It is a pleasure to recommend Sue to anyone seeking exceptional support during labor and childbirth.
Sue's calm, compassionate, and professional presence during such an intense experience made all the difference for us. She stayed with us tirelessly through the night, providing unwavering dedication and care for us for hours on end.
From the moment she arrived with her bright and warm smile, Sue brought a sense of calm and reassurance to the room. She came fully prepared with a variety of tools and options to help make me more comfortable, and she intuitively knew when and how to use them.
Knowing that Sue was advocating for our needs and looking out for us gave us the peace of mind to remain fully focused and present in the moment. Her expertise, kindness, and genuine care were truly invaluable, and we will forever be grateful for the role she played in our childbirth experience.
I wholeheartedly recommend Sue to anyone seeking a doula who is knowledgeable and skilled as well as warm, compassionate, calm, and deeply committed to her clients.
She is a true gem, and her support will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I had a great birth experience with Sue as my doula. I was attempting a VBAC. Since this was my second and last birth, I really wanted to do everything possible to increase my chances of success. Sue gave me the confidence and support to have a successful vaginal delivery. Throughout early labor and until postpartum, she was there to answer questions and offer guidance. I'm grateful to have had her with me on this once in a lifetime journey. She even typed up a birth preferences document, a summary of my labor and delivery, and brought some cute gifts at my postpartum visit! These things were unexpected and so thoughtful. Thanks Sue for being so lovely, positive and encouraging :)

Sue is phenomenal! She did an extraordinary job making me feel supported and informed throughout the process - before, during and after delivery. Her warm professionalism helped calm nerves and left both my husband and me feeling reassured and confident. She went way above and beyond in terms of offering support and providing resources when needed. I could not have asked for better support all around and would not hesitate to work with her again.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about having Sue as a doula! For context, I was trying for a VBAC with my second child and this was my first time having a doula (I did not use a doula for my first). Sue gave me the confidence and encouragement to believe that I could have a positive birth experience after undergoing an unplanned c-section with my first. My husband and I both immediately connected with Sue and she brought a calming, reassuring presence to our preparation for the birth, birth experience and post-partum.
During the birth, Sue was a critical part of my support team and worked seamlessly and professionally with the medical staff at the hospital where I delivered. She guided me through each stage of labor and anticipated my needs to help me with pain management based on what I liked. My labor was a bit of a marathon and Sue gave me the energy, reassurance and confidence to keep going. During late stage of labor, my baby's heart rate would decline during contractions and Sue worked with the nurses to help me find the best positions that kept my baby's heart rate up during contractions. Ultimately, I was able to have a VBAC and both my husband and I feel that if Sue hadn't been there, I very likely wouldn't have had a successful VBAC.
We cannot recommend Sue enough to be apart of your birth experience!

I felt so lucky from the first time I spoke with Sue Chargo on the phone, and I felt that same luck throughout my entire experience with her. Sue is kind and easy to talk to, and as a new mom who was greatly impcted by the physical changes of having a baby, I loved having someone who was easy to be around and caring. She wants to help and as she got to know me, she would proactively take care of items without me asking. I felt comoftable and more confident in taking care of my baby because I knew Sue had tons of experience and could guide us as we figured out what a newborn needs.
If I could go back in time, I would have brought Sue into the picture sooner after my baby came home to dial down the overwhelm I felt. Sue was always calm and positive, two things that were hard to naturally have with all the uncertainity we felt. Her knowledge and patience are vast along with her dependability. She coordinated a lot with me and always showed up on time, and I am grateful for all the time I spent with her. I would work with Sue again, and I highly recommend her to others because she will ensure you and your family are taken of to the best of her ability. From baby basics to helping around the house, Sue is open to assisting on anything I brought up. I appreciate her humble yet helpful way, and I really loved working with Sue.

My husband and I could not be more grateful to have had Sue's support for the birth of our first baby. Leading up to the birth, we were so impressed and comforted by Sue's breadth of knowledge and calm confident demeanor that really put us at ease. She was accessible for all of our questions and helped us feel prepared for what to expect leading up to the big day. At the birth Sue was incredibly helpful. Both she and my husband were able to take turns providing me support during what ended up being a longer than anticipated delivery. Postpartum Sue continued to be an incredible part of my support system as she checked in regularly and continued to answer my questions as they came up. I truly couldn't imagine preparing for labor/delivery, the birth itself, or postpartum without Sue. We could not recommend her more and are so grateful for her support!

My husband and I knew we wanted a doula on our birth team. From our very first interaction with Sue, we knew she was the one! We met with Sue twice before our son was born, but Sue was always available to answer any questions we had outside of our meetings.
Sue is not only super knowledgeable but she is also friendly and encouraging. She listens to what you want for you birth plan and advocates for you during the labor and delivery process. Sue continues to make you feel important and follows up with an in home visit as well as follow up texts to see how things are going once you are home. We could not have asked for a more perfect Doula than Sue! I would recommend Sue over and over again!

I worked with Sue throughout my first pregnancy. She was incredibly helpful and I can't recommend her services enough! I found her online after deciding that I wanted the support of a doula for my first experience with labor/delivery. She had a great rating, ample experience, and lived close by. Additionally, I liked that she had the added lactation knowledge. My husband and I had a great first Zoom with her and immediately liked her friendly, open demeanor as well as her clear expertise. We signed a contract with her and met an additional time virtually prior to having her come to our house in the weeks leading up to my due date. Sue was incredibly helpful in assisting us with our birth plan. She laid out all our options and only offered opinions if we asked. She made it clear that she was open to everything from a natural childbirth to a fully medicated one. I never once felt pressured to do anything that I didn't want to do-- if anything, she helped answer questions I might have on all the options and presented the information in an unbiased manner. She brought her "tool bag" to our house and walked us through what labor might look like for us. After meeting with her both my husband and I felt more mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared for our upcoming day. When the real event happened, Sue was an incredible help at the hospital. She supported my husband through his nerves and gave him helpful tasks to accomplish. She was a major moral support to me and a cheerleader through the pushing process. I appreciated how she was able to take charge without ever stepping on any of the hospital staff (nurses and doctors) toes. She was very respectful of their time and space but clearly had my best interests at heart. After we got home from the hospital we had a great check in with her and I loved how she had documented our entire birth process and brought all the (now very foggy) details to us typed up. All in all, our experience was fantastic!

