Kelsie was an excellent match to provide doula services to my husband and I. She was kind, knowledgable, and having her visit our home to plan for our daughters birth felt like having an old fried over for tea. She made suggestions that enriched our birth plan and helped us know what to expect in different situations at the hospital. It  very comfortable to have her in the delivery room with us, and I appreciated her calm and unobtrusive manner. I was very lucky to have the natural, unmedicated birth that I had planned, and Kelsie was there through it all, even massaging  lower back when it was helpful. She took photos on my husband's phone after the birth that we are so grateful to have.

A week after the birth, she visited and provided resources about several topics I was concerned about  a new parent. She is very knowledgable and always eager to learn more if you have a question she can't answer. I highly recommend having Kelsie there for you during this exciting and life hanging time of pregnancy and childbirth.

With this being our first pregnancy, my husband and I were unprepared for what to expect - but we knew we would benefit from having a doula. Kelsie was recommended to us through a mutual friend, and we could not have been happier with her. From the very beginning, Kelsie proved that she was incredibly supportive and knowledgable in the areas of pregnancy, labor & delivery. We met with Kelsie a few times before our baby's birth. She provided a lot of useful information (but not so much that we felt overwhelmed) and responded to our questions thoughtfully. She helped us to feel as prepared as we could for the birth experience we chose, while simultaneously never making us feel pressured by her own views of birth experiences. Throughout the process, I appreciated that, rather than telling us what she thought we should do, she instead just explained the pros and cons of various decisions for us to come to our own conclusions. She gave us great advice and reading suggestions in the days leading up to delivery - and once at the hospital, was an invaluable member of our support team. She seemed to know exactly what to do to calm my nerves or help me through a contraction. She, along with my husband, helped encourage me to have the birth that was best for me. After we came home, Kelsie also came by for a post-partum visit to check in and provide information on any newborn/breastfeeding questions we had. We highly recommend Kelsie as a labor & delivery doula.

I enthusiastically recommend Kelsie Bedard as a doula. From our initial first meeting, Kelsie gave a calm and reassuring presence that I knew would be amazing and vital to have at my birth. In addition, my partner felt a great connection with her as well which was super important to me. I wanted to have the Kelsie there to support all of us.

Everyone told me that you can plan and plan your birth, but it never ends up being close to how you expect it. That proved completely true for us when we had our lovely daughter seven weeks early in a hospital far from home while on our baby moon. Although Kelsie was unable to attend the emergency C-section, our pre-natal consults with her helped us be ready, calm and levelheaded. From the moment, my partner texted her about us entering the hospital, Kelsie was constantly checking in with us to support us from a far. Once we were transferred to Oakland, Kelsie came and visited me post-partum at the hospital where we checked in and processed the birth and also discussed feelings about having a premature baby. Her presence was so calming that it felt like a dear friend who I had known for years. She instinctually knew how to help (a great calf massage) and what words to say.

She has stayed in contact since my birth checking in with me about my daughter, Francesca as well any need that I might have in my recovery. I thoroughly believe that Kelsie would be an asset to anyone at their birth as well in the months leaning up to and after wards. She has a very strong, grounding presence and gave me what I needed when I needed it.
