I first met Carolynn when she came as the back-up doula for the birth of my first child. It was a really challenging 24-hour labor, and even though I had not met Carolynn prior to her arrival at the hospital, she calmed me down right away and got things progressing to where they needed to be. I couldn’t have had the unmedicated birth I wanted without her there. Both my partner and I immediately knew that if we had another child, Carolynn would be our one and only doula.
For my second birth, Carolynn was instrumental in making me feel calm and confident throughout my entire pregnancy, even when we went well past the 40-week mark and needed to consider induction methods. Again, with her help, we avoided interventions and our beautiful baby arrived naturally in under an hour (!).
My two birth experiences were SO different from one another, but Carolynn was my guiding light for both and will always hold a special place in our hearts. She is a gift to all!
My husband and I welcomed are daughter earthside on Sept 18, 2019 and could not have done it without Carolynn. From the moment I got pregnant, I knew I wanted to have a natural birth but was still fearful of the unknowns since this was my first baby. I started doing my research and knew I had to build a support system in addition to a care team we could trust with our birth preferences.
Initially, I wasn’t completely sold on whether we needed a Doula. I was hesitant that hiring one would get in the way of my husband’s experience. He’s a very hands on person and wanted to be involved in the birth every step of the way, so I didn’t want him to feel like he was being replaced. Once meeting Carolynn, we very quickly learned that this was not the case at all. Carolynn became part of our team; was a huge resource as we got ready for the big day and supported my husband as well as me throughout labor. This was in addition to an amazing team of midwives.
Carolynn helped us approach labor with a positive mindset and steered us towards evidence-based resources and real birth stories (positive ones) rather than letting us get sucked into the fearful “what ifs” and horror stories that people typically want to share. She was always available for questions or to talk things through - was there to help us make decisions but also willing to give us the space we needed to think. By working with Carolynn and doing her Hypnobirthing class - along with my own personal research - we felt incredibly confident, at ease, and excited about labor. The preparation was well worth it and our daughter’s birth day ended up being the most incredible experience of our lives. We would highly recommend Carolynn and plan to hire her again when we’re ready for number two :)
Looking for a Doula? Look no further. Carolynn is a boss!!! She knows more about labor, delivery, and the birthing process than anyone that I have ever talked to. As first time parents we were nervous about what to expect in the delivery room. More importantly I have an extreme needle-phobia and was adamant about having a needle-free birth. An epidural was just not an option for me. Having Carolynn was a complete game changer. She has this calming energy that put my anxious mind at ease. At 41 weeks the midwife was pressing me to get induced. Being adamant that I did not want to, Carolynn was able to help us articulate our wishes. She was so knowledgeable about all of our options and always available to discuss the pros and cons.... even at 3am. She is like having a birth guide in your back pocket. When I finally went into spontaneous labor at 41+6. Carolynn was able to guide us through early labor, keeping my husband in a rhythm and helping him best support me. When it was time for her to arrive she was there in the blink of an eye. She never left my side and continued to have suggestions on how to best get our daughter through the birth canal. Once my baby girl was born I needed some medical attention. While my husband did skin-to-skin with our daughter, Carolynn never left my side. She was that familiar face I needed to keep my mind at ease. We will definitely be calling her for baby number 2. Thank you Carolynn, you truly were the best decision we could have made ??
Carolynn is an amazing and very knowledgeable doula. We were fortunate to have her guide us through the birth of our first son in March 2017 and of our second son just over a month ago. She is extremely professional, respectful, sensitive and kind. Carolynn is very accessible (really important when you are trying to figure something out related to your pregnancy, birth or postpartum recovery), always gets back to you quickly and points you in the right direction. Both times I knew I was in good hands))
I had pretty much natural births both times (except for nitrous oxide) and delivered both of our sons at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Having Carolynn there with us was essential for achieving the birth experience I wanted in the setting that I was comfortable with.
With our first son, my labor and delivery took a long time, and Carolynn was there for us. Only after the delivery we found out that it was actually her birthday! She never mentioned it during that day, and that goes to show how dedicated she is to her clients and their comfort – she put the celebration of her own special day on hold for our family.
Carolynn is truly an amazing doula and support person! I can wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone searching for a doula. Regardless of what your delivery plan might be, Carolynn is very supportive and not judgmental in any way. And I strongly suggest that you reach out to her early in your pregnancy, as her schedule fills up quickly and you can miss out.