I was motivated to hire a doula for our second birth to not only be a support to me as the birthing person, but also to support my partner.
Sue was excellent at just that. She was in constant communication with my partner which allowed me to relax a bit more. When she arrived for delivery, she immediately stepped in to support he and I which shifted the energy in the best way. She noted the timeline of events and provided documentation afterwards, which was SO helpful to process. She has continued to be a wonderful resource weeks into postpartum.
If you are looking for a supportive resource, Sue is highly recommended.
2/14/2023
We are so thankful we had Sue as our doula for the birth of our first baby. Sue was not only extremely knowledgeable, but she was also accessible throughout the whole pregnancy and postpartum. It put my mind at ease knowing I had someone to reach out to if I had any questions or concerns at all. Sue was great during the birth, she was hands on but also knew when to let my husband take over. She had a wide variety of tools that she brought with to offer comfort and knew just when to use them. Her presence in the birth room made me feel at peace and confident. We will definitely have Sue with us for the birth of our next baby!
2/6/2023
Fantastic experience. We are so grateful that we had Sue with us as we welcomed our first son into the world. Her knowledge and support was so helpful during our very long labor! She has been with us every step of the way through pregnancy, birth and postpartum!
1/18/2023
Sue was an amazing doula! From our first interaction to after my son's birth, Sue was incredibly responsive, kind, knowledgeable and caring. Although this was our second birth and child, I learned so much from her regarding the labor process, what to include in a birth plan, pain management options, and what to expect the first few days/weeks with a newborn. While she wasn't able to be physically present during the birth due to circumstances outside of her control, Sue still provided support via text every step of the way. I had a great birth experience because of her ongoing support and because I was able to implement some of the pain management and laboring strategies we discussed during our prenatal visits and while we made my birth plan. She she also provided wonderful support after the birth through frequent follow ups and a home visit. I also highly recommend taking the breastfeeding course she offers! Breastfeeding this time around has been a breeze (which wasn't the case with my first) and I truly believe it is because of what I learned in that course. We would not hesitate to work with Sue again if we have another child!!
10/4/2022
We hired Sue Chargo for our doula this was our first child and did not know what was going to happen for our first child so it was very helpful being able to ask her questions about all the variables that could happen also when the doctor was recommending some things I got to talk it out with Sue to figure out if that was the best solution for myself and my husband. She is very orgainzed, and great with communictation. Everything in the birth went very smoothly and along the whole way I knew exactly what was happening and fully educated on all of my options during birth Sue will teach you all these options so when it comes time to making a decision you know how to answer in the moment. I would highly recommend Sue to help you during the process of your birth. She will help write your birth plan, help with your hospital packing list for mother, father, snacks, baby. Also offers a virtual education course. Andrew + Lebrisia Iversen

Our experience with Sue was absolutely amazing. We felt comfortable and supported by her from our very first meeting, and this continued throughout my pregnancy. She is incredibly knowledgable and her approach is very warm and non-judgmental. Sue was such a critical support for us after going into labor a month earlier than expected, and she was with us every step of the way. Her support and guidance during my delivery was a substantial factor to having an overall positive labor experience. She has been an ongoing support post-delivery, and is always there to answer any questions, give resources, and/or to continue to offer ongoing support. We are so grateful to have found Sue and to have been able to utilize her during my pregnancy, and any expecting woman/family would be lucky to work with her!
7/10/2022
We were very thankful to have Sue as our doula for the birth of our first child. She was extremely helpful as we prepared for our birth with her broad background knowledge and quick communication. She thoroughly answered all our questions about prenatal care, how to prepare for our birth experience and recommendations as we got ready for the arrival of our baby. It was reassuring to know we had Sue as a resource. During our visits Sue was professional, kind and helpful. During the birth she supported both of us as we navigated unexpected situations - from suggestions on labor positions to encouraging words. We appreciated all she did!

Before this process began, I had no clue what a Doula was. Looking back, I cannot imagine what it would've been like to bring our daughter into the world without Sue! We could not have asked for a better experience as she was incredibily knowledgable and informative throughout the entire process. We had multiple visits to make sure we were on the same page before the birth and on the day of, she was there with us the entire time and made it so much more comfortable and fun. She was able to ask questions and identify things that we would not have thought of. She felt like family and we will absolutely be calling her up for our next baby!
3/10/2022
Sue was our Doula for the birth of our second child. I knew I wanted my second birth to be different than my first and I wanted to be unmedicated. After I first met Sue, I knew that I wanted her to be part of our birth. Knowing I would have my husband and Sue there every step of the way through labor made me feel much more at ease this time around. The birth of our second child was a completely different experience in the best way possible. I wish I would have known of Sue for the birth of my first child. We would highly recommend Sue as a Doula to any expecting parents.

We loved having Sue as our doula. I didn’t have an epidural for birth and knew having a doula would be key. Sue ensured we had a good understanding of all the tools and techniques available during labor. At the birth center we consulted her whenever we had to make decisions, she helped with pain management and also moving labor along by trying different positions, and she took detailed notes of the labor. She also took pictures which are so special to have! She’s been a great resource during postpartum as well. It’s been so helpful to have someone we trust that we can text with questions as often as they come up. You’ll definitely feel taken care of with Sue as your doula!

The single best decision we made in preparing for the birth of our first daughter, was to hire Sue. After interviewing several doulas, it was clear that Sue was the doula for us. Her years of experience (nearly 400 births!), focus on the entire family and confident deameanor were the perfect fit for our family. We particularly loved that Sue prioritized my husband and made sure the labor and delivery were still very much about the two of us going through this experience together, with Sue there for additional support.
We loved that Sue met with us prior to the delivery as well! She created our birth preferences, which was a huge stress reliever for us. She even printed copies and brought them to the hospital for us to share with the staff. She was also a phenomenal resource in talking through different aspects of labor, such as what atmosphere we would want in the delivery room (electric candles, low lighting, calm music), what support tools she could provide (wait until you see her Mary Poppins bag of tricks and treats!) and what to pack in our hospital bag. My ultimate goal was to have an unmedicated delivery and Sue gave me the confidence and affirmations I needed to achieve that goal! We now have a beautiful baby girl and my labor and delivery was ideal becuase of Sue! She stayed with us after the birth to ensure I had a successful first breastfeeding session with my little one as well.
In the weeks following, she visited our family and continues to check in with us to provide support with any concerns we may have. This has been tremendously helpful especially since my milk didn't come in initially, so Sue's lactation conselor background helped us get through our initial concerns. If you are considering a doula, we cannot recommend Sue enough. She truly feels like part of our family and we will be forever grateful that she was part of our daughter's birth!

