During the first 30 of 40 hours of labor, I was unmedicated. My doulas, Sarah Geo Walton and Kristin Murray, just kept pushing me to believe in myself and assured me that I would get through it, that I was strong, that this is how women have given birth for millennia. It was so reassuring to have someone advocating for your birth plan (whatever that might be) through the whole process. Even when I was swelling after pushing for 2 hours with no movement of the little guy, and after the birth plan got sidetracked and we did an epidural and a nap at hour 30 to avoid a cesarean, I felt comforted and supported and on the right track thanks to the experience and wise coaching of the doulas at BrightHeart. We recommend them to all our pregnant friends! Furthermore, they handled our placenta encapsulation and home delivered them to us. They have kept in close contact with us even 3-months after I delivered my son and really feel more like friends than a service :)

As a first-time expecting father, having Sarah join us in our birth experience was a phenomenal experience. Prior to meeting Sarah, I harbored some of the common misgivings I hear from many dads-to-be. She set those concerns to rest - and how. My wife and I agree that Sarah was as great a supportive teammate in the birth process to me as she was to my wife - which is to say, incredibly supportive. There are many challenges and expectations new expecting fathers must cope with, and Sarah helped me navigate those hurdles and see the possibilities in our birth experience. Sarah has a gift for this work. If you are a father who wants to play a role in your partner's birth, but you don't have experience or much support in the birth process, Sarah will facilitate a positive birth for you and your partner. I also encourage you to support your partner in asking about Sarah's post-partum assistance and placenta management options, too! Having a doula is as much for the dad as for the mom, and Sarah made it possible for our experience to be as positive as it was!
Thank you, Sarah!

Sarah is a positive, motivated, and well-prepared doula. I would recommend her to anybody who is pregnant or has plans on becoming pregnant, as she is extremely beneficial to have for both the mother and the father. Being a new dad myself, I can attest to the craziness of pregnancy, and although I went through the Bradley Method course, I was going to rely heavily on Sarah to keep me on track through labor and delivery. Unfortunately, an unplanned Cesarean section threw our plans out the window. However, Sarah was there the moment she could be (she sped across town in rush hour traffic, leaving a bridal party, just to be with us), and stayed for quite some time. I couldn't have asked Sarah for more! I am grateful we hired her and I would use her again--pregnancy is a long, windy road. Why go at it alone?

Sarah was wonderful to work with all around! I was hesitant about hiring a doula but it was worth every penny. My little one came over two weeks early, but when I contacted Sarah with signs of labor she came over when I asked her to and continuously offered new options for me during labor to help me be as comfortable as possible. She did pressure points, essential oils, helped me through contractions on an exercise ball in the shower until my midwife had the birthing tub ready to go, and let me squeeze her hand with every contraction. And then there was the emotional support that was at least as important. We had discussed at a prior meeting what I may want to hear to keep me going and Sarah intuitively knew how to help me stay motivated. When we ended up having to transfer from home to the hospital, having her with us became even more valuable. She and our midwife were there to advocate for us and reassure us. Sarah stayed with us until we were settled in our hospital room. She came to our house a few days after birth too to debrief and check in with us. We did  a placenta encapsulation through her also, so that was super convenient. I highly recommend hiring a doula and definitely recommend hiring Sarah for your birth!

Sarah was such a source of support and comfort, and her services exceeded our expectations!  Prior to meeting Sarah, we knew little about doula services.  When my husband and I met with her, we decided it would ease our minds to have someone experienced in our corner.  I'm so thankful we hired her!  As a first time mother, I didn't know what to expect.  Sarah made a real difference, and was a positive presence in the delivery room, helping me through each contraction and ensuring the nurses and doctors were aware of my birth plan.  I would recommend her to any expecting mother!

A wonderful experience!  Sarah did placenta encapsulation for me with my 2nd baby. She was extremely kind and always professional. I had many problems and constant stress about low weight with my first born so we decided it was worth a try. I have had nothing but positive results and am finally able to enjoy my second baby without the stress of weigh-ins. I have felt great, had a smooth and quick recovery from the birth. I am grateful I found Sarah and ignored some others somewhat negative judgements when I told them I planned to encapsulate my own placenta. I'd do it again and wish I did it with my first baby!

Sarah was a very calming positive knowledgeable presence at the birth of my daughter and through the end of my pregnancy. She was always available when I had questions or concerns. My husband thought it was the best money we spent on the pregnancy. She has a special knowledge of acupressure points that can really help to alleviate labor pains. She is also just a very inspiring down to earth lady. I'm so happy I found her and would recommend her to anyone seeking a natural child birth.