We’ve had the pleasure of having Carolynn be a part of both our son’s birth in 2017 and our daughter’s birth just a little over 3 weeks ago. Carolynn is so knowledgeable, patient, kind, passionate and resourceful. I truly feel like we hit the jackpot with her!I found her through an internet search when I first found out I was pregnant with my son in 2017. She is extremely hands on, easy to reach, and quick to respond to questions throughout the entire pregnancy journey. My first pregnancy and delivery was so different from my second. I was considered high risk with both due to a seizure condition, and while the doctors seemed edgy, Carolynn was so calm and reassuring. She always made me feel so empowered and helped me believe in myself. She is the reason I was able to achieve my VBAC 3 weeks ago.I feel so incredibly blessed that we found her and were able to have her with us through these pregnancies and birthing experiences. She is the reason my husband and I got through it twice. I consider her a part of my family after the incredible journey. In fact, she got to cuddle our little ones long before any of our family members even knew the babies were born....very special. Also, we did take her hypnobirthing class which was incredible. It really helped us see pregnancy and birthing in a different light. In today’s world, pregnancy and birthing is so overly medicalized and not viewed as a natural process. I felt like this long before I was expecting a baby which is what drove me to seek out a Doula and get educated. Carolynn really is an amazing person and I have zero regrets about having her be a part of our lives. The only bittersweet thing is we are done having children now that we have our boy and girl...so we won’t need Carolynn again in terms of hiring her for helping us through a pregnancy and birth. However, we plan to keep in touch and I would recommend her to anyone considering hiring a doula. She is simply the best!
We are so happy we decided to work with Carolynn. This was our first baby and needless to say, we were a little anxious. From our first meeting, Carolynn helped answer all of our questions, was knowledgeable, and very professional. During labor she helped not only with comfort measures, but also with little things, like organizing bags and taking notes during the birth. Everyone at Emerson Hospital loves her with good reason. Highly recommended.
Hiring a doula was one of the best decisions I made. I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted the help of a doula with my second birth, and when I found Carolynn, I knew we would make a great team. Carolynn is exactly what I needed in a doula—she’s sweet, warm, and exceptionally knowledgeable. Thoughout the second half of my pregnancy, she answered my questions and addressed my concerns in a completely unbiased manner. She thoughtfully explained different options and their pros and cons to enable me to reach my own informed decisions. She made me feel comfortable telling (not asking!) my OB for what I wanted, especially when the possibility of induction came up toward the end of my pregnancy.
During my labor, Carolynn had my back—literally. She knew my strong desire for an unmedicated birth, and she made every effort to help me be as comfortable as possible. She coached and supported me through breathing techniques and varying positions, and this allowed my husband to be with me in a more intimate and loving way.
With Carolynn’s help, I was able to have the amazing, natural birth experience I had so desperately hoped for. I truly don’t think I could have done it without her.
If you’re looking for a doula, I highly recommend getting in touch with Carolynn! She is amazing, and you’ll be glad you did.
We took the hyponobirthing class with Carolynn. This was an amazing 5 week course which we highly recommend! We learned many hypnobirthing tools to use during the birthing and labor process. We left the classes with so much information and better prepared for bringing our baby into the world.
I am so grateful that someone recommended Carolynn to me- as a doula and hypnobirthing instructor. From the first phone call with her I knew that she was someone I wanted as part of my support team for my pregnancy and birth.
Regardless of my question, Carolynn is always available (she continues to be in contact postpartum!) to provide suggestions, advice or direct me to resources. More importantly, she responds in a way which fostered trust in my own intuition. This has been invaluable in my first few weeks in being a new mother!
One of the things I found most beneficial in my work with Carolynn is that I felt that she truly believed in me and how I wanted to give birth. Her unwavering encouragement and dedication to her role in supporting me and my husband during my pregnancy and birth allowed us to experience our daughter's entry into the world in the way that we hoped.
Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Carolynn to anyone seeking a doula. I would also strongly recommend taking her hypnobirthing class.
After speaking with Carolynn on the phone, I had no doubts that I wanted to work with her. Each prenatal visit left my husband and I feeling more and more ready for the birth of our daughter, and my birth experience was more than I ever could have asked for. I would highly recommend Carolynn's doula services to all women because her expertise, warmth, and empowering demeanor were vital in allowing me to have the labor and delivery I had hoped for. My husband and I wouldn't have changed a thing about Carolynn's amazing support as we brought our daughter into the world. We are beyond grateful that we found Carolynn!