Sue was a great addition to our birth team. She stuck with us through a long, eventful labor, and her energy and positivity never waned! She brought great ideas to the table for the birth itself, and kept me (the non-birthing partner) fed and cared for. Sue handled so many details that we wouldn't have thought of, or have been able to manage well during the process, allowing us to be focused and present and joyful during what might have otherwise been a stressful experience. She has continued to keep in touch and be a warm presence in our lives since the birth of our sweet baby boy!
7/28/2021
Sue was our doula for the birth of our first baby earlier this year, and we have only great things to say about her! She met with us a couple of times before our baby arrived to discuss our birth preferences. We had to make some changes along the way, since our baby girl was breech right up to the end. Sue was so helpful in giving us advice on things we could do to try to coax her to flip. She also put us at ease once it became clear that we would be having a C-section. Although it was not our original birth plan, Sue made us feel comfortable and confident going into the birth. It was also very nice to have her in the OR to keep me updated on what was happening with the baby for the few minutes that the nurses and her dad took her for her initial measurements. Sue stayed with me afterwards when the baby had to be taken to the warmer for a half hour, and my husband felt like he could go with the baby without feeling like he was leaving me alone. Sue also helped us with the first feed, which was very helpful. She has followed up with us after the birth as well and has made sure we've felt supported all the way through. Sue is so knowledgeable and has a personality that really puts you at ease and makes you feel confident. We love Sue and would recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!
6/26/2021
We are forever grateful to have had Sue as our doula during the pregnancy and birth of our second daughter. Throughout my pregnancy, she was eager to answer questions promptly, provide encouragement, and check in whenever we needed. Not only is Sue so experienced and knowledgeable about all things pregnancy/birth/babies, she brings such a peaceful, gentle, calming, and confident energy to each interaction. She is also an excellent listener and very detail-oriented. During my labor, Sue helped us achieve the calm, peaceful birth we were so hoping for. She came well-equipped with lots of comfort measures that helped ease my nausea and back pain and cope with contractions. Sue was very affirming and had such a strong, confident presence when we needed it most. She helped us process through our birth and ease into parenting two children while letting us know she is still available for anything we need. We highly recommend Sue as a doula!
6/7/2021
Sue was an amazing partner throughout my pregnancy, birth, and post partum! Sue provides a knowledgeable, calming, reassuring voice. I felt comfortable asking any questions that came up, and her responses were always rooted in research she has done. She was also always willing to send articles and resources to ensure credibility. Sue was always quick to respond to texts and calls. During the birth, Sue was such a great support to both myself and my husband. She allowed him to be the main support person I needed and guided us through the process. After the birth, Sue reached out and was very helpful with any questions that came up. I can not picture my pregnancy, birth and post partum experience without Sue. She was monumental throughout the process!
3/23/2021
We first learned about Sue through my sister-in-law who used her for both of their births. She raved about their experiences and I knew that I had to meet Sue as we interviewed doulas. After our first meeting I told my husband I didn't need to interview anyone else! Sue was so warm and engaging and I knew I wanted her energy with me on delivery day. Throughout the entire process Sue was always available to answer questions no matter how big or small. I never felt pressured to make my birth plan anything other than what I wanted, Sue was great at remaining neutral but provided tons of info that helped me make informed decisions. When I went into labor quickly, Sue arrived within 15 minutes ready to roll. I strayed from some of the things that I thought I wanted during labor but Sue rolled with it and helped me find different options. When I felt nauseous, she had essential oils ready. When my husband ate stinky food, she even had gum for him! And when I couldn't think straight about what position to labor in, she suggested something that I wouldn't have even known was available! It was a busy night and the midwives were bouncing between rooms and it made me so grateful to have Sue there alongside the nurses and my husband. The teamwork we created allowed me to stay focused on my breathing while Sue and others had the other aspects under control. Sue even managed to take pictures and create a timeline of labor, which was so great to have after the fact. After our daughter was born, Sue helped me breastfeed and spent some time with us debriefing the day. She even helped us order food! After we arrived home, Sue came to visit and follow up within the first few days. I am so grateful that we decided to hire Sue for such an important time in our lives. We loved working with her and if we are lucky enough to have another child, we will 100% hire her again!!

When my wife first told me she wanted to work with a doula, I had my doubts of the necessity of the addition to our birth plan.
I'm very happy to say that I was dead wrong and having now worked with Sue I can easily say that it was the single best plan we made. Having Sue around to comb out the details and help us stick to our birth plan was crucial and I don't know how I ever could have slept without her help.
Thank you Sue!

This was our second time using Sue as our doula - we can't recommend her enough!
We first hired Sue in 2016 for our first birth - my husband and I loved her as soon as we met her and were excited to work with her. Though we had wished for a natural birth, we had to schedule a c-section, but thankfully Sue was still able to support us. She attended our external version appointment to attempt to flip our breech baby (which was unsuccessful), and then the OB allowed her to be in the operating room during my surgery. Her calming presence was invaluable.
We knew we wanted to work with her again for our next pregnancy, and when we informed her that we would be having a VBAC at home with a midwife, she was excited for us and ready to help. Her encouragement and excitement helped us stay positive and hopeful for a healing, natural birth.
Almost four years after the birth of our first daughter, our second girl was born at home with the help of our incredible birth team.
When I called Sue to tell her that labor was progressing, she got to me as quickly as possible and jumped right in to help. She was right there encouraging me, holding me, helping me breathe through contractions, and squeezing my hips to help ease the pain.
There's no doubt that she was a big part of me being able to achieve my dream home birth, and I will forever be grateful.
Sue also makes a detailed log of the birth, keeping track of the progression and times, as well as details about the environment and who was present. Having all of that information postpartum is incredible, especially since most of the details fade from your memory quickly.
Sue keeps in contact regularly after birth - she checks in frequently and is always available to answer questions. She's a wonderful wealth of knowledge and experience!
We're so thankful for Sue - she's an incredible doula, and you won't regret having her by your side!

Sue was my doula for the birth of both of my daughters! One was born October 2019 and the next December 2020. For my very first birth in 2013 I did not have a doula and my birth didn't go as planned. So with my second, I very much doubted my ability to give birth without interventions.
I ended up having 2 successful, intervention free births at the Minnesota Birth Center with Sue as my doula. My husband and I both agree that I/we could not have done it without her!
Sue is calm, laid back, and extremely knowledable. She is a fantastic doula, and she brought so much peace of mind to me during the birth of my babies!
11/11/2020
Sue was incredibly wonderful to work with from the start! She made my husband and I feel at ease for the birthing process and prepared us with what to expect despite so many unknowns during birth and labor. We felt really prepared going into the hospital from her guidance and were grateful to get to have that preparation with her ahead of time.
She made us feel at ease and was very helpful and available via text message to answer any questions and follow up with us once we got home from the hospital.
We would absolutely recommend her services to anyone looking for pre-birthing help!
9/11/2020
We had a wonderful experience with Sue. She made the whole birth process for us, as first time parents, enjoyable and low-stress. She is extremely responsive and very dedicated to her clients. She is very experienced and carries a long list of credentials and accredations. When educating us and answering our questions, she draws on her training and over 20 years of experience to provide us with the perfect combination of fact-based and experience-based teachings and responses. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone else expecting and looking for a doula. She was amazing and we are so happy we chose her.

Our experience with Sue for our baby prenatal, delivery, and postpartum has been nothing short of utmost perfection. Sue is not only incredibly professional and organized, but more importantly in this field, she is a warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, strong, and has a likeable presence.
From sites like these, I found Sue and knew we needed an interview. We interviewed many doulas and some doula networks, but Sue stood out easily in our mind. Her presence alone at the interview shone through and it was exactly what we would need and want come delivery time. She's got the history and confidence of a guru doula. All of her services were layed out clear as day, and they have been honed down to what they are today to make them cover everything you can think of - which as a first time mom, was extremely relieving and stress-reducing. She also has her Mary Poppins bag full of magical powers to help a variety of different women succeed in the labor zone. I was a bit disappointed it worked so well for me, I wanted to try out more of the bag! This is a good thing though - Sue knew exactly what we should try from her bag based on how my labor was proceeding, and each item she pulled, she hit the target in the bullseye. I'm not sure how her strength never faded during my labor, she applied counterpressure it seemed during each contraction once I had back labor. It was a necessity for me, and she never gave up. She also challenged me to continue laboring and encouraged me at the same time. There was no doubt of safety or security - quite the opposite - Sue emphasized how safe and normal and fabulous my labor was going the entire time which also added priceless emotional value to our experience.
There is no question that we'd go with Sue for future labors. I will be recommending her to my network enthusiastically.

