Having Chiminh Ashton as my doula during my second son's birth was amazing, since the moment she walked into the door and I was already in labor she checked with me to see how I was feeling and from that moment forward she was always by my side, not only helping me but guiding my husband to better support me during the whole process. She is very hands on very nurturing and caring, she is very knowledgeable, sweet and you can tell she loves what she does.

Super Star!
We hired Chiminh to be our birth doula when we delivered our first daughter in April. This was our first baby, so we didn't know what to expect. During our two prenatal visits, she educated me and my boyfriend on childbirth, breastfeeding, and lots of basic baby care things that we had no idea about. We took a childbirth education class, but having this time with her gave us the opportunity to ask the questions we didn't have time to ask at our prenatal visits, or were too embarrassed to ask at the CBP class. The most valuable thing she did for me in those visits was explain what to expect during the actual birth which really helped to ease my anxiety - what happens when we check in to the hospital, what the monitor is for, possible medications they might offer me and what they do, and what normally happens after the baby comes out. Those two visits also gave us the opportunity to really get to know her, which was great.

Chiminh was my first doula and it was great to have her with us the first weeks after our baby-girl was born. She gives helpful and practical advice about everything around a newborn, letting me rest, supports in householding, and the most important thing for me was her support emotionally . By listening, recognizing and not prejudging me it makes me more confident in being a mom. Chiminh is a calm, patient, flexible and really nice person to have around you.

Chiminh Ashton (Gentle Sherpa Doula Care) worked with my family for over a month after the birth of our third child. We interviewed many doulas before selecting Chiminh, as we knew we needed someone really great to help out because we were facing a number of challenges - we have two other young children, are new to Austin, were closing on our first home, and have no extended family in Texas. We needed real help! We were very happy that we selected Chiminh. She was great at helping out with our older children (and fur babies!), fielding visitors, preparing food, and assisting with keeping the house running. She also has unparalleled knowledge about postpartum recovery, nursing, and baby care. I felt very comfortable leaving my precious one-month-old baby with her while bringing my older children to the park for an hour or so.  She was also helpful in getting the baby to take the first few bottles of pumped breastmilk.

She would be an asset to any family, whether it is a seasoned mom who is bringing a second, third, etc. child into the home, or a first-time mom who wants emotional support and someone to help calm the inital anxiety of bringing home a newborn. We give her the highest recommendation possible.

As a military wife with a deploying husband, we made the choice that we needed someone who was not emotionally involved, yet would be a stable support and a confident guide for us.  With all the plans for my husband to be hoome for the birth and to have both Chiminh and him present, things don't go as planned.  Wtih my husband unable to return, her knoweldge, calm presence and experience gave both my mom and I such a sense of peace.  From the minute she showed up until she left, we were so thankful for the way she coached me, supported my family and I and the ability she had to provide wise, un-biased counsel in the moments where questions arose and decisions had to be made.

My husband and I both agree that the investment of having her part of our birthing experience was one of the best things we could have done!  The entire day and all 22 hours were truly beautiful and do-able with great peace.

My hubby and I wanted to try out hiring a doula so our OB gave us a list of doulas in the Austin area. We met with Chiminh for a meet and greet and we knew we could stop looking there. We loved her caring and compassive nature and the fact that she was also an RN was a huge plus for us. Also we specifically wanted only a postpardum doula and that in itself seemed difficult to find. We have enjoyed and benefited so much from working with Chiminh that my hubby and I are going to hire her for more time with us as we navigate being first time parents. She is flexible, open minded, non judgemental with whatever seems to work for us, full of great knowledge and seems to have an answer for everything, which I love! We so look forward to working with her more even as our baby eventually reaches toddlerhood. Chiminh has also been always available by phone or text whenever I have a question, which is pretty often! It is so obvious she does this from the heart and we are so blessed to have found her!
