As a first-time mother suffering through postpartum depression, Suzanne was a godsend! I felt tremendous relief whenever she came over. She's professional and yet also warm and welcoming, like part of the family. She was understanding and so helpful as I asked her many questions and picked her brain - it was like having my own baby expert come into my home! It's obvious she genuinely cares for my daughter and myself, and it made all the difference in my treatment. I look forward to hiring Suzanne again for my next child, or when I just need a good night sleep!
Suzanne is an angel, she is a light bearer. She is following her divine calling to support mothers in their very difficult postpartum phase that no one really talks about. I was in a dark place, in a lot of anxiety and feeling depressed, not knowing what was going on with me and struggling with shame for this experience because the society has an image of the baby phase to be just cuddly and snuggly. No one talks about how much the mother goes through as a result of birth, breastfeeding and the hormonal changes, let alone meeting the needs of your baby that is unique to your baby only. Suzanne walked into our home and in a very humble and loving way held big space for our family’s transition. She walked in every day feeling into the changing needs of the family on a daily basis and adapted quickly and served the needs of the family without having her own agenda. She took care of me, sometimes my aging mother and when needed my baby or whatever was needed in the moment, she attended to it. She is humble and so very loving and went above and beyond her way to just love us and help us through this difficult transition. She is a sister to me, with whom I could talk about almost anything. Her open loving heart and her capacity to see everything in light lifted me up and helped me transmute the darkness I was experiencing into light. I will forever be grateful for Suzanne for how she supported me to step into motherhood and to claim myself and find me again.
I would in a heartbeat recommend her as a doula to any mother, first time or third time, we all need someone to hold the fort down for us while we recover from birth and postpartum and walk into our new lives.
I highly recommend Suzanne as a postpartum doula! I have known Suzanne for over 15 years and when I found out I was pregnant, I could not have been more thrilled to find out she was a doula. Her calm demeanor and understanding ear was exactly what I needed while I was dealing with pregnancy as a single woman. She met me at home the moment my baby girl and I arrived and immediately set to work putting my home together in a most sensible way. I never would have thought of all the small details she is so skilled at noticing. She is knowledgable and kind, peaceful and patient. She allowed me to have time to myself to do the things I needed to and wanted to after my daughter arrived. I am happy to provide more information to anyone considering Suzanne as their doula. She is truly a beautiful soul and an excellent professional.
Look no further! I highly recommend Suzanne for postpartum doula care. Suzanne provided invaluable nighttime doula services when I had to travel for work. Leaving my 4 month old baby for weeks at a time was no easy task especially when she was up all night. We were very fortunate to have found Suzanne. She came to our home and immediately put my mind at ease. She asked lots of thoughtful questions about our routine in order to tailor her approach to meet our specific needs. Within five minutes of meeting Suzanne, you can tell that she is passionate about her work, and really takes a holistic approach to supporting the family. Suzanne is extremely professional, knowledgeable, reliable, and also has a warm, calm and loving energy which is exactly what my baby (and I) needed :) We are so grateful to have found her!
As a FTM, working through PPD/PPA, without Suzanne's guidance/support/nurturing our family would not be where it is today. Her knowledge and patience while working with my husand and I knew no bounds. Our son had severe reflux/colic/sleep issues, you name it. And we were at the end of our rope/sanity/ability to cope. Suzanne helped us navigate those dark days/hours, was an incredible sounding board and shoulder to lean on when my son wouldn't sleep, or feed, and could only cry. She has helped our little family grow in confidence, begin to heal, and learn to enjoy the better moments of parenthood. I cannot say enough good things. We owe so much to Suzanne - a simple thank you could never be enough.
I can’t say enough good things about Suzanne and the postpartum doula care she provided. I have another child so I felt like I knew what to do but just needed a “little” help. Ha!! I needed a LOT.
Doulas take care of babies and mamas, and Suzanne was calm, warm, loving, and reassuring when I desperately needed help (and sleep!!).
She provided non-judgmental advice and invaluable support. Her breastfeeding knowledge helped me to be successful (after difficulties with baby #1). She helped me to achieve my parenting goals and be able to make informed decisions about care, feeding, and our health. She held my hand when needed, took charge when needed, and kept my household a warm, positive happy place always providing care, comfort and love to my baby. I felt completely comfortable leaving my son with her.
She helped me to be able to ignore the "daily grind" and to-do list and spend time bonding. I can't imagine what the experience would have been like without her. Getting sleep is obviously a huge help, but I also really valued the advice on breastfeeding and general infant care and the ability to really focus on my kids.
I am forever grateful for all she has done for us. We ALL love her!