Sue was an absolute must-have in my labor and delivery. Neither my husband or I can imagine going through the process without her. We were extremely lucky that our hospital began allowing doulas into the delivery rooms the week before my son arrived. Up until that point, I had resigned myself to the idea that Sue would not be physically present. During this time we are all adapting as best as we can. But my labor took a lot longer than expected and her very calming presence and constant assurance that I was doing all I had to do was huge. I delivered with the U of M midwives and Sue worked alongside the entire staff beautifully. She helped us write our birthplan, she took incredibly detailed notes throughout the labor - which I really treasure now!, she reminded me to drink water, eat snacks and stay positive. She continues to check in on me now although we are two weeks from the birth. I find it so comforting to have someone knowledgable to fall back on.
7/1/2020
I had a wonderful experience with Sue. Especially during this challenging time, Sue really came through for me and my family. She made sure to have multiple Zoom meetings with us, and always stressed her availability should I have any questions, which was very reassuring. For the actual labor, when my husband couldn't come due to hospital regulations, she brought her laptop to access a Zoom meeting so my husband could feel part of things, and she made sure to call him and keep him updated at every stage of the process - and even took pictures of the newborn for us! As a doula, Sue was both capable and comforting, using different positions and techniques to keep the labor moving forward. She was always there, endlessly supportive, and really kept me going. The labor was a positive, wonderful experience, thanks to Sue! This is not to mention the follow-up, making sure both mother and baby (and family!) were doing well. One wonderful touch was the birth timeline Sue kept during the labor, which kept track of what happened at exactly what time. It was a great way to look back and relive the day our baby was born! Thank you so much for everything!

Sue went above and beyond to support us before, during, and after our birth despite not being able to physically be there in person due to Covid-19 restrictions. She was available via text, phone, and facetime/zoom during all the important phases and stages of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She not only helped support me, but my husband as well. Her experience, advice and support was invaluable to us as first time parents. She is gentle, understanding, non-judgmental, and very intelligent. I would highly recommend Sue to guide you on your labor journey! We will be using her services again in the future and have recommended her to many friends!
6/25/2020
My husband and I initially reached out to Sue upon the recommendation of some friends of ours who had used her services six months prior, and sang her praises. We met with her and immediately signed an agreement to have her as our doula. Throughout my pregnancy, Sue was an incredible resource for not only preparing for birth, but any questions we had along the way as well. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic hitting about a month before my due date, there were additional complications and anxieties that arose with our birth plan. Sue helped us navigate the pandemic and set our minds at ease by providing up to date information about what other doulas were finding in the hospitals, as well as helping us ensure that we were still able to have the birth experience we wanted. Throughout labor and delivery, we were able to be in touch with Sue and have her assisting us remotely, which went very well. After we came home from the hospital, Sue's expertise and support was unmatched by anyone in our lives! She was so helpful and supportive while I navigated postpartum healing and breastfeeding. Sue also checked in with us regularly for the first two months after our baby was born. We are so happy that we had Sue be a part of this whole experience, and would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking a doula!
5/30/2020
We worked with Sue to help us navigate the birth of our first child and as a resource for support after the birth. Sue was wonderful to work with and offered us everything we could have possibly hoped for. Unfortunateley due to the coronavirus pandemic, all of our interactions were virtual and Sue was not able to join us in the hospital. However, our virtual visits and text and phone communication throughout the process was intstrumental in helping us feel prepared and comfortable. Sue answered all of our questions leading up to the birth and created a birth plan that we used in the hospital which was very helpful. She was always available for questions no matter what time or how insignificant the question may have been. As first-time parents, it was extremely comforting knowing Sue would be available to us. We had one moment where our newborn started throwing up and crying excessively. We called Sue and she walked us through what was happening and how to manage the situation.
Sue is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and professional. We felt like Sue was family during this special time for us. We would recommend Sue to anyone for both birth and post-birth support. We're hoping that if we're lucky enough to have another child that Sue will be able to join us in person!

Sue is amazing!! As a first time mom who, other than my husband, had no family in the state, it was incredibly reassuring and helpful to have Sue as our doula and support person during our pregnancy, birth and postpartum time. I was hospitalized at 33 weeks for 5 days and during that stay I was prepped a few different times for birth which was scary because it was obviously not in our plan. Sue was with us and gave us emotional support that helped during that very scary time. Fortunately we were able to continue the pregnancy to full term with no other complications. When it came to our actual birthing time, we were in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Thankfully our birth center allowed doulas to attend birth in person, and she was able to be with us while we were at the birth center. She offered physical and emotional support during my very difficult labor. I trusted her expertise and felt safe with her in the room, even when the things that were going on in my labor were not going as desired or planned. She was never overbearing or ever tried to control any situations - she was simply present and offered her warmth. We ended up transferring to the hospital where she unfortunately could not be with us but she still checked in often and we knew she was there for us the whole time. I wasn't expecting much after our birth, but Sue continued to reach out and offer advice and help to us as we navigated our new life as parents. My husband and I feel so blessed and lucky that she has become an important part of our pregnancy, birth, and early parenting story and we can't thank her enough for everything she has done for us. I'll also note that my husband was a bit skeptical to hire a doula at first, and after our hospital stay at 33 weeks he was 100% sold. He realized what an important role doulas play and for us specifically, how amazing Sue was for us. If we decide to have any more children, we will definitely hire Sue again!

Sue was great to work with! She was incredibly responsive to text messages and phone calls in the weeks leading up to my baby's birth, when I was in labor, and my first few weeks postpartum.
She was a positive support and coach during my birth. She provided great support for my husband as well and made sure he was included and involved in the birth.
We would recommend Sue to other expecting parents!

We are so thankful to have found Sue as our doula! She was an incredibly helpful resource for us before, during, and after the delivery of our first child. We felt comfortable with her immediately during our initial interview, as it was easy to see her compassion for others and expertise in the birthing process. She was extremely fast to respond to all of our (sometimes silly) questions though text, email, and phone calls. She was just as reassuring and supportive when meeting in person, too! Her flexibility in scheduling meetings (including nights and weekends) was very much appreciated. During labor, Sue was great about staying in constant contact with us. Although our delivery didn't go as we had planned, Sue swooped in to support momma, baby, and daddy right away! We wouldn't hesitate to recommended Sue to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable advocate in the birthing process!

Being first time parents, we quickly agreed that adding a doula to our care team would help calm any anxieties we had about labor, and help us navigate all the information we were receiving from classes and online resources. We interviewed several doulas to find the right fit, and enthusiastically selected Sue. Her decades of experience are unmatched in the Twin Cities and really stood out, and we were comforted knowing she had already seen it all - we felt confident there was nothing she couldn't handle. Throughout the process of developing our birth plan, Sue was a gentle guide. She didn't push anything on us, just provided the information, answered questions based on her experience, and helped us arrive at our own conclusions. During early labor, she was there in the middle of the night answering texts to guide my husband and I on when to go into the hospital. During pushing, she was the captain of the room and by my side giving me courage and support (while at the same time not limiting the role of my husband). After, she took the most amazing candid photos of our new family and surprised me with the best peanut butter toast of my life knowing I would be starving (it's the little things, really). We are so thankful for Sue!

Sue provides amazing support, reassurance, and guidance during our pregnancy and birth. She was very attentative and provided extensive knowledge during the birthing process. She seemed to come up with all of the best things to do while I was working through contractions with an all natural birth. I highly recommend her and would definitely hire her again as our doula.

