Sheri entered our birth story as soon as we became pregnant with our second son. I knew that having her as our doula would bring comfort, ease and expertise to our experience. In the months leading up to my delivery, Sheri tuned in closely to our desires as parents. She talked us through our choices and shared lots of great resources so we could approach the birth of our son with informed options. She even helped talk us through the trauma of our first birth! In the 2 weeks before I delivered, Sheri was a constant support through false labor and some intense back pain. She literally showed up at my house one night to administer some amazing techniques for relieving the back pain. Once I was in the hospital, Sheri was indispensable. We wanted a completely natural birth and several times, Sheri helped bring that back into perspective by encouraging my to tune into my body and trust the process. When my husband was feeling a bit helpless, Sheri offered ways for him to comfort me through the contractions. Physically, she had exercises that helped lower my baby's head, when labor stalled. I had lots of tools and essential oils to help me through the labor and Sheri was wonderful about implementing all of them.  & when I was lost in the haze of transition, her calmness and words helped me understand what was about to happen. We simply can't imagine another birth without Sheri as our doula. Her help was priceless!! We are so grateful!

Having Sheri at the birth of our baby was a great experience. She was attentitve, thoughtful, and responsive. Highly recommended!

Sheri was amazing! Considerate, attentive, and listened to what my husband and I wanted and needed during the birth of our first daughter.

She explained things the doctor was suggesting that I do, she requested that they give me time to think and confer with my husband. When my husband was tired from helping me she made sure he rested. She made sure I was hydrated and that I moved into comfortable positions. having my daughter was amazing experience that Sheri helped create the right mood and gave support when needed.

My husband and I were very pleased with the service provided by Sheri Walker. For the birth of our 3rd child, we decided to have a home birth. Sheri stayed in touch with me throughout the pregnacy, and when it was time, she arrived at our house in a timely manner. She brought a calm and soothing presence to the labor and birth. My husband wanted to be as involved as possible, and she let him be the primary support giver, never over stepping; but as the labor progressed, and things got especially hard, she was right there with me, helping and coaching me along. She is a knowledgeable, professional doula, and I highly recommend her!

Sheri provided just the type of presence that I needed during my labor and delivery.  She was my doula for my first child.  I developed preclampsia and was admitted to the hospital 4 days after my due date.  Induction started at that time, but I did not have my son for an additional 4 days.  Due to the nature of my son being stubborn and not wanting to come out, I was given alot of options.  Sheri helped me to sort through all of my options in an understandable way and so that I still kept things happening how I wanted them to happen and safely.  She remained calm when things were very chaotic and scary in my room.  She was with me the whole time I wanted her there and she even climbed stairs with me to try to get the baby moving.

I highly recommend Sheri for anyone who is looking for that calm but confident and knowledgeable guidance and support during pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

Sheri was great. She was with us for the entire duration of our 36 hour birth, both at home and in the hospital. We had planned to be in a birth center, but had to transfer to the hospital - Sheri advocated for us in the hospital to ensure our birth plans were respected. She helped my husband and I in many ways during the labor - sitting with me through the night, offering massage, picking up food for my husband, etc. She was a calm, comforting, and stable presence throughout the whole experience. We felt reassured by her extensive nursing skills, although she didn't play that role during the birth, she was able to answer all of our questions and explain the different stages of the birth while we were in the hospital. Overall, Sheri was a very positive presence during the labor and birth - my husband feels like he couldn't have managed without her! Thank you, Sheri.

I could not have hoped for a better labor and delivery.  This past year we were blessed with our first child.  My husband was deployed and wouldn't be able to attend the birth, so I moved back home to Alaska for a few months to be with my family for the birth.  I met Sheri at a course offered by the hospital.  I hadn't intended to hire a doula, but she was there assisting another woman whose husband was deployed and was able to offer a lot of good insights and help elaborate on our discussions. And as my due date drew near my anxiety began to rise.  I met with Sheri and expressed that I desired to have as natural of a birth as possible.  I was relieved that she had very practical and balanced approach.  I became pre-eclamptic and needed to be induced, which limited my mobility and raised the liklihood of having an epideral.  Sheri was there through the entire process and with each step helped explained what I could expect.  She gave suggestions to my mother who was helping in the laboring so that she could be more effective and supportive.  We are now thinking about trying for our second and wish we lived back in Alaska so that Sheri could help with that birth as well.

Sheri was my doula for the birth of our daughter in September of 2014. She was extremely supportive and accessible throughout my pregnancy. Her support made all the difference during my labor. She did a wonderful job of coaching me through contractions and helping me find strength during labor. Her knowledge of the birth process was extremely helpful. She remained calm and supportive throughout the entire birth. I would highly recommend Sheri to anyone looking for a doula in the Mat Su area.