Sarah is amazing, there's no two ways about it. As a Brit I was totally unfamiliar with how anything works here regarding pregnancy, birth and postpartum, and she has been a rock of smiling support throughout it all. I had a beautiful baby girl almost three months ago and Sarah was the most wonderful support throughout my shockingly fast labour and birth. She came to visit us at home when Audrey was just three days old, bringing a beautiful placenta print artwork as a wonderful keepsake. I cannot recommend this wonderful woman highly enough!! Not only did I have a brilliant doula, I feel I've made a wonderful friend too.

Sarah was an integral part of us having a positive birth experience!! She has so many positive qualities. We were very impressed with the amount of time she spent with us during pre and post partum visits. I felt very respected by her. She is easy to talk to and down to earth. She educated us on ways to make sure we were not pressured into something we were not comfortable with at the hospital. When the time came, Sarah was there almost immediately, and never stopped working even after my son was born. She is a hard worker, professional, knowledgeable, punctual, and genuine. I cannot say enough good things about her and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for caring, non-judgmental support before, during, and after birth. She was worth every penny and more. My husband and I both feel like we have gained a friend. Thank you Sarah for assisting us during this memorable time in our lives!

Sarah was very professional, knowledgeable, kind, and accomodating.  She was willing to go above and beyond in helping me understanding placenta encapsulating.  She was also very quick with the turn around and provided me with a lovely keepsake picture of my placenta.  I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone considering placenta encapsulating.

Sarah was great and we are so happy that she was with us for this experience. Before our son's birth we met with her a few times to discuss what we wanted and to go over our birth plan. Our due date came and went and on day 9 we had a non stress test. My appointment was at 3pm and my son was born via emergency c-section at 5:57pm. Sarah came to the hospital as soon as we let her know what was going on. She was very emotionally supportive and even went to our house to grab our bags and feed our dogs for us. She connected me with a cesarean support group and the director visited me in the hospital the next day. Sarah followed up with us and came to our house a few days after we were home. Despite the fact that we didn't have the birth experience we wanted, Sarah made it a lot easier for us.

Sarah is an amazing doula! She actually wasn't even my birth doula, but held an open pregnancy circle each month. She probided so much information, not only during the meetings, but she also opened herself up to communication outside of the meetings and answered any questions I had. She was also incredibly supportive and helped me to feel so confident in my decisions and abilities. I honestly don't think my pregnancy and birth experience would have been as wonderful without her being a part of it. Thank you Sarah!

Sarah was absolutely amazing! She worked with me and ensured that my birth was exa what I wanted it to be! She was my rock during the entire birth! Without her there I imagine my birth would have gone a lot differentl. She definitely went above and beyond, especially when I was having a ton of postpartum issues. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone, and I know that she will be there for any future births that I might have! Thank you Sarah for all that you do!

Sarah is one of the most wonderful women I have come to know. She checked on me before the birth of my daughter, keeping me informed and supported. Once I had my daughter she came over and helped me with everything, she created a safe and caring environment for me and my family in the days and weeks after my daughter was born.

I would have to say I don't know where I'd be today without her help. You can't put a price on the peace of mind and friendship she gave me. I can only hope that more women get to experience her wonderful spirit within and after their own births.

After the birth of my first 3 sons I suffered from severe postpartum depression. Naturally, as the end of 4th pregnancy approached I began to worry I would experience the same symptoms. I began hearing about placenta encapsulation, and discovered that Bright Heart Birth Services could do that. When I emailed the company I received a prompt reply with extensive information on the benefits of placenta encapsulation, from Sarah, and it sounded like a good fit for me. I had my baby on 6/6 (he was due 7/7). Within a few hours of my sons entrance to the world Sarah arrived at the hospital to pick up my placenta. 2 days later she arrived back at my hospital room, with my placenta pills, a tincture, and a gorgeous print made by my placenta (So cool!). I have to say that I see a drastic difference from my previous postpartum experiences. I have more energy, have a handle on my emotions, am not so overwhelmed, and feel as though I'm healing much faster. I'm truly happy I found Bright Heart Birth Services, and only wish I had found it earlier!

About a month before my due date, I felt like my husband and I would need additional support with our home birth. I met with Sarah and she not only has a passion for supporting birthing couples, but i felt her porsonality was a great match for my husband and I. During my labor, Sarah made us feel so supported and confident. She was amazing! My labor was very long and toward the end I was exhausted after being awake for 40 straight. I almost felt like giving up, as I had no energy left. Sarah helped keep us together and pushing forward, and I was able to birth my beautiful boy at home as planned an hour or so later. I really felt comfortable with Sarah and having another female present through my labor made the biggest difference. My husband also felt that having Sarah with us made our home birth possiible. Sarah has such a kind heart and sweet spirit.  I will forever be grateful for her assistance at my son's birth.

Sarah Geo Walton was a wonderful choice for my husband and me.  We chose Sarah Geo because it being our first child we wanted all the support possible.  She is warm, knowledgeable, supportive, and professional.  She helped both of us feel as prepared as possible.  Sarah Geo is intuitive and adapted to our needs.  I would certainly recommend her services as a doula.
