Marta is saved in my phone as "Magic Marta." I am a first-time mom, and experienced a somewhat difficult pregnancy at an older age. Marta was kind enough to serve as our night nurse for a few nights after we returned home from the hospital. She was kind, non-judgemental, reasonable and practical, and generally wonderful to have around. As any mom can attest, the first few days of motherhood are a tough gauntlet, especially for someone who isn't sure they know what they're doing (read: all moms). Marta was an invaluable resource for us - she fully took charge of making sure we get as much as sleep as humanly possible, and during our waking hours, she was on hand in an educational capacity. I can say with a great deal of certainty that if it hadn't been for her, I'm not entirely sure that my son would have started nursing successfully (again, as most moms, I was wildly underprepared for breastfeeding after a tertiary appointment with the lactation consultant in the hospital). Additionally, Marta's super genuine and sweet bedside manner made me feel that there was no question too big, small, stupid, or underinformed. When you're freaking out, that's exactly what you need by your side. Marta is beyond knowledgeable, and incredibly confident (with good reason). She was truly a godsend during that tenuous time, and I am now proud to call her a valued friend. I recommend her 20/10.

I cannot recommend Marta enough!! My husband and I were so nervous to bring our first home from the hospital but Marta made us feel comfortable right away, looking after our little guy with such love and care while also teaching us the skills and great tips we would need so we could feel confident looking after him ourselves too. And on top of all that, she really helped me as I recovered from the delivery and helped my husband learn how to best support me while also looking after the baby. She aided us in finding a new rhythm and building a strong foundation as a new family unit that works together and supports each other and it's a foundation we've come to rely heavily on. I honestly do not know what we would have done without her. I should also mention how much of a calming influence she was leading up to the birth - she checked in on me frequently and kindly looked over our registry and helped us wade through all the noise around what to buy, so we only ended up having stuff we really needed (which was a huge money and space saver!) Marta is a sweet, nurturing, caring person who knows her stuff. If we ever have another one, she will be our first call!

Marta is very professional and anyways on time. Her skills helped us to take care of our first baby without any family support. She was always very compassionate and open to any questions and methods that we wanted to highlighted and never felt a forceful method when she helped us.

Marta worked with us overnight when we brought our twins home from the NICU after a month. I truly don't know what we would have done without her--we savored every night she was with us, knowing the boys were in good hands and we could turn off our brains until the next morning. We chose to stagger the nights but all in all we had Marta a few nights a week for a couple months. It is definitely not easy taking care of two newborns in the night, but she was amazing and was able to even wear one in a carrier while feeding the other one. We are sure they felt well taken care of. Marta also was super communicative leading up to their birth, which of course is tought to know for sure when it will be. Once they were born and we realized we didn't know when they'd leave the NICU, she was equally helpful and patient and ensured us she would be available or would be able to help find coverage if she wasn't. Luckily she was still free when they came home, but we also used an associate of hers here and there when we asked about dates Marta herself wasn't free for and she was amazing too--with Marta you get a whole network and are so taken care of. We are still in touch more than a year later and she will always be a huge part of our early memories with our twins. We've refered her to many other people since, and highly recommend to you!

Marta is an incredibly talented postpartum doula.  She worked with my family for close to 12 weeks covering the nights, and I would not have survived without her.  This was my second baby, and I knew after my first baby, I would need help with the nights.  I had a night nurse that fell asleep holding my first child, and since then, it was hard to me to trust someone with my baby overnight.  We found Marta, and from the first night she started with us, I felt immediately at ease.  She is passionate about what she does and is so knowledgeable about babies and sleep - I was always learning something new about how to tweak our daughter's sleep environment / routine so that we all got the best sleep possible.  We would always chat when we first arrived, and it was so comforting to have someone to update on the challenges of the day and get her advice/feedback/support.  She was always super responsive via text too, and it was so helpful to have her support on the days she wasn't with us to help survive! She also helped me find a carrier that worked for me and got me started in using it, and it helped so much in getting things done / going out with my newborn (she still loves the carrier to this day)! She loves babies and has an amazing sense of humor, and I feel so lucky to have had her help.  I truly think she made all the difference in my ability to enjoy my maternity leave.