I sought out the services of a doula as I struggle with anxiety and knew having a knowledgeable birthing coach who was not my husband would be useful. It was wonderful to have her on my team for my first baby. The two prenatal meetings were useful; however, I know they would have been better suited for a person/couple who was very unfamiliar with the process of labor and delivery. I spent months reading articles and books, as well as talking to all the mothers in my life to learn all I could, so I didn’t have many questions besides her role in the process. It was nice to have her put together a birth preference document to ease my own preparations. I was really looking forward to Sue's vast array of techniques to ease labor pain, but I was unable to get that benefit as I was induced on my due date for medical reasons and chose to get an epidural prior to the AROM. Early in the induction I used nitrous oxide (on Sue’s recommendation) that helped greatly with my anxiety and prevented me from needing pain medication much earlier than I did. I am sensitive to Pitocin so needed it to be reduced several times before my labor really started. Sue arrived after I’d been in the hospital for 32 hours, just prior to things advancing more quickly (just short of 12 hours after my water was broken). When it came time for me to begin pushing, she was there to hold up one of my legs and coach me through it with the help of my nurse and it was wonderful to have someone there who knew what was happening, how to help, and what to say to explain what was going on to a first time mom that just wanted to sleep. I especially liked that she took pictures just after so my mother and husband could focus on me and the baby. The postnatal visit is what I found most valuable in my situation as it was great to recap everything that had happened and to get the birth story in writing.

Working with Sue as a doula was one of the most valuable decisions I made while pregnant, especially since this was my first time.
Sue was incredibly helpful during pregnancy and encouraged me to reach out to her with any questions, even when I was nervous I was asking too much! There are so many unknowns in a pregnancy and labor, and the fact that Sue was very knowledgeable and caring helped me get through it all with a peace of mind. Even the creation of my labor plan was beneficial because there were many options I did not know about!
My labor did not go as we had hoped it would in my labor plan, and Sue helped us decide how to proceed in a way that would be healthy to both mom and baby. Without her by my side I would have been so much more panicked and unsure of what to do. My husband is a data driven man that is skeptical of opinions from non-doctors, but after meeting with Sue, he saw that she is extremely knowledgeable and all her information is backed by data. This was very valuable because he trusted her when we needed her advice to make a quick medical deicison. During my labor Sue was extremely encouraging, helpful, and had little tricks to help make it go more smoothly.
I was also really touched by Sue's involvement with us post-partum. Having a first child is very emotionally and physically overwhelming, and Sue was my rock during the first few difficult weeks. She was always checking in to make sure I was doing okay, and she helped me through a lot of emotional ups and downs.
Sue is an incredible doula that feels like a combination of mom, friend, nurse, and educator. I was incredibly lucky to work with her in my pregnancy, labor, and post-partum period, and I highly recommend her for everyone.

Originally my husband and I were uncertain about hiring a doula. A few friends were insistent that a doula would be a wonderful guide through our first pregnancy especially considering we don’t have family in town. We are so delighted we hired Sue after our initial meeting!
Sue met with us a couple of times before the delivery and was always available for quick questions. She helped us understand 5e questions we would be asked and decisions that needed to be made. When health required an early delivery, Sue was honest about her schedule and magically made it all work. She provided terrific support at the hospital and stayed for an hour after delivery to ensure we were doing ok and share pictures she took (we didn’t even think about taking post labor pictures!)
Postpartum is where Sue became invaluable. She checked in with us regularly and was wonderful for general baby questions and most importantly lactation concerns. Our friends and family were so grateful that she was in our lives.
We highly recommend Sue as a doula and if we have children in the future she will be the first one we call!

Sue was a fantastic doula that helped us prepare for birth, have a successful and positive birthing experience and answer questions and provide advice post partum. We immediately felt at ease with Sue and really valued how collaborative and supportive she was. In the process of preparing for birth and creating a birth plan, she helped us determine what we wanted in our experience and provided information on the pros and cons of various options. We never felt like she pushed us towards a certain decision, but rather that she provided support and guidance that helped us feel secure and prepared.
During labor, Sue was a fantastic extra set of hands as well as an important advocate for our desires. She was able to help us interface with the hospital staff in a positive and collaborative way. She provided emotional and physical support for labor and delivery and made sure to answer our questions and capture key moments. She also kept a log of everything that happened during the process and prepared a birth timeline for us which was very helpful in reflecting on the event afterwards.
Post labor, she has been an invaluable resource for questions as they arise. She checks in frequently to ensure that we are all doing well and encourages us to ask her any questions or raise any concerns to her. Overall, we really appreciated Sue's support throughout the process and would highly recommend her to others considering a doula.

This is our first child and we weren’t sure what to expect but we were Informed about birth Doula’s through our kinesiologist to help us with the whole process of birth and the immediate time after with breastfeeding and any other questions we would have. We are very glad we found Sue, she helped us prepare for the day, well ahead of time so we were able to go in more prepared with the process and also with what to pack in a hospital bag. I ended up going into labor late at night and gave Sue the call around 2 am when we got to the hospital and she answered right away, we were admitted and we gave her a text to head down around 4 am when things were starting to get active. She arrived shortly after we contacted her and immediately we had that sense of having someone we felt comfortable with to help us. She made sure to keep me hydrated and encouraged my husband to do the same. I ended up laboring in a few positions and ended up having our baby boy at 9:44 am. One great thing about the whole process was that when she arrived at the hospital she handed the nurse and midwife our birth preference sheet and from that moment forward there wasn’t a single question that needed to be answered, all our wants on the sheet had been taken into consideration and we were thankful that Sue had thought of seemingly every question that would need to be answered so there was no last minute things we needed to decide on. After birth she stayed with us and helped with the first feeding and then when it was time she left. She stopped by for a home visit and we chatted for a while with questions we had and she offered support anytime we need it. We will 100 percent use her in the future and would recommend her to anyone looking for some comfort and help in their birthing journey!

As first time parents, my husband and I had no idea what to expect from the labor and postnatal experience. We were so grateful to have Sue as our guide! Sue not only has a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area, but also has such a kind and calming presence, which was indispensable during our delivery. We could not have asked for a better doula...thank you, Sue!
6/7/2019
Sue was everything we were looking for in a doula, and more. She was a calm, confident presence before, during, and after the birth of our son. Sue came to the birth prepared with all the supplies I thought I'd need (like honey sticks), and some I didn't think I'd need but ended up very happy to have (like anti-nausea aromatherapy). She was a lifesaver for my husband who was relieved not to be my sole supporter through my all-night labor. She gave helpful suggestions for labor positions to conserve energy and was supportive of all my pain relief choices. She truly cares about her clients and was a real partner in our birth experience.

