Working with Jillian made my first pregnancy everything I could have hoped for and more! While my husband and I had a million questions and concerns, Jillian was always patient, kind, quick to respond and helped us understand all options available to us for our ideal birth through her expertise and resources. Through our meetings with Jillian she made us feel safe and comfortable with the new adventure and unknown that was ahead of us.

Our son had other plans than what we had mapped out in our birth plan to bring him into the world, and had to be delivered by scheduled C-section on Thursday, December 17, 2015. Through it all, Jillian remainded our steadfast guidepost through making the decisions and asking the right questions to help to bring our son safely into the world. She held our hands and supported us until the very moment we were taken into the OR to have our baby; and following the safe delivery she was there with our families to welcome us and spend time with us once we were home to understand our new roles and answer our neverending questions and offer resources to us.

The last 9 months would not have been as enjoyable, and I would not have felt as prepared and supported had Jillian not been by our side through this new adventure. I highly recommend Jillian's doula services to Mom's in the Winchester/WV area! Whether you're a first time mom or having your 2nd or 3rd baby, having Jillian's support and expertise as your doula is something that cannot be duplicated and is beyond invaluable.

Thank you Jillian!

I would like to thank Jillian Freeland on behalf of my wife Michele and myself.  We wanted to spend as much of the labor at home as possible.  Jillian was immediately available when the active labor started at 4pm on Saturday September 19th, 2015.  We were able to start clocking the contractions through an application that was suggested by Jillian.  Jillian came to our home and was able to comfort my wife's thoughts and feelings through the contractions.  Her expertise allowed me to perform duties around the house and pack the vehicle for the stay at the hospital.  When the time came to leave for the hospital, Jillian left our house and met us at the hospital.  As I ran to get a wheelchair for my wife, Jillian worked on getting Michele out of our vehicle and ready for the wheelchair.  Jillian stayed with us for the duration of the labor and the birth of our daughter.  She had many suggestions and comforted Michele mentally and physically throughout the birth of our daughter.  Throughout the intense process of labor, Jillian provided us with massage tools, heating pads and aroma therapy to calm Michele's anxiety.

Michele started labor at 4pm on September 19th, 2015. We left for the hospital at 10pm on September 19th, 2015.  We arrived at the hospital around 10:30pm and our daughter was born at 11:39pm on September 19th, 2015.  By following our birth plan and staying as calm as possible Jillian was able to comfort my wife for a rather smooth labor and birth.  Thank you Jillian for your time and effort throughout this time.  It was an easier transition into parenthood with a complication free delivery.

My name is Andrew, I'm the husband/dad in this whole thing.  I was really hesitant to hire a doula. I have training as a paramedic and my wife and I took a 6 week class, so we knew it all.  Kind of felt like a waste of money, how hard could it be?

My wife's water broke at 2 AM, and come lunch time, nothing had happened (our plan was to do as much early-labor at home, not at the hospital).  Jillian came over around lunch time and started running my wife through a circuit hoping to get things rolling (I had the difficult job of helping where I could and watching the Redskins game).  Things started rolling at the house and we migrated to the hospital.

At the hospital, Jillian was phenomenal.  She had a bag of goodies that helped my wife stay 'comfortable' during contractions which were great.  She also brought a large work-out ball that was money.  She coached me in ways to help my wife and support her.

I can't say enough good things about Jillian as a doula.  She will give you her opinion without being pushy.  She is extremely kind and available.  She has a ton of different equipment to help during the labor process.

From a former doula-skeptic, we absolutely recommend Jillian, they don't get much better.  We are so glad we had help.

I enjoyed having Jillian as my doula! She was very helpful and informative the entire time I had her! She was always prompt with responses and anything else I needed. Her techniques were very relaxing and helped to allow me to have more of a stress free delivery. She was also very skilled with reducing my contraction pains as they occurred. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!