My hudband and I cannot appreciate Marta more for helping us out during my first postpartum month. Marta came over to our apartment on the first day we were discharged from the hospital. I still remember how chaotic it was especially during the first two weeks - our first baby had a tongue tie issue and was not able to latch well, therefore I had to learn to pump last minute instead of brestfeeding. Marta taught me and set up a routine for me to increase my milk supply, and with our baby's tongue tie issue resolved through surgery, I was eventually able to exclusively breastfeeding. Marta was a huge support in this process - she cleaned up pump and bottle supplies, she gave practical suggestions on how-tos, and she made lactation snacks and drinks for me. Besides, Marta helped us out with laundry, set up a super convenient diaper changing table, and most importantly, gave me some time alone by taking care of the baby. There were so much more that she did during the weeks we had her. I just wanted to say that she was not only a helper, but also a teacher, a companion, and a supporter. I have so many great things to say about her - professional, caring, knowledgeable, and friendly. I would highly recommend Marta to anyone especially those who are having their first born.

We've just completed our hours with Marta and I'm sad they're over. Marta was an incredible support to me - both practically and emotionally, affording me rest, reassurance, information about baby care, and helping to take care of my household while she was here. I think Marta's support was a large part of why I felt so much better in this early postpartum period than I did after my first baby was born - and I am so grateful for her. She clearly takes her work very seriously, and engaged deeply with baby and me (and my toddler), as well as took care of some stuff around the house which helped my husband and I feel less overwhelmed in the weeks she was here. But, don't get me wrong - not too seriously: Marta clearly loves to laugh and brought me laughter in the tender early days too. If you're thinking of reaching out to Marta, don't hesitate!

Finding Marta was a true blessing. Exactly what we needed as exhausted and overwhelmed first time parents. She was positive and empathetic and we trusted her right from the start to look after us and our baby. She gave us tips on how to bath him, breastfeeding and how to cut his nails. She reassured us we were doing a great job and she looked after our little one overnight so we could get some rest. Everyone needs a Marta after giving birth. I have no hesitation in recommendation her.

Marta is brilliant and the best professional I've ever hired.

We welcomed twins at 34 weeks in January of 2021 and I had some life threatening complications necessitating a 2 week hospital stay. After 5 grueling weeks at home without help, my lactation consultant recommended Marta. We were unbelievably lucky Marta had availability.

When Marta arrived the twins were growing well, but the adults were falling apart from a lack of selfcare and my milk production was minimal. Marta intuited what a baby or parent needed, responded appropriately and put the long term interest of the family above her own. She genuinely cared for the whole family unit and took great pride in her work. Many childcare providers will take the easy way out by gratuitiously rocking, holding or feeding a baby to sleep. Marta has excellent judgment as to the needs of the infant and when rocking or holding is appropriate vs. when a baby is capable of self soothing and honing their burgeoning independence. Marta sought sustainable solutions for the family and we didn't need to sleep train thanks to her! She cared for my twins and took care of my apartment as though they were her own and goes above and beyond for her clients. She is passionate about newborn development and keeps current on the topic with recent publications in the space (she was reading The Discontented Little Baby for fun when she was with us) as well as the CDC, WHO and AAP's safety guidelines.

By the time Marta left I was sleeping 6 hrs/night, tandem breastfeeding, the twins had learned to be excellent sleepers for their age, she had taught me invaluable lessons on newborn development (feeding, sleeping, enrichment) and I felt like I had a true friend and mom mentor in Marta. I cherished our nightly talks on the couch.

If we have more children I plan to book Marta as soon as there is a positive pregnancy test as some of her former clients have also done.

I cannot recommend Marta enough - she helped us so much during the early days with our daughter. She immediately got us set up in a rhythm with feeding, napping, etc and showed us exactly what to do and that really set us up for success. We still say that our baby is a great sleeper because Marta set us up so well in the early days. She really simplified the whole process for us so we didn't feel overwhelmed at all and by the time she left, we felt confident that we could handle our new baby on our own.

Marta was our postpartum doula and she is amazing! She is incredibly kind, caring, supportive and knowledgeable.  My husband and I were lost as new first time parents, but thanks to Marta we quickly were able to feel more confident in parenthood.  She was always there to answer any question I had, no matter how silly I thought it may be.  She was also not only focused on helping to provide the best care for my daughter, but also on making sure I felt supported and cared for as a new Mom. She was there with encouraging kind words on tough days, and there to celebrate with me on the good days. I cannot recommend Marta highly enough!