When we found out we were expecting it was very important to me to find a doula to support my husband and I throughout the birthing process. I knew that I wanted to try to have an unmedicated birth and as first time parents we were going into the whole situation blind. We are so thankful that we found Sue, she was so wonderful to work with. She talked to us about what to expect and made us feel comfortable and confident in our choices. Any question you might have, she has the answer! With her wealth of experience and knowledge I know she played a big role in helping my husband to better understand the process and what to expect. Talking about the experience afterwards, neither my husband nor I know what we would have done without her! When we asked Sue to come to the hospital she helped me walk the halls and cope with contractions while my husband was able to squeeze in a nap. Throughout my labor she reminded my husband to eat and take breaks, helped me in and out of the birthing tub, reminded me to drink water, and about a million other things. She could not have been more helpful and she was such a reassuring voice to have by my side during the birthing process. While taking care of the both of us, she still managed to snag some of THE most amazing photos of our daughter being born. We will cherish them forever. After I gave birth Sue was always available for any questions that I had. She is quick to respond and has such a wealth of knowledge when it comes to newborns and breastfeeding. I am so thankful for everything that Sue did for our family during such an important time in our lives. We have already decided we will be hiring Sue again with our next pregnancy! We love Sue and will recommend her to any of our expectant friends and family.

As a first time mom, I was very scared of child birth. Sue helped me remain calm throughout my pregnancy. Whenever something unexpected would pop up, I could contact her and she would ease my mind. During my labor, Sue was there to talk me through contractions and make me feel at ease with the decisions that I was making. She is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience with all types of births. She genuinely wants each mom to feel strong and empowered with the decisions that they are making. If I have any other babies we will definitely work with her again!
1/22/2019
We will forever be grateful that we hired Sue to be our doula and be apart of our birth team. She exceeded our expectations months leading up to the birth of our daughter and the months after. We appreciated her openness of helping us build our birth plan that we felt comfortable with. She was there for us when our birth plan didn’t go as planned and helped us feel comfortable during this transition . She was a constant support when we had questions or concerns and always addressed every situation in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
We would highly recommend Sue to anyone looking for support before, during and after welcoming their little one. She is beyond amazing!

My relationship with Sue began when I was given the advice to find a post partum doula before our son Matthew was born. It was the best thing that could have happened for both of us! I was a little hesitant at first, thinking about inviting a complete stranger into our house, but after one conversation with her, I knew she was the one. We had an instant connection on the phone and I immediately felt relieved. She was warm, kind, and with her cheery demeanor, I knew she was our gal. Sue is so knowledgeable in her field and you can definitely tell she loves what she does. Matthew ended up coming earlier than we thought and she was very flexible with changing the dates of our visits. Then, when we met in person, the way she handled and talked with Matthew put me at ease. I knew we were well taken care and with her assistance, I was able to focus on my own self care. By the time we had our last visit, the conversation, chemistry and the way she was with Matthew made me think of her as more than our doula, she was now a friend. I was very sad to know our time with her was up, but knew this wasn't the end of our relationship. She still checks in on us from time to time and I LOVE that I know she's always a text or phone call away if we need it. We are so lucky to have met her and I know that if we get blessed with more children, she'll be one of the first people we call. We love you Sue and thank you soooooo much for all the help you gave our family!

My wife and I weren't planning on hiring a doula -- we had no cause for concern, no pregnancy complications, we both have supportive families, etc. But all our friends who used a doula highly recommended we hire one too. Sue Chargo came highly recommended from our Nurse Practitioner friend (who interviewed four doulas), so we decided to hire her.
From the very beginning we were both impressed with Sue's demeanor and expertise. She is extremely knowledgeable while also being empathic and easy to get to know. The idea of having a stranger be a part of this very intimate moment was a little scary, but after the first meeting we knew we were in very good hands with Sue.
Sue helped us prepare for the hospital visit, and she was a sounding board for us when we had some labor questions (e.g. is it time or not?). My wife was very anxious about everything, and Sue was fantastic at hearing her concerns and providing comforting insight.
When it came to the big moment, Sue was incredible! My wife was in labor for 18 hours, and Sue was available the whole time to help her feel comfortable. She knew to step back when my wife and I wanted to be close, and she was there to step in when the pain needed to be managed more actively. She helped cultivate a comforting atmosphere, and she offered helpful coaching when it came time to push. When the baby was born, she stepped back entirely to allow us to have our special moment as a brand-new family! She took notes throughout the whole time so we would have our experience documented, and she took some of the most amazing photos during some key moments.
Both my wife and I are so grateful for Sue's help. We can't imagine going through this without her, and we will definitely hire her again for the birth of our next little one.

We were so grateful to have Sue as part of our pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. When we hired her I was hoping to have a minimally medicated vaginal birth. As my pregnancy progressed various complications with my heath added to my stress and worry about birthing the way I envisioned. Sue was wonderful at steadying my nerves about giving birth for the first time. I knew that she would be there to support myself and my husband. As a result of my complications I had to be induced at 37 weeks. The induction process took days and Sue was checking in frequently so that she could arrive when active labor began. When she did arrive her presence gave my husband and I great comfort. We had been waiting so long for the induction to get things going and seeing Sue meant that we were getting closer to meeting our baby! Sue had not been with me for long and my baby's heart rate was starting to have trouble because of my pregnancy complications. There was a time when there was a lot of commotion in the room and Sue was there supporting us emotionally and physically. The final outcome, to ensure my baby's safety, was a C-section. Having Sue in post op with us was amazing. She integrates into your life and feels like family. We were so happy to share the experience with her and so grateful for her support. She visited us twice postpartum. She was always so excited to see our baby and hear about how we were doing. She provided us with a beautiful narrative of my birth story which contained many of the little details I forgot such as my nurses name and the times at which things happened. It was so special to have those details. It gave us peace of mind to know that if we needed her we could have hired her for postpartum doula support. We are so thankful for Sue. Doula support is so important. The unknown's of birth can be scary. Having Sue at your side will provide your family with calm support so that you may enjoy your pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.

Sue is very easy to connect with, makes you feel confident and comfortable, and is very knowledgeable. I had a very successful and empowering birth experience and Sue played a tremendous role in that.
Pre-natal: Sue was able to help my husband and I narrow down what we wanted from our birth experience. She presented us with the multitude of options and then asked questions that helped us determine what we wanted. She was very open-minded about possible preferences. She did not lean one way or another but instead presented us with the research and facts and let us decide. I appreciated her knowledge of both traditional western medicine as well as more holistic methods.
Birth Experience: Having Sue at the hospital with me was the best thing about my birth. I felt so comforted to have a familiar face there other than my husband. While the nurses were in and out checking on all of their patients, Sue was by my side helping me through my contractions and answering all of my questions. She helped me advocate for my needs where I otherwise might not have thought to ask. She aided me in pushing and helped my husband and I connect right away with our son. She offered immediate breastfeeding support that set us up for success.
Post-Partum: After we delivered, Sue checked in on us almost every day. The day my milk came in was a difficult transition for us and Sue came to our home for immediate support. She stayed until our son was happily eating and I felt confident feeding him. This post-partum visit was extremely helpful. She visited a second time post-partum and helped me figure out my breast pump and answered all of my questions about trying out a bottle. She was always available via text or phone to answer my questions quickly and kindly.
I whole-heartedly recommend Sue Chargo as a doula and think your experience will be greatly enhanced with her at your side.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Sue and the services she provided to my husband and I during our pregnancy, labor and delivery process, and postpartum care. From the first time we met with Sue, we knew she would be a perfect match for us…and we were right! She was a kind and gentle demeanor about her and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to childbirth and pre/postnatal care. Sue helped guide us in setting up our birth preferences and really eased our minds about the entire birthing experience. She always made herself available to us if we had questions and was prompt in answering emails and texts. During those first few days at home when we were so busy adjusting to life as new parents, she continued to check in and offer support and guidance. Her gentle and calm approach during the labor and delivery helped my husband and I stay relaxed. I truly believe that Sue’s knowledge and guidance helped ease my discomfort and pushed my labor along, more than I could have done on my own. She provided insight and suggestions to my husband throughout the laboring process so he was able to be involved and helpful to me. I can’t speak highly enough of Sue and our experience with her. As our prenatal experience has come to an end, it’s sad to think we will not continue to be in contact with Sue. However, I know she is always available to answer any questions we have and I look forward to connecting with her if and when we decide to have another baby!

