I didn't have a doula with my first two babies but did with my third. It was worth every penny spent. I have unmedicated births but each was so different and I can't imagine my third without the help of my doula. I knew a lot about birth but Lindsay was a call/text away when I was feeling frustrated or confused or had more questions. Baby ended up coming at 41 weeks 4 days and those last 11 days were REALLY hard. Lindsay helped keep me calm and remember my birth plan (trusting my body and letting baby come when he was ready). She talked with my about my fears and frustrations. My labor was only 2.5 hours so a lot of the comfort measures that we had planned on weren't used but I can't imagine my birth without her. I felt so loved and supported. She helped my husband help me. He has never been so involved with labor and delivery. My husband was the one that caught our son as he was being born! It was her suggestion that lead us in that direction. It was amazing! :) I will never have another baby without a doula.
My birth experience with Lindsay was wonderful! This was my second child, but with my first I didn't have the best experience. She provided lots of useful information during my pregnancy, and continued to show me love and support afterward as well. Her calm demeanor and alternative methods during my daughters birth were amazing and made the bond between my boyfriend and I much stronger than it would've been had she not been present. I am so glad that we made the decision to have Lindsay on our team and I would recommend her to anyone who's going to have a baby!
Hiring a doula was one of the best things I did for my labor experience. Lindsay was amazing! She was very knowledgable and informative about all different types of situations we would come across. She educated and helped us with our birth plan. She was always around for moral support! My labor was very long and hard and she stuck with me through it all! The support she provided my husband and I was much-needed and we are grateful to her for everything! Labor is not only hard on the mother but the father as well. My husband was happy to have Lindsay there for the extra support for me but also for him. You can tell she is passionate about what she does and that reflects in her work! She has made my third and last birth experience positively memorable and I highly recommend her services!
Lindsay was amazing during my twin pregnancy, birth, and post natal experience! She was able to give me excellent resources to research my options for care and helped me find information on various preferences I had for my birth plan. She helped me build a birth plan that worked for me and my husband. My husband was very skeptical at first and didn't think we needed a doula. After our first meeting with Lindsay with her explaining her services and that she isn't there to replace my husbands support but that she was there to basically be his wing man he was convinced. When the day finally came to deliver she was above and beyond what even i expected. I was experiencing a lot of back labor and she was able to suggest a different position for me to lie in to get baby a in a better position. She helped me get through my worst contractions with techniques like counter pressure and soft touch massage while my husband got some much needed rest. It was amazing how much it helped take my mind off the contractions and let me focus on breathing through them. Since I was pregnant with twins I had to deliver in the operating room and she was amazing support through that whole process. She captured some amazing moments of my labor letting my husband focus on supporting me. She stepped right in when I needed additional support and kept me informed the entire time. I'm so grateful I had Lindsay as my doula and think every laboring woman deserves to have support like I had with Lindsay!
We knew Lindsay for almost two years before she was our doula. We were pregnant and needed a babysitter for our first child so I could attend school. We were expecting our second and really desired a doula and could not afford a regular one. Enter the lifesaver! Lindsay was taking classes and approached us about being our doula-in-training. We gladly said yes. She was awesome. She was diligent the whole time. She took time to find out our needs and wants for the pregnancy and she delivered on the day it happened. We didn't feel pressured or that she was ill-representative of our desires. She let nature take its course with the birth and filled in when necessary. She was a big help for my husband and really helped him. He was my biggest concern. She helped him great and helped him respond to me even better by being the support he needed and offering reassurance when needed. And when the baby came she was very good in letting the doctors do their things and reminding us about what we talked about by giving subtle reminders so we did things the way we wanted. I was very grateful for her help and would recommend her to anyone.