Having Marta as our postpartum doula was an absolutely amazing and positive experience. The difference between doing it ourselves and having Marta there was the difference between day and night. Initially we were going to just have her come a few hours in the daytime but being new parents we did not realize how difficult nights with a newborn would be. Marta made our experience much more tolerable and pleasant. I did not realize how difficult sleep deprivation would be until I went through it. I would describe having an overnight postpartum doula as being luxurious. It takes away a lot of the stress and hardship of having a newborn. Having more sleep has a big effect on your mental well being. Because I was breastfeeding, I would spend one hour, every other hour, feeding, pumping, cleaning the parts and trying to put the baby back to sleep. To save that extra time made a big difference. Marta is a super sweet person as well and did her job perfectly. I cannot name a single con about our experience with her. I will absolutely make sure to hire her for the next baby. We had her for two weeks but I would have had her for a month if she weren’t booked after us. Thank you Marta!

First of all I have to tell that I'm from Thailand. I have been here 3 yearsand do not have family in the U.S. Before I had my baby I thought I couldhandle it alone, but after I gave birth I realized how difficult it was. Then my husband found Marta for me. Martabecame my night nurse from when my daughter was just three days old untilfour months. To me it hard to trust someone to take care of my baby especially since I’m from another country but with Marta I felt extremely safe.
Marta also gave me baby guidance but did not push me to do anything I wasn’t comfortable with. She became my advisor, friend and member of my family that I trust. She gave her ideas, solutions or just shared her stories then I could fix an issue by myself.  Sherealizes every baby (and parent) isdifferent and adjusts accordingly based on her extensive experience.
I gained more confidence and learned extensively from Marta. She helped me successfully breastfeed andalso use a bottle. My baby became a great sleeper and is all around very well adjusted and very happy.  Marta thank you so much, we miss you!!

I consider Marta our “angel doula.”

As a first-time mom, living across the country from both families, of course my husband and I were feeling nervous and clueless about bringing home our first baby.

Marta was the perfect person to have in our home the day we arrived home from the hospital. Coming home from the hospital can feel really overwhelming, but Marta helped us all get settled in nicely and start our new life together with confidence.

i had some postpartum anxiety and she handled that with warmth, grace, and reassurance. I also was not able to move much due to some birth injuries, and she was great about instructing my husband on how to get everything set up at home, including how to properly feed, bathe, and care for our newborn.

Marta is a certified lactation consultant, so she was also helpful to troubleshoot my breastfeeding issues and get that on the road to success. We covered topics like different positions, pumping, using bottles, and checking for things like clogged ducts and mastitis.

We didn’t know this when we hired Marta, but she is also trained in baby-wearing! So she showed us how to baby-wear properly and ergonomically, preventing problems in advance that often discourage parents from baby-wearing.

I also really appreciated how Marta was good about supporting my husband and me as a team, so that we were learning together. It was great bonding for my husband and me to learn together under Marta, and set a good foundation to start our new life as a family.

I would recommend Marta to everyone I know as a postpartum doula, no question about it!

I worked with Marta for a private babywearing consultation.  I had purchased a baby carrier but was never confident that my then 3-1/2 month old was comfortable and safe.  Marta brought every carrier under the sun with her to my apartment, and we tried each one with my baby to see what was most comfortable for both of us. After she left, I felt confident wearing my baby (assured he was comfortable, safe, and could breathe properly), and without back pain. She was patient, informative, sweet, and so helpful!

Marta was our post partum doula for our first baby (little girl) this past May. She was an absolute angel and the best thing that happened to us post baby. Marta was nurturing and super insightful. She was also wonderful with our baby and wonderful with me. She taught me so many tricks and made me feel confident as I navigated my way thru an unfamiliar process. I highly recommend working with her - I can’t speak more highly of Marta!

Marta is a kind, friendly and patient person. She came to us as a postpartum doula to help with breastfeeding, baby wearing and overall newborn care. After spending time with Marta, I felt much more comfortable using baby carriers (Moby and Ergo, although she has experience with all kinds), which allowed me to get out and about more often. As a first time mom, Marta's advice and knowledge of newborns helped me feel more confident as a mother with our son (he was just over 2 months at the time). It is obvious how much Marta loves children and our son took to her immediately. I also felt comfortable with Marta right away. She is funny and easy to talk to. She is also quite a chef! I was going through an elimination diet as my son had some digestive issues. Marta made us a fantastic soup that my husband and I enjoyed. Marta is up to date on all the newborn gear and practices. I wholeheartedly recommend Marta as a doula!