Sue was a phenomenal resource and help during our first weeks home with our daughter. She is kind, knowledgable, and professional. She helped both of us feel comfortable with our baby, and provided support when needed. After our time with Sue, she reached out several times to check in on us and our baby. We are so glad we decided to work with her!

While my husband and me both knew from the beginning that we wanted doula support during the birth, we largely underestimated how critical and appreciated Sue's support would be, both for the birth and post-birth experience. From the intial meeting until the last postpartum visit, Sue genuinely and holistically cared for our family-- she affirmed our desires, listened to our fears, and brought wisdom, experience, and compassion to each conversation and visit. While the birth was radically different than what we had envisioned, ultimately ending with a c-section, Sue's presence throughout each chapter of labor, delivery, and recovery was incredibly calming; her naturally intuitive self gently guided both myself and my husband through the process, alleviating fears, doubts, and concerns when labor took a few twists and turns. While much of the c-section and hours after were a blur, I distinctly (and always will) remember Sue's presence and the comfort that it brought to our family. I was so pleasantly surprised that the same comfort and care extended far beyond the birth-- she was so attentive and checked on us almost daily. Even while she was on vacation the week after our birth, she provided the kindest ongoing support and encouragement as I navigated breastfeeding challenges and the adjustment to motherhood. Her post-partum visits felt like an old (and very wise) friend stopping by to love on our babe and check on us. We will forever credit our incredibly positive birth experience to the amazing team we were surrounded by, especially including Sue.

This was our 3rd birth but our first birth using a doula. Sue was leader of a "mommy and me" class I took with my 2nd child so when we got pregnant, she was one of the first people I thought of. We interviewed 3 women and Sue was the best fit for us! Sue was so supportive during my pregnancy to both me and my husband, and when I started contracting every week starting at 35 weeks, she checked in regularly. The meetings beforehand were really helpful, especially when she brought her "tool kit". She was so organized, I didn't have to worry about forgetting anything because she was so prepared.
I went into labor in the middle of the night and Sue met us at the hospital right away. She was my advocate to the nurses while her and my husband helped me through my contactions ( I had a natural birth this time). She knew the things I needed without me saying and was amazing for my husband- he said he was so grateful she was there. She knew what hands-on techniques to use and what kind of verbal support I needed.
After the birth, she took pictures and stayed to make sure we had something to eat and helped me with nursing. She came to our house twice to check in, but also checked in regularly when she knew the "baby blues" and hormones would peak... having the post support was realy nice too and knowing that at any point I could reach out to her was amazing.
Bottom line, we had an wonderful experience. I love how supportive, easy going, knowledgable and humorus Sue is and highly recommend her!

We cannot begin to thank Sue enough for being part of our baby’s delivery. Sue exudes a calm and nurturing energy that we knew we wanted in the delivery room. The birth of our son went nothing like we had planned, but Sue was with us every step of the way to educate and encourage us. My husband was over the moon to have had her there for all 17 hours of my labor and wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again for our next birth. It was beyond helpful to have meetings before our delivery as well as check-ins after. Thank you, Sue, for your time, patience and kind heart. We are so happy you were there to welcome our son into the world.
5/18/2018
We loved having Sue as our doula! She made us feel very comfortable and shared a lot of information with us. Sue also let us schedule an extra appointment when we found out our baby was breech during which she showed us flipping techniques that ended up working and our baby turned spontaneously!

We chose Sue to be our doula for the birth of our 3rd child - and we are so glad that we did! Sue was so incredibly helpful during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She has such a warm and friendly personality and makes you feel like you've known her forever! Both my husband and I felt this way. This was a very important aspect for us when choosing a doula as they are witness to such an intimate and important part of our lives. She is incredibly easy to talk to and is extremely knowledgable about all aspects of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She always made me feel like I could contact her at any time with questions and was so very helpful with some of the questions that I had specifically around breastfeeding. I had a few different things come up with breastfeeding and she was able to help me work through everything -- her calm demeander and her attitude of "you can get through this!" gave me confidence in my ability to push through some of the breastfeeding challenges that I had. Another aspect I loved about Sue is that she didn't make me feel pressured to have my birth be a certain way -- she was great at provided gentle guidance and answering questions but ultimately left any decisions we made up to my husband and I. I could go on and on, but I will end with one thing that I think sets Sue apart. She had such a positive relationship/encounters along the way with all of the health providers that were part of the process -- the nurses, doctors, etc! It really made it seem that my husband, Sue, my doctors, and the nurses were part of a cohesive care and support team. I felt very well cared for! Like I said before, we are soooo happy that we chose Sue to be apart of this important part of our lives!

I've been remiss in writing this review of Sue! Sue was there as we welcomed our daughter Eve into the world late last fall and I'm so grateful. Her calm presence helped me know that everything was moving along just as it should. Plus, between she and my husband (and her coaching of my husband!) I was completely supported physically and emotionally. The whole labor went relatively fast once things got going so my memory is fuzzy at best, but I distinctinly remember Sue's guidance during pushing, which was a struggle for me, as VITAL! I was so wiped out, but Sue reminded me as each contraction came how I should breath and when/how to push. She held her breath with me, held my hand and told me when to push, I honestly don't know how I would have done it without her. To cap it off she got the sweetest photos of Eve and I meeting for the first time, my husband cutting the cord and his reaction as she arrived. What a blessing Sue was on our birth experience, thank you so much! Lastly, and I hope this doesn't happen to you, but our daughter arrived promptly (ha), two weeks late and Sue's knowledge and presence through that waiting game was so wonderful as well.

Sue was a tremendous support during labor, delivery, and recovery. She was able to answer our questions and provide insight on the many suggestions/recommendations made my the Dr during our very long induction. Due to the baby's position, we needed to have a c section. Sue came into the surgery along with my husband. After my baby was handed to my husband, Sue sat by me while they finished the surgery and gave me updates on my baby (told me his measurements, that he was skin to skin with my husband, etc.) and answered my questions as they finished the surgery. She also came to the recovery room after and helped with the initial breastfeeding. And during all of that she found time to take pictures and document the labor/delivery timeline!
We are so happy that we found Sue!
2/12/2018
Sue was an incredible resource during our childbirth journey. She helped us prepare ahead of time and we would have been so lost during our c-section without her. After baby's arrival, she has always been there to answer questions and reassure us. We can't recommend Sue highly enough!!