From our initial conversation over the phone, I felt comfortable with Carolynn. Warmth oozed from her voice and I felt an instant connection. This level of comfort only increased with her 2 visits into our home. Despite it being my second birth and having had a doula experience with my first, Carolynn made sure not to skip over any aspect or questions, because let's face it, every pregnancy and birth is different, and in addition, we're all probably suffering from some form of sleep deprivation induced memory issues! My first delivery was verrrrry long and we prepared ourselves for the same with baby number 2. I had prodromal labor before the planned induction (necessary due to age) this time around, and Carolynn kept in close contact and checked in on me daily. On induction day, we anticipated it taking a while, so we waited to have Carolynn come to the hospital. Once the meds kicked in, I progressed pretty quickly. In a matter of 10-20 minutes, I went from thinking "ok it's probably a good time to call Carolynn and have her make her way" to "omg WHERE IS SHE I need her!" She ended up literally racing into the delivery room as I was pushing. I remember her saying she felt bad that she missed it. However, it turns out it was a blessing in disguise. I ended up having a significant hemorrhage 1-2 hours after delivery, and I was SO grateful to have Carolynn by my side the entire time. Turns out, I didn't need her to help me labor, but rather to advocate for me and give me strength during the most terrifying hours of my life to date. She kept in close contact throughout my recovery and the few weeks postpartum back at home. Carolynn's bedside manner, wealth of knowledge and resources, and compassionate spirit are incomparable. I would not hesitate to recommend her services. I only wish she did postpartum visits!
My husband and I are grateful to have Carolynn as our doula for the birth of our second child. We would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a doula. My first birth experience was complicated and confusing, so when we found out we were expecting, we knew we wanted to hire a doula for extra support and creating a better birth experience as I wanted another unmedicated natural birth. After first meeting Carolynn, we knew we wanted her to be our doula. She's warm, friendly, and really easy to work with. She was always available to answer any questions I had via email/text, provided valuable resources and also emotional support.
During my early labor, Carolynn was with another mama in labor but she would still check in with me every now and again. As things started picking up slowly, she provided me the information of her backup doula just in case she wasn't able to make it. When it was time to go to the hospital around midnight, Carolynn had just gotten home from her previous birth, but she was still able to meet us there pretty soon. Once at the hospital, we were already at 8cm. Labor was short, quick and intense. Carolynn helped us stay focus and calm, providing counter pressure and heat pad when needed. After birth, Carolynn checked in on us a couple times as well. Overall, I had a great birth experience this time and truly appreciate her support throughout. If you are looking for a doula, we would wholeheartedly recommend Carolynn.
Carolynn is awesome! I initially sought out a doula because, after having an unpleasant experience with an epidural during the birth of my first son, I decided that I wanted to have an unmedicated birth with as little intervention as possible for the birth of my second (while also in a hospital), and I was looking for someone to help support this goal. From our first phone conversation, I immediately felt at ease with Carolynn, like I was talking to an old friend. I also felt SO much more heard than I ever had during doctor’s appointments. Carolynn takes the time to get to know you (and your birth partner) and listens to what your wishes are and how best she can support them. I had already started doing a home course in hypnobabies before I started working with her, and Carolynn was helpful in supporting that while also giving me and my husband other tools to use for comfort during pregnancy and birth. Leading up to my son’s birth, Carolynn was readily available for advice or just moral support, and she helped talk me through an episode of false labor. On the day that my son was born, the labor started out slow, but then started to move quickly. By the time I got to the hospital, I was in active labor and having strong contractions. Carolynn met us at the hospital and was absolutely instrumental in helping me stay calm and focused. And, when things got intense, Carolynn knew exactly what positions might help me stay comfortable and what counter pressure to apply to relieve the contractions (my husband was very happy to have her there to help with this too!). In the end, Carolynn helped me have the positive, unmedicated birth that I was dreaming of. Additionally, after my son was born, her support continued with daily check-ins and a postnatal visit. This was especially helpful while I was having trouble breastfeeding, and she referred me to a lactation consultant. If you’re thinking about hiring a doula, I wholeheartedly recommend Carolynn!