I met Marta for the first time in the middle of the night while I was in labor with my first baby. It was an unusual labor, and her warm smile and calm confidence immediately put me at ease. She helped me labor at home for hours, suggesting new positions, and providing tireless support. She told me her own birth stories, and told me about her children. By morning my labor patterns were still very unusual, and she helped me make the decision to go to the hospital when I was a bit panicky and indecisive, informing me of my options.

What I will always remember most, however, was her incredible help at the hospital (NUMC). I had originally hoped for a totally natural birth, but it was becoming clear that an intervention-free birth was not going to happen. She talked me through interventions such as nipple stimulation, rounds of Cytotec, a cervical balloon catheter, Pitocin, and eventually an epidural after. She had my back the whole time.

After the epidural and Pitocin, things took a scary turn, as my body started shaking uncontrollably, and my baby’s heart rate started to slow. At this point, I had been awake and in labor for nearly 48 hours, and was exhausted. Marta immediately jumped into action, turning the heart rate monitor screen away from me so I could not see it. She held my hand, did everything she could to keep me awake, and took control of coaching my breathing every time my baby’s heart rate started to drop, keeping me calm, and more importantly, helping my baby get oxygen. It was a moment where I needed someone to take charge, and she sensed that and did it without hesitation.

The doctors soon raced in declaring the need for an emergency c-section. Marta was my solid rock as the surgical team wheeled me out of the labor room. She gave me the confidence I needed to get through it. I will never forget her amazing care on my son’s birth day, and am forever grateful to her.

Marta was our doula with my first child and her expertise, kindness, and warmth helped our daughter to enter the world healthy and happy. At the delivery Marta’s breastfeeding support was crucial to our first latch as when the nursing staff was concerned with medical matters, Marta ensured our baby started feeding immediately, which was key to our successful breastfeeding since that moment. After delivery we had Marta work with us post-partum where her expertise in baby wearing helped us to baby wear her since she was 1 week old and there’s still no other place our daughter would rather be! We cannot imagine Marta not being a part of our journey to new parenthood and recommend her very highly!

Marta is incredible. She knew just what to do, and how to ask what needed to be done. When I brought my twins home from the hospital, my husband and I, and our toddler, were completely lost. Marta helped us acclimate to our new reality in the most gentile way. She is caring, compassionate, and extremely knowledgable in all things postpartum. Her passion for her work translates in the care she provides to the whole family. I could not give Marta a stronger recommendation!

Marta was wonderful. She was caring and supportive throughout the whole birth experience. My birth was long - 26 hours. Marta stayed with us the whole time, comforted and motivated me to keep going and reminding me of the great reward at the end of it. She equally encouraged my husband and we both felt that her presence had a very positive impact on our experience. I can recommend Marta highly to anyone who is looking for a committed and non-judgmental, warm and caring doula. I would have definitely considered her as my postpartum doula as well but then had my mom join us for a few weeks. I wish her all the best and will recommend her to my friends.

I cannot speak highly enough of Marta as a postpartum doula!  I have arthritis and a baby with reflux who needs to be held upright for long stretches of time.  Marta came to my rescue, helping to hold my baby so that he could nap and feel the comfort he needed.  She is the guru of babywearing and did a wonderful job of holding my son in the wrap (which he loves)!  She also helped me to gain confidence all the while I was also gaining strength again during my recovery (a recovery that took a lot longer than I expected!)  She was always helpful in ways I hadn't even anticipated: with housework and preparing delicious items my husband and I relished (for example, beet yogurt and marinated chicken!).  Most importantly, she is a wonderful teacher who shared her knowledge about babycare and breastfeeding, all of which I desperately needed.  My son loves Marta and smiled exuberantly when she visited!  Our whole family benefited immensely.

Marta was a great Doula. She was with me and my husband for support before, during and after birth. She was extremely helpful during the time she worked with me and my husband. Although the birth did not go the way I wanted she was supportive and stood by us doing everything she coud to make the process more bearable.

Marta has been a pleasure to work with for the times that we have met she has been very supportive partner emotionally.  She has eased my heart in terms of all the questions that I had with delivery on the type of experience and my concerns with breast-feeding and just an overall plan for when my twins would Be delivered. My husband also really enjoyed her presence during our delivery as she created a calm atmosphere for the both of us he was able to interact with the babies and check up on the babies while I was in recovery and he wasn't worried at all because he knew that she was around to take care of my needs.  I look forward to the next couple of building that bond as well.
