Tashona fit our family's needs and wishes perfectly. Not needing a childbirth education course this second time around, she gave us a workbook to think through our ideal birth setting and prepare for decisions we'd need to make. Having a massage therapy background she walked me through various resting, stretching and sitting positions that would encourage baby to get in, or stay in, a good birth position. The one thing I knew I wanted her to remember was to get me peppermint oil to breathe in during transition to counter any nausea (or more), which I experienced in my previous birth. She did it at the exact right time and I held my cookies down, woohoo! Thank you! Having my husband and my doula, Tashona, there at my birth ensured there was a constant set of eyes on me and my newborn once he was born. I recommend her services to anyone giving birth whether 1st or 10th baby!

My wife and I wanted the birth of our baby to be as natural as possible. We signed up for a birth education class with Tashona of Viumbe. At the class we were guided to create our birth plan and learn about relaxation techniques, physical and mental exercises that boosted our confidence.
Being a massage therapist, Tashona helped my wife through the entire labor. It worked so well that the midwife only came in time to catch the baby as he came out. With Tashona, the peak of my wife's labor was much easier than we anticipated and it only lasted about an hour and a half. If we will do it again, it will still be with Tashona.

My wife and i chose to do natural birth. And we wanted to do it as  far as possible from the hospital. We signed up for a birth education class with Tashona. That class boosted our confidence. She eventually accepted to be our doula. When we got to the labor room at the final part of the labor,  the midwife noticed that my wife had only dialated 2cm. Tashona decided to help her through the labor using relaxation technique and massages. About an hour later,  the midwife came back to check and was surprised that the baby's head was no longer far from sight. At that point, Tashona guided her into the pool and the baby was out in less than 10 minutes. It only lasted an hour and a half. There's no  doubt about the fact that our doula made our labor and birth much easier than we anticipated. She also made sure that the best moments of our bonding with our new born was all captured in pictures. If we will do it again,  it will be with Tashona.

I enjoyed the special privilege of having both an incredible doula and an incredible massage therapist all in one awesome person. Tashona went above and beyond her duties to keep me informed and comfortable. My husband and I struggled to financially invest in her services due to our own personal circumstances. It was well worth the investment/sacrifice. Actually, I can't imagine having birth without Tashone at my side (and head and back and feet and arms- lol). She has a special touch. She came to my home and helped me with baby wearing, breastfeeding, lunch, childbirth education and emotional support before labor began. She spent more than our agreed upon time with me both before and after birth. I honestly can't want every woman to have such support during labor and birth. You only birth each child once. Make the most/best of it. My labor and birth was fast and empowering. I really enjoyed it. I birthed at a free standing birth center. Tashona stayed with me when the midwife disappeared thinking I wasn't as far along as I knew I was. Midwife came in the room as I was crowning. Tashona was my savior. My birth was so enjoyable. I loved feeling my body push my baby through the birth canal with no assistance from me or anyone else. It was so miraculous. I want to do it again. And I want Tashona again! THANK YOU VIUMBE!!!