I couldn’t imagine going through our daughter’s birth without Carolynn. We were blessed to not only hire Carolynn as our doula but to take hynobirthing with her as well. This meant by the time she acted as doula we had spent over 25 hours together. We therefore had ultimate comfort together, though we honestly felt comfortable with her from our first meeting. Carolynn is warm, incredibly knowledgeable and so supportive. She gave us a great foundation to be informed going into birth. Her spinning babies knowledge and counter pressure made back labor as tolerable as it could have been. When our time at the hospital moved away from our birth plan, she ensured we understood each decision being made and asked questions of the providers that helped us stick as close to plan as possible. Given it was our first baby, my husband and I felt so much more relaxed knowing she was with us, helping us navigate everything. I would highly recommend Carolynn’s class and doula skills.
I took Gentle Waves Birthing Hypnobirthing class with Carolyn over this past month. The class was a 5 week course in which we went through all of details of the birth process along with practicing Hypnobirthing Techniques and guidance. Carolyn did a great job at making th class very informative while still being fun and getting to know each couple/ person which took the edge off and made it as though we were just a group of freinds hanging out. After taking this course both my husband and I feel very impowered with the khnowledge and tools that we need to bring our little one into this world the way we would like to rather than the hospitals standard routine. I think its important to mention that Carolyn did a great job being supportive of each persons wishes whether that was a hopital birth, home birth, birthing center, etc. Overall a very good class and has eased nerves about the birthing process and we feel very prepred for the big day.
My husband and I are so thankful that Carolynn was present at the birth of our first child. We would highly recommend her to anyone considering a doula. I was hoping for an unmedicated birth and I felt that with Carolynn's support I could achieve that goal. She is caring, compassionate, professional, and skilled. It's clear she wants her clients to feel confident and empowered. Carolynn came to our house for a three-hour prenatal appointment. We covered a number of topics, including the signs and stages of labor and relaxation and breathing techniques. Carolynn also helped us create a comprehensive birth plan. When I started feeling contractions in the middle of the night, I called Carolynn for guidance. She stayed in touch with us throughout the next day as I labored at home, offering guidance and support. She met us promptly at the hospital and my husband and I immediately felt at ease when she arrived. I cannot say enough about how amazing Carolynn was during my labor and delivery. She used music, aromatherapy, and massage to help me relax, applied counter-pressure during contractions, and helped me change positions. When our baby's heart rate dropped during pushing, Carolynn helped me stay calm and focused on my breathing. Thankfully, our baby's heart rate came back up and I was able to deliver without any interventions. I'm so thankful Carolynn was by my side. After our daughter was born, Carolynn helped me initiate breastfeeding and stayed with us until we were settled in our room. On the day we left the hospital, a midwife asked us for Carolynn's name as the nurses and midwives attending our birth had been so impressed with everything she did for us. During our in-home postpartum visit, Carolynn encouraged us to reflect on our childbirth experience, answered questions, and connected us to additional resources. Thank you, Carolynn, for being a part of our daughter's beautiful birth. It's clear that you are meant to do this work.
Let me start by saying I would absolutely recommend anyone working with Carolynn. I was excited about working with a doula but my husband was a bit hesitant, however Carolynn was awesome! I loved her pre-sessions and the questions she asked. They really helped me understand the type of labour I wanted - these were questions that you couldn't come from books ( as I read numerous!). One of the great things about Carolynn was her openess - as a first time mum I had a lot of questions adn with no family around I asked her all the questions I would have asked my mum and she was happy to answer anything without me feeling anything but love from her.
One of the other awesome things Carolynn did was give us some great labour exercises. Our labour kind of stalled at 5 minute contractions, and she had an awesome set of exercises to do, and after we were finished labour was moving fast that we basically went to the hospital right away and were at 7cm very quickly.
Anyone considering a doula I would strongly suggest Carolynn, and I would also recommend doing addional time with her at the start - time with her made the birthing process something now I look back on with happiness and satisfaction.
Thank you Carolynn!
Carolynn's hypnobirthing class truly prepared me for the all natural birth I was seeking at a birthing center. The breathing and meditation techniques allowed me to take the active labor stage in stride, and I arrived at the birthing center 8cm dilated and although I experienced some discomfort in reaching that stage, I experienced little pain. The techniques also got me through the pushing stage, which was a tough feat given my large baby.
Carolynn also provided very helpful information relating to the various interventions that could be proposed should I end up giving birth in a hospital and tactics to face those situations, such as when a pushy doctor tried to convince me to get a c section due to my baby's size.
Carolynn is extremely knowledgeable and supportive, and my husband and I really enjoyed her class. I would highly recommend Carolynn if you are interested in a natural labor using hypnobirthing techniques. Although my husband and I decided we wanted a very intimate experience with just the two of us and our care providers, and decided not to have a doula, I have no doubt that Carolynn would I'd for an amazing doula as well.
