I am the owner of The VBAC Link and podcaster on The VBAC Link podcast. Out company mission is to make birth after Cesarean better. I specialize in VBAC and complex birth situations which makes me extra aware of what is going on in the birth space that may lead to unnecessary interventions; this specialization makes me a valuable asset for all birthing women hoping for a more hands off birth experience. My community outreach includes teaching specialized VBAC classes to educate women and their partners about the true risks and benefits associated with VBAC and repeat cessation. I also teach various new parent classes at Babies R Us including breastfeeding basics, new infant care, creating a birth plan, and Q&A with the doula.

Julie is a fountain of knowledge for all things birth, but specifically VBACs. I met her in a local doula group and quickly realized that I wanted to learn from her. She supported me as I douled my first VBAC client, with all her well-researched facts and sincere words of encouragement. I was lucky enough to shadow her at a birth a few months ago where I got to see her 'in action', and she was a steady source of information, compassion, and support (with a touch of humor thrown in). She has helped me gain confidence as a doula and I am happy to recommend her as an amazing fellow doula and childbirth educator. You won't regret working with her.
Julie is absolutely amazing! I was able to do a VBA3C with her and I truly feel it would not have happened without her. I hired a doula for my previous birth and she said she was familiar with VBAC’s but in truth she had only been to one VBAC birth and didn’t know much about them. Julie, on the other hand, is a VBAC rockstar! She knows EVERYTHING about them. Seriously ask her for a statistic about them and she knows them. Not all doulas are created equal and not every doula is right for every person. Julie is the type to go above and beyond and really cares about her clients. She was great at giving me info and letting me make decisions and never forcing her opinion on me. I just can’t aay enough great things about her. Love her!
Julie was everything we hoped for! Supportive, knowledgeable, and excellent at her work. She helped tremendously with pain management, helping guide us our path to delivery, and providing tools that I’m sure ultimately helped me achieve a VBAC. Her encouragement and faith in me was so apparent. I would recommend Julie to any pregnant momma in a heartbeat.
What is there not to love about Julie. She brings so much love, education, support, and overall joy to the birthroom. Her passion for birth especially VBAC is phenominal. If you're a mom looking for a great doula who has a lot of knowlege and passion behind what she does you have found her. Julie non only supports her clients but also educates them so when the big day comes they can feel comfortable walking into their birthing day. - JULIE IS AMAZING!!!!
I was fortunate enough to work with two wonderful doulas for my second birth experience, and Julie was one of them. The pregnancy had been high-risk and stressful, and I realized partway through it that I was going to need the expert support of doulas. I was able to achieve an VBAC while being induced at 38 weeks. I didn't think it would really be possible, and I don't think it would have been without their help. I was able to endure over 24 hours of induced labor before getting an epidural, and I know I couldn't have done that without the techniques and support they provided. I will always treasure the experiences I had with them!
Julie Francom attended my birth and was an amazing asset with the pain management (lots of back labor). I had another doula there as well and needed both of them to help with the pain as I progressed through labor. They were both amazingly supportive and there when I needed. Julie made sure my mother was doing well as I progressed throguh labor as it was very difficult for her to watch me be in so much pain. She was very supportive during my 21 hours of labor and during my birth breakdown when I just needed to cry for a while - she supported me and yet gave me the space that I needed as well.
I would highly recommend her as a doula because she is very supportive and capable. She is amazing and we love her!
Julie is an amazing doula! I choose her because of her experience with VBACs and she was great! I had an unmedicated VBAC in the hospital and I couldn't have done it without her! She was great about teaching me and giving me information throughout my pregnancy. When it came time for delivery she was great at doing counter-pressure and helping my husband know how to help me too. Julie was also good at interacting with my Dr and the hospital staff, without being pushy or rude. She was very encouraging throught pregnancy and especially labor.
Even though my husband was resistant to the idea of a doula at first, he was very glad we hired her. I am so appreciative of all her help and I would defintely recommend her to anyone, especially VBAC moms!
I cannot even begin to explain how amazing Julie is! My husband and I were hesitant to hire a a doula and wondered if we really 'needed' one. Not only are we glad we hired a doula but I am so glad we hired Julie as our doula. She helped me so much during my pregnancy, labor. birth and even post partum that I truly know that I could not have done it without her. I will, without hesitation, hire Julie for all of our future births.
Julie has such a sweet understanding demeanor and knows her stuff. She was great at getting me any information I neeedd and helped me calm all my fears. She did an amazing job during my birth to keep me calm and focused on what I really wanted. I truly cannot thank her enough! I recommend her to anyone looking for a doula, hands down.
I've never met a doula so kind and loving as Julie! She radiates sunshine! While planning my second delivery, I was devastated to find out I had a condition that would force me to be induced 3-4 weeks early. After every meeting, Julie filled me with encouragement and excitement! She is super knowledgable and stays on top of all the latest research, so I could ask her my endless questions throughout pregnancy. I also love how non-judgmental she is, I felt perfectly comfortable telling her my own choices as we made my birth plan.
The day I went in to be induced, I hadn't slept the night before, and was lying in bed exhausted for hours on pitocin waiting for steady contractions. When Julie got there, she brought in energy and excitement, got me on my feet, made it through my whole delivery having fun and having the peaceful labor I always wanted. She had great ideas to help my labor progress and help baby move down. I also appreciated that when I was hit with the most horrible pain of my life as baby dropped and hit my tail bone, she supported me when I made the choice to get an epidural, and within minutes I was able to control push a few times and not tear with my babe. It was better than I ever could have imagined. Me and my husband are so thankful for the support she gave to us. She is simply wonderful!
I had a wonderful experience with Julie. She went above and beyond to make me feel confident that I could do my VBAC and I DID IT! For me, the most valuable thing was that she was available and knowledgeable about what I asked. She had ALWAYS a positive attitude about being my doula and being there for me. I never felt like a burden. She was so kind to all my family members, friends, nurses, doctors etc. Just a great advocate to have during your birthing experience.
Julie was a great doula! The experience I had with her was so wonderful, granted my birth went exactly how I wanted it to but I think in large part it was with her help. She came to my house with another doula who helped my husband learn some pressure points to help with contractions. She brought me a birth ball to help position baby. She lent me her DoTerra oils to help with nausea, sciatic nerve pain, and to help keep contractions coming while in the hospital. She wrote my birth plan out for me after discussing a bunch of different options. She always kept what I wanted in mind and would ask me if she had any questions. She gave me great advice and was willing to come to my house anytime I needed. She was at the hospital even at 3:30am with me to help during contractions. She stayed until after the birth until we felt comfortable with everything. I wish I would've had her for the birth of my first child. It was an amazing experience that I'll never forget.
Julies knowledge and understanding of the natural process of birth is truly uamazing. She has put so much time into researching evidence based care and is a true unbiased support for families searching for their ideal birth. I would trust her with any situation to be supportive and compassionate. I have not only witnessed her birth but also witnessed her in action and she is a doula who truly understands and can help families navigate the birth world in an easy and enjoyable capacity.
