Wow! There is SO much I can say about this lovely lady. I'll start off by saying that Stacy, single handedly, made our birth story go from a total nightmare, to one of the most precious times we will cherish for the rest of our time. We had planned on having a home birth with a midwife, but because of complications that arose, we were advised to be induced with in that day. We did not feel like our midwife was doing all that she could to help us navigate the situation and was contributing stress and fear, so we gracefully parted ways. All I can say is that Stacy was a GOD SEND. We called her after our midwife left and she immediatly drove an hour and a half to our hospital to help us decipher what the doctors were saying. Our birth lasted Friday night until Monday morning and she was there all but nine hours to sleep at home. She demonstrated her ability to be professional with the nurses and doctors by her knowledge of the birthing process and tact in getting us time to make our decisions. She never offered up her opinion, but rather brought us research from scientific articles and experts. If there was a subject she didn't quite understand, she had the reasources needed to get information quickly. We trusted her fully to help get us the information and time to make decisions regaurding our birth. Along the whole way, she made sure we were confident in what was taking place. She brought peace, joy, laughter, and comfort on one of the most important days of our life. She selflessly made herself available to us and turned a bad situation into a beautiful birth story. We are forever thankful to her.
Oh my goodness! You have no idea how amazing Stacy was! She came through in the final hour, I kept going back and forth on a doula and when I finally realized I wanted one, it seemed that no one was available. So I found 2 doula options. My husband and I interviewed one doula and we were just not clicking. I thought to myself, there is NO WAY I can see this woman standing next to me during one of the most beautiful but difficult moments of my life. So I kindly declined. I desperately called Stacy - I left amessage and pretty much begged to have a consultation meeting with her.
We met 2 days later. We met at a Starbucks and the second she walked in, I just knew. She was SO personable, spunky, prepared, and knowledgeable. This was the first time I felt confident about having my first child. She empowered me so much and made me feel like I could do this!
So over the weeks she checked in, helped me put together a birthing plan and provided all the paperwork I needed to give to my OB. The morning of my daughters due date, I was having contractions all morning and around 6pm, my mom came by and thought it would be a good idea to call Stacy. So we did, I labored at home for about 4 hours with Stacy. She brought snacks, we did lots of music and used a birthing ball until I couldn’t take it anymore and we went to the hospital.
Stacy was with me every step of the way. She provided my mom and husband with positions and techniques that would help them assist me while the contractions were hitting hard. It was weird, she was like this best friend I never knew I had. After 23 hours of labor, we had a beautiful baby girl.
Stacy did follow up visits and provided me with materials to assess post-pardom. I was also diagnosed with Lupus after giving birth and Stacy was there to walk me through that being a new mother! She was truly amazing! Hiring her was the smartest thing I have ever done!!!