When I found out I was pregnant, I did a lot of research about hiring a Doula. I knew I wanted to hire a Doula because I wanted to have someone there who has been through the labor experience and would be able to be another support system for me during the process. My husband was unsure of hiring a Doula and didn’t think it was going to be worth the additional costs. However, after we met with Carolynn, he said “we have to hire her - she’s exactly what we need.” We really would not have had such a positive birth experience without Carolynn’s help. She was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had about the pregnancy and labor. Her answers were always unbiased and educated. She would often send additional resources or information about questions I had and encouraged me to make my own decisions on my beliefs. She worked with us on my birth preferences and made sure that my voice was heard. She really was an advocate for me throughout the entire process.
Carolynn is very positive, educated, soothing and supportive. She is laid back and wants you to make your own decisions on your birthing experience. There are so many special circumstances that can come up during labor but she made me feel confident that whatever happens, we had the tools to be successful.
I would 100% recommend Carolynn as a Doula and a Hypnobirthing instructor to all moms and expecting parents. As a first time mom within our friend group, I had no idea what to expect. But I knew after all of the preparation we did together I was extremely prepared and confident going into the birth of our son. Once I started laboring, Carolynn was extremely supportive and encouraging. She was able to be an aid to the process as well as encourage my husband on ways to assist me during the birth. Carolynn had my birth preferences in mind during the entire labor and was an advocate for me when I was unsure about how to proceed.
My husband and I feel so fortunate to have had Carolynn as our Doula. She provided vital support for us prior to, during, and after the birth of our son. When we first met Carolynn we knew that we wanted her to be our Doula. We immediately felt comfortable with her and after talking with her for a while we knew that she was very knowledgeable and passionate about pregnancy and child birth. Carolynn was always available to answer any questions we had and researched and provided us with any information we needed. We learned a lot during our home visits with Carolynn and went over different stretches and positioning which was very helpful. When I went into labor, it came on fast. Carolynn was quick to meet us at our home and helped me stay calm. When we went to the hospital, Carolynn set up a calm environment. She was an amazing coach to me and an excellent teammate to my husband. My labor was long and Carolynn collaborated well with all of the nurses and midwives that we had. She stayed with us for a few hours after our son was born making sure we were all ok even though we had been at the hospital for about 36 hours with not much sleep. My son had a slight fever after he was born and we had to stay at the hospital for a few days. Carolynn checked in on us often. When we got home I was not feeling well and ended up in the ER with a kidney infection while my husband brought our son to his first pediatrician appointment. Carolynn had called to check in on me that morning and stopped by to stay with me while I was waiting for my father to bring me to the hospital so I was not alone. She even did the dishes while I showered. Carolynn came over for a postpartum visit once I was feeling better and stayed for a long time trying to help our son latch on to breastfeed. While we were not successful during the visit, Carolynn gave me the contact information for a lactation consultant that helped us. I wholeheartedly recommend Carolynn, she is truly amazing!
My husband and I worked with Carolynn for the birth of our first child in September 2016. We only started working with her during my third trimester, but Carolynn was AMAZING. She was so friendly to both my husband and me from our very first meeting. Coming in to the whole process, my husband was a little unfamiliar with the role of a doula. Carolynn was so great at helping him to understand and feel comfortable with having her at the birth of our daughter. She reminded us over and over again that this was OUR birth experience and that she would support any decisions that we made. I was undecided about wanting any interventions like an epidural, pitocin, etc. She was very understanding as I went back and forth about what I wanted. She provided me with more information that I ever could have asked for – and it was GOOD information and articles, not just random websites that I would have found myself on Google.
When the time finally came and we had to go to the hospital, Carolynn kept in close contact with us all evening long before we finally headed to the hospital at around midnight. My labor got going pretty quickly but Carolynn was able to get to us at the hospital in Boston before too long. She was right there with us throughout the labor, but did step out for a while so that my husband and I could have some private time to ourselves and to rest. In the end I did decide to get an epidural but Carolynn helped me through the decision as I was trying to make it, reminding me of the different pros and cons. After my daughter was first born, Carolynn offered to take pictures with our phone to help document some of those first moments. I’m so glad she was able to capture some of those moments.
If you’re even considering working with a doula I would really encourage you to reach out to Carolynn – I can’t recommend her enough!
