Lindsay was awesome to have as a doula. She was not only there for the birth, but she checked on me throughout my pregnancy. She was always knowledgable when I had questions, and she was so encouraging. She made herself available when I needed her, and I so appreciated her help with my delivery.
Giving birth to my baby boy in August 2016 was one of the most memorable, exciting and joyous experiences I've ever had. My mother lives on the east coast, so I had some fears as I anticipated giving birth to my firstborn without a motherly helper. I heard about Lindsay through a mutual friend and immediately knew I had to give her a try. What a wonderful decision that turned out to be! My experience with Lindsay started months before my pending due date. She drove 30 minutes to have dinner with me at Panera to discuss how she could be a help as my doula, as well as answer any and every question. I immediately felt so comfortable as I felt able to ask any question, no matter how personal or "awkward." My baby's birth was nearing and Lindsay helped me feel so prepared for it. My contractions started at 11pm, and by 3am I knew I had to text her as I figured it was truly labor. She not only woke up and inquired about the timing of contractions, but also offered to come at any moment to check in on me. i eventually had her come a few hours later and she checked my baby's heartbeat as well as my blood pressure, and ultimately put me at great ease! She was able to encourage me when she thought it wise to drive to the hospital, but always left it up to me. At the hospital finally at 8:30am I was dialated to 8cm, and I attest that to such a smooth, practically painless, time laboring at home under her great care. Through transition and pushing, I was able to squeeze both my husband and Lindsays hand. Neither of them left at any moment. After Ethan's birth at 11am, Lindsay stuck around as long as we needed her, and even came back the next morning to check on us. During those last few months of pregnancy and then the first few months of having a newborn Lindsay has been my constant go to person with questions and concerns, with almost immediate responses! She has saved me so much stress and worry. I am so blessed to have had her company and expertise during this time!
We were so blessed to have Lindsay a part of our birth team! She has a very calming and reassuring presence, which was wonderful both for myself and my husband. This was baby number six for us, and my biggest piece of advice for any mom.. new or experienced.. is to have a doula!
I am so glad I has Lindsay there at the birth of my son! I mean it when I say I couldn't have done it without her. It was my first birth (and we were doing a home birth) and neither my husband nor myself knew what we were doing. It was a relief to have her there assuring me nothing was wrong and also to help me manage the pain.
I highly recommend Lindsay as a doula!!! She was literally amazing!
