Wow is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about how Rachel helped me birth my precious baby boy. There is no way I would have been able to do it without her. My husband comes from a country where man are not ty involved with the birthing process so Rachel was like my husband lol. She was so caring, encouraging and she made me trust my body so that I could successfully birth my son without a cesarean. I would recommend Rachel to ANYONE having a baby. If Allah blesses me with another pregnancy I pray to him that I have her by my side. She is truly HEAVEN SENT??????
My husband and I hired Rachel for the birth of our third child and I can't say enough good things about her! From the moment that we met her we knew she was our perfect doula, we were so comfortable with her and you can tell that she is so passionate about her job. We had two meetings with her throughout my pregnancy to get prepared for a natural birth and she made is both feel really confident that we would be successful. Her knowledge of how to help a laboring woman totally blew us away. I also met with her a third time for a belly casting, which was a really awesome experience and a good chance for us to bond before my labor. When my labor started Rachel came over to my house to help me through my contractions before we went to the hospital. When we got to the hospital things really started getting intense and it was so comforting to have Rachel there helping and supporting me and constantly reminding me that I could do it. The day after we came home from the hospital Rachel came over to see how we were doing and also to encapsulate my placenta, which was really amazing to watch. Rachel is totally amazing and we are so grateful to have had her support throughout my pregnancy and during our birth. If we have any more children, we will absolutely be hiring Rachel again!
Angel Rachel, as we call her, was the doula for the birth mother of our son. She was our angel. With the consent of the birth mother, she kept us up-to-date on developments/appointments with our son, prior to his birth. She went above and beyond the role of any doula and was a gift from God to us during this process. During the labor and delivery, she was there 100% for the birth mother, and for me, his adoptive mother. She communicated with the hospital to ensure that all parties involved were comfortable, confidentiality was maintained, and that everyone’s needs were being met. I cannot recommend her enough. She truly is a gift from God that helped to make our birth experience the best experience of my life so far.
I really dont know where to start when it comes to saying how amazing Rachel was for me as a doula. She was there every second I needed her. She gave me pep talks when I needed them during pregnancy as being pregnant and going past 40 weeks isn't easy mentally or physically. She helped keep my eyes on the prize of trying for my vbac. Rachel came to my house when I was in early labor and helped keep me company giving me encouragement through contractions. When at the hospital she made sure everything I wanted was honored and every question I clearly understood so I could make an informed choice. She was my rock along with my husband. She went above and beyond the call of duty. When sadly no matter what we did I needed a RCS she was there. She supported me. I was at peace with everything I got my chance to labor how I wanted thanks to her support. I couldn't of made it 42 hours of labor without her. I went 24 hours with my waters broken in the hospital she was there the whole time. She was with me from 9pm Friday night until about 9am Sunday if not longer. She helped me post op with breastfeeding knowing that's what I wanted and I was very out of it due to the medications I had been given. We went through hell and back. I not only gained an amazing birth thanks to her but I also gained a life long friend. She has even been there for me postpartum with breastfeeding issues due to a lip tie and possible tongue tie. I can't express enough how much she ment and means to me on so many levels. If and when we decide to have more kids I will make sure Rachael is again there even if I will have a planned c.s. If your looking for a doula to walk along by your side, to encourage you and give you strength when you have none then she's a perfect fit for you.
Rachel was amazing! She was available 24/7 throughout the time I had with her. She stayed with me throughout the whole labor which was 15 plus hours. She also wrote a detailed summary of our birthijg experience that way we can remember it for years to come. She was professional, accommodating and easy to talk to. She made me feel comfortable throughout the entire journey. My experience was better having her by my side.
My experience with Rachel was wonderful. From our first meeting I felt very comfortable with her. She helped me with a birth plan that I felt was appropriate. During labor she was attentive to my needs and did whatever she could to help with the labor pains. If I would ever have another baby I would definitely use her again
Rachel is an awesome doula! My wife and I met with a few doulas looking for somebody we felt comfortable with. Within minutes of meeting Rachel we knew we found our doula!
Rachel is knowledgeable and has a passion for the miracle of birth. She listened to our birth plan, made notes and provided plenty of information to help us make decisions. When it came time to go to the hospital Rachel really went into action. As the dad it was great having a partner with me that cared about the well-being of my wife. She used numerous techniques to provide her comfort during labor. Rachel also did a great job interacting with the nursing staff. I can't imagine not having Rachel on our birth team. I highly recommend Rachel!
My husband & I had attended a childbirth class at Pinnacle Hospital, where they mentioned the different services a doula can provide. Being our first child we liked the idea of having someone there to help & support us. We were connected with Rachel through Om Baby. We met with several doulas, but ultimately picked Rachel because her laid back & friendly personality put us at ease and just “clicked”. At our second meeting she talked to us about what we were hoping for during the birth and gave us some great info, as well as things to think about and research so we could make informed decisions at my remaining doctor’s appointments and during labor. She kept in touch and checked on me via email & text. She also provided some helpful tips for getting my labor started since I was a week past my due date & didn’t want to be induced.
Once my labor started Rachel helped support my husband support me via text until it was time to go to the hospital. She met us at the hospital, where she continued her support. Rachel had a bunch of different techniques and suggestions that helped ease the contractions. When the doctor would come in and present options as my labor progressed Rachel was also great to help us talk through the decisions. When it came time to push, her encouragement and calm demeanor helped me concentrate and get the most out of each push. While her guidance helped my husband support me as well.
Once our daughter was born, Rachel helped get us started breastfeeding and making sure we were all doing well before leaving the hospital. A couple weeks after we got home, she came & met with us to see how we were all doing, as well as talk about the labor & birth. I really appreciated all her encouragement & support from the time we met and continuing now, even postpartum, and would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!
Rachel Stichler was my doula for the delivery of my baby boy on June 14th at Heart of Lancaster. I met Rachel through my sister Jessica as they are coworkers at Hershey Medical Center. I wasn’t planning on having a doula, but my sister mentioned to me that someone from her work offered to be mine if I was interested. I wasn’t sure about it because we had never met, but I couldn’t be happier with my decision to have Rachel there. We talked on the phone beforehand and she assured me that she was willing to do anything to help make the process easier.
I went in to be induced Saturday night and went into labor early Sunday morning. I contacted Rachel and she arrived shortly after. She has a very calming demeanor which was extremely helpful seeing as how this was my first child and I had not yet received an epidural. She jumped right in and started using different techniques to help ease my pain. The counter pressure she applied to my back helped tremendously. Anything she tried that I didn’t like, I told her and she immediately switched to
something that was more effective. Rachel was very encouraging and also helped me relay my concerns to the nurses. I really appreciated her taking some of the pressure off of my mom and sister who were also present for the delivery. My mom especially was really nervous to help me through the delivery by herself, but Rachel relieved some of that anxiety for everyone by stepping in during some of the particularly intense times.
She followed up with me after the delivery and still continues to check in on me and my baby. She was helpful while I was learning how to breastfeed and answered my frantic, sleep deprived texts quickly. Overall, I would absolutely recommend her. Rachel’s calm, soothing personality is what makes her a fantastic doula.