Carolynn was absolutely incredible. She was so helpful throughout my pregnancy and birth. Any time I had questions she would provide me with as much information as she had, all coming from evidence backed articles. If she didn't know the answer to something, she would research it for me. Not only was she extremely helpful with valueble information, but she offered great emotional support as well. She was always available via phone, text, or email to help me out.
My husband and I attended her Hypnobirthing class which helped us greatly. We learned various relaxation techniques and guided meditations. All of which helped minimize stress both during our pregnancy and labor/delivery. Additionally these practices have carried over into our everyday life, and we are more relaxed and happy as a result.
As far as labor/delivery goes, we absolutely could not have done it without Carolynn by our side. For us labor was nowhere near what we laid out in our birth plan. Hypnobirthing helped us to go with the flow and prevented us from panicking when things didn't go according to plan. Carolynn also helped us through this and was by our side the entire time. Not only did she help me out (emotional support, physical comfort, etc.) she was a great help to my husband. It is so easy for the birth partner to forget about their own needs (i.e. sleep, eating) but Carolynn kept him in check and made sure he was okay and taking care of himself.
Carolynn absolutely went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only would I hire her again in a heartbeat, I would highly recommend her, her services as a doula, and her Hypnobirthing classes to anyone and everyone having a baby. In addition to all of the afformentioned qualities, she is also a pleasure to be around in general. She is funny and has a great energy about her. Again, we highly recommend Carolynn.
Carolynn came to us as a back-up doula in bit of heightened hospital situation, wherein my original doula needed a few extra hours to get to us and we needed someone QUICK so that my labor could progress without intervention (I was aiming for an unmedicated birth and the clock was working against us). I was really nervous about having a "stranger" come in for that time, thinking it might disrupt my focus and progress, but Carolynn's presence delivered the exact opposite. I remember seeing her face and getting the immediate sense of her compassion and support. She coached me through some *really* intense back labor, trying all sorts of different positions and techniques, all the while making me feel comfortable and un-judged (I'm sure I wasn't looking pretty!). And it worked! My labor progressed so well that we were allowed to continue unmedicated, and Carolynn even stayed on for a bit once my original doula arrived for additional support. Without her there in those early hours, I don't know that we would have had the outcome I was so hoping for (my mom and partner wholeheartedly agree). She was a godsend and I'd 100% recommend her to anyone looking!
I knew from the beginning of my pregnancy that I wanted to go the natural/hypnobirthing route. Finding Carolynn was nothing short of a godsend; calm, kind, and understanding from the very beginning, she was very accommodating with our crazy schedule, which I'm so thankful for, because the classes were great. When I was hospitalized and then put on bed rest, Carolynn kept in contact with me, and was kind enough to come to our home and complete our classes so we would be prepared for when our baby came. She was also our Doula, and I don't know that I would've been able to get through a natural childbirth without her. We chose to have our child in Boston, which was great in theory, until I had to ride into the hospital in pure agony from all the back labor I was having! Carolynn rode in with us, kept me calm, and then helped me get upstairs while my husband parked our car. Once inside she was able to relate to the nurses what I wanted in my husband's absence, since I was in no condition to hold any sort of conversation. With Carolyn's help and constant patience and guidance, I was able to give birth without giving in and begging for drugs, something I was sorely tempted to do and probably would have done without Carolyn's help. With her there, she was able to remind me about my breathing, getting up and moving, using some aromatherapy to help keep me calm, and using the hot water from the shower to relax my muscles during labor. I fully hope that in the future, when and if we have more children, that Carolyn will be there with us, welcoming our children into the world. She is a wonderful guide and friend, and I'm so glad that we were able to have her with us. Because of her help, I can look back and honestly say there is nothing I would want to change for my labor and childbirth, and for that I will be forever grateful.
Carolynn was a fantastic addition to our journey through pregnancy and birth! This being our second baby we knew we wanted to change a few things from the last time, and bringing on a doula was just the help we needed. Carolynn was gently supportive and helped us make informed decisions so that our pregnancy (and birth) were exactly how we wanted them to be. She was a wonderful calming presence throughout our labor and even discretely took pictures (as to not be disruptive) so that we could always remember that powerful experience. She helped bring to fruition a peaceful, comfortable pregnancy and birth that we never knew was possible. My husband and I were more than thrilled with her services and wished we could have taken her on for our first birth as well. If you're looking for someone knowledgeable to comfort and support, look no further.
