brining home a baby!

I am SO grateful and thrilled that we found Doula Care. Ruth and her company are thorough, thoughtful, and very professional.  But moreover, our postpartum doula Kesha was AMAZING. To say she saved us would not be an exaggeration! We moved across the country with a refluxy, colic-y, non-sleeping infant, and once we arrived in New York Kesha helped us get our baby healthy, eating well, and on the right track. She took truly excellent care of him on overnights, and gave us great recommendations for local rsources and many other things, such as feeding techniques. She is SO knowledgable. My husband and I trusted Kesha totally, which helped us to finally get some rest after a rough few months. Kesha will make your life and your child's life so much better! I cannot recommend her highly enough.

After a friend recommended Doula Care I spoke with Ruth about the Doula my friend used, Kesha, and we decided to meet her. We instantly had a connection with Kesha that I did not find with baby nurses or other after birth care providers. Kesha was warm, knowledgable, fun, and calming.

Originally we went with just an hourly plan in place. Kesha met us when we got home from the hospital to get us set up and helped identify things we were missing (everything!!!). After we did the first night home alone, we quickly realized we needed support. We called Ruth at Doula Care and she promised us we would have someone from her team with us that night- we were so lucky that Kesha was able to come and help us through. We had so many questions and concerns. We were tired and flustered. Ruth and Kesha honestly saved us!

In the weeks after delivery, we had a very hard time with breastfeeding. Kesha guided me through all the craziness of those moments- from engorgement to hand expressing to setting up my pump. She taught me how to do it all and feel comfortable doing it. She helped with additional holds and spent hours making sure I was getting it right. She also correctly identified a lip and tongue tie and recommended a doctor for us to see which ended up making our breastfeeding experience possible.

Kesha helped take care of me, ensuring I got rest, water, and food. She checked in with my husband as well and taught us a lot fo tricks that we still use, 5 months in!

Even after Kesha was here, she has been a resource and we remain in touch. Dealing with Ruth was so easy- she is quick to reply and as accommodating as the service allows. We had an amazing experience and will continue to recommend them in the future!

Working with Kathy, our doula through Doula Care Postpartum Service NYC, allowed us to have a positive and relatively stress free transition into parthood. Kathy was a constant source of support and knowledge. She had an amazing way of delivering information in a research proven, practical, non-judgmental way. My husband and I had expected that by working with a doula we would gain knowledge that would help us care for our baby and provide us with support during the early weeks. What we didn't expect was that working with Kathy would ultimately make us feel confident in our abilities as new parents. This was indeed the best outcome we could imagine.

My doula searched ended as soon as I had an initial meeting with Kim Kushner. Kim helped me through a difficult recovery and I only wish that I used their services immediately after the hospital instead of waiting a few weeks. Kim was amazing with both me and my child;  she empowered me on how to better soothe my baby with amazing tips and advice. She has such a positive energy that was much needed during the transition.  She truly cares about the families that she works with and I feel so fortunate to have met her. I would highly recommend Kim to anyone that needs postpartum doula services!

Andrea and I had an excellent experience with Ruth at Doula Care through which we worked with Kesha King as baby nurse upon the arrival of our son Will.  Both Ruth and Kesha were absolute professionals and a pleasure to deal with.  I would highly recommend both of them to any new parent.   Their services were top notch and worth every penny.

My wife Alicia and I are very pleased to have had Brenna Griffin's support through Doula Care.  Brenna was a great teacher of newborn-care techniques, and presented helpful options for breastfeeding and bottlefeeding, for safe co-sleeping, for baths, for baby-wearing, and for Alicia's recovery.  Her recommendations were always evidence-based.

Just as important, Brenna combined this expertise in technique with a calm and supportive presence which made us feel more confident as first-time parents by the end of each visit.  We really appreciated this effect, and looked forward to each of her visits.

We are sure we made the right decision to engage Doula Care rather than going it alone.  Having a calm expert on hand certainly improved our sanity during the sleepless newborn weeks.

I had a wonderful postpartum experience with Simone B. Over the course of my first 2 weeks at home, she made 5 visits and got me set up successfully with breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, dry sponge baths, newborn care and baby carrier techniques. Every visit, I had new questions and she would patiently answer them and if possible show me how it's done. Having a great postpartum doula like Simone really boosted my confidence and helped get set up for success. Simone was very flexible and accommodating with her schedule. She was also very practical and didn't try and force and ways of parenting on me. She listened to what I needed and advised accordingly. Simone was also easy to be around and while I was feeding my baby, would keep busy by tidying up the kitchen or helping fold clothes. Basically, she would support me any way that was needed. I would highly recommend her and her organization Doula Care for any new mom that needs a bit of extra help getting set up.

Great service from the point I contacted Doula Care to the actual doula herself. Ruth was very informative and prompt in responding to my request and setting up interviews with potential doulas immediately. The doula whom I selected in the end was not just extremely professional and knowledgeable but also very warm, caring and personable, which I felt was very important when handling a newborn. She also had an excellent work ethic and was proactive in offering help / thinking of things she could do to help when there was "down time". All in all a great experience with the Doula Care Service.

Ruth Callahan sent two great women to me and my husband to interview as postpartum doulas. The process was straightforward, simple, and I was able to specify my needs. While both women were exceptional and highly qualified, they were also very different, which allowed us to choose someone who was really the right match for our personalities. Our postpartum doula exceeded our highest expectations. She came to us the day after we returned from the hospital and worked with me to alleviate my anxieties and most importantly build my confidence as a new mom. She was there for me to talk to about all of my feelings, and also provided essental tools for how to care for my new baby: nursing -- proper latching, different positions -- changing diapers, infant masage and soothing techniques, bathing, pumping, how to use my baby carrier; she even helped me sort through all of the gifts and clothing we received! She would watch the baby so I could shower, rub my shoulders, legs and feet, and make me my favorite breakfast while I relaxed with my baby. She also would speak to my husband and me together to talk about things like parenting philosophies, and about how to manage the changes a baby has on the couple dynamic. She nurtured me which allowed me to nurture my baby and gave me the tools to be the the best mom I can be. My husband and I -- and our baby -- will always be greateful for what she has done for us as a family