I don’t think I can even put into words how helpful it was to have Sue as our doula! From the moment my husband and I met with her, we knew we were going to be in good hands. She was very sweet, professional, and knowledgeable - she was just the kind of person we wanted to support us through the birth of my first baby. All of our questions, fears, and silly concerns were put to rest and I was able to walk into the birthing experience excited, calm, and confident.
My goal was to have a natural, unmedicated birth with a midwife and the support of my husband and Sue. The day I went into labor was quite interesting - everything started off slowly, but escalated quickly in the evening once my water spontaneously broke! We ended up meeting Sue at our freestanding birth center, but when my midwife checked me, she noticed that when my water broke, there was meconium in the fluid, requiring a non-emergency transfer to the hospital. I was upset that I wasn’t able to birth in the beautiful tubs at the birth center, but Sue was wonderful emotional support as she reassured me that I could still have a great birth experience! I was so grateful to have her there in that moment because I really needed that reassurance.
Once we arrived at the hospital, labor progressed quickly. Sue helped me with different positions, pain management techniques, and even had some great things for me to try when intense nausea kicked in. While much of the night is a blur, I remember having her on my left side and my husband on my right side holding my hands, encouraging me, and just being present. I felt like I had the best support team in the world!
We were able to successfully have a natural, unmedicated birth at the hospital - I was actually able to labor in the tub for a while as well! I am certain that having Sue there was a huge part of why our birth was such a calm, exciting, and simply wonderful experience. I would hire her all over again!!

Sue Chargo was great, she exceeded my exspectations for a doula. Sue was my first choice for my recent surrogacy pregnancy, labor and delivery. She was professional, friendly and accommodating from the initial phone call, meeting all the way through the end. She answered my questions, guided me as requested or needed and was always avaliable when needed. She has even checked in on me following the delivery which has been unexpected yet very welcomed. I wish I had been more informed about my labor and delivery options when I was pregnant with my bio-child. For this reason specifically is the reason I chose to hire a doula. Although this pregnancy was a surrogacy and had no biological connection to me, it was still my body and to have the support and guidance, Sue offered made the experience all that more rewarding. I was able to have an epidural free, pain medication free labor and delivery because of her support, advocacy and guidance. I will be forever grateful for Sue’s partnership and profession.

From the start, Sue was warm, knowledgeable, and her enthusiasm for our journey was genuine. She supported us in the months leading up to the birth, often helping us sort through the mountain of advice we were getting from friends, family, doctors, and the internet. Her expertise was particularly helpful when it came time to make a birth guideline. There were many considerations that we had not thought of and Sue helped us feel as prepared as we could be for any circumstance that should arise during delivery. This was extremely helpful when we experienced a long and complex labor. She made sure to be there quickly after we were admitted to the hospital and was a rock for both my husband and I after we had to deviate from our ideal birth plan. Sue’s timing in post-partum visits was excellent and she again provided much welcomed support and reassurance during those weeks. I am forever grateful that Sue was a part of the birth of our son and cannot recommend her highly enough to any parents-to-be.

I don't think I would have come out of this pregnancy and delivery so well if it wasn't for Sue. I'm so happy we decided to go with a doula and especially that we went with Sue. We interviewed several different doulas and groups, and they all had their good points, but Sue's experience and personality definitely made her the right match for us. She instantly put me at ease.
Our pre-meetings were great ways to get us comfortable with Sue and with what we were going to encounter in the delivery room. We had a physician group and were unsure who would actually be with us for the delivery and it was great to know that we would have one familiar person there (Sue).
Unfortunately, you can only be so prepared as every delivery has its own path. Sue was there for us every step of the way through my inconvenient and inconsistent delivery. Together, we tried to have the delivery go as I wanted / pictured. However, things didn't go the way I wanted as my body wouldn't cooperate. Sue was with me through every complication and change of strategy. She helped me make knowledge based decisions and helped me to trust that things were going to work out. The outcone was our beautiful baby girl.
I also appreciated that Sue's services and friendship didn't end at the hospital. I have the support with my sweet girl still. Sue is available for questions and to provide support and resources. I will definitely bring in Sue again for baby number 2.

Our experience with Sue was great! She was supportive and flexible from starting the process to the finish. My husband and I really liked her evidence based method of helping guide us through the birth process and decisions that we made. She was able to provide us with great information on our options going into buidlig our birth plan and tell us about various comfort options for labor. She helped us build a plan that we were comfortable with and made sure that we were as prepared as we could be. Since I had to be induced, we weren't able to use many options that we discussed and our birth plan became fluid depending on my needs. She was very focused on what was best for me and my husband throughout the evolving labor and delivery process. She was there for longer than she needed to be to help me cope with the pain and went above and beyond in helping support me as the labor progressed and into our delivery of our healthy son. She was able to quickly pinpoint what was most helpful for me throughout the process and worked to keep that our focus so that we could have the best delivery possible of our healthy baby boy.
After the birth, Sue also had great follow up, including a write up of what happened during the birth. She regularly followed up with texts to check in whether I needed any help and came by for several home visits, including offering addiitonal post-partum support. If I hadn't had a lot of family in the area, I would have taken her up on her offers to help. She also provided some good advice on baby behaviours and how to help with breast feeding, since I had some trouble in the beginning.
Overall, I would highly recommend Sue to anyone looking for a doula who is supportive with a strong scientific evidence background and a focus on educating her clients.

We loved working with Sue!
She has a natural ability to make you feel like you're old friends by quickly building trust and a connection. She uses her sense of humor and gentle spirit to soothe, yet brings an incredible knowledge and wisdom to the table. Because of her demeanor, we were filled with confidence that she knew what she was doing, yet was very attentive to what we wanted.
We were blown away by her ability to read me (mama) and work with dad during labor. She listened so well to our birth preferences and was able to advocate for us throughout the process- especially in the intense moments of labor when it would've been easy to forgo my birth preferences. We were so impressed with her ability to read the room. She worked well with doctors/nurses. You could tell they really respected her and that she was known throughout the hospital. She worked with me every step of the way. Sue was quick to suggest counter pressure measures, encourage, and help with breast feeding, and other post-partum questions.
She has been incredible since we've had the baby-- checking in, encouraging, making herself available to answer questions, visiting, etc. She truly feels like part of the family. We can honestly say that it was because of her that we were able to have the birth that we hoped and planned for. We will definitely use her for our next baby!

Sue was wonderful to work with! l would absolutely recommend her!

My husband and I hired Sue as our doula and could not be happier to have done so! She helped us deliver our beautiful baby boy in July of 2017. From the first time I met with Sue, I knew I wanted to have her by my side once our little boy decided to come in to the world. She was upbeat, friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, she listened to me. This was my second baby, so I knew how I wanted my birthing experience to go. Sue made notes of my wishes, answered my questions and provided recommendations when asked. On delivery day, Sue met us at the birthing center and remained by my side until our baby made his debut. She remained calm and comforting even when things got a little challenging for a bit, and really helped to keep my mind at ease. Post-delivery Sue came to our house to check in, and was always available via text or call for any little question I had. I cannot day enough great things about Sue, and plan to have her with us again if we decide on another addition to our family!

Sue was top notch! We met with Sue prior to hiring her to make sure that it was a good fit. I was pregnant with my first child and I really wanted help that wasn't biased or judgemental. I didn't know if my family or friends would be up for such a monumental task and my partner hates blood, pain, and needles.
I'm so happy that we found Sue!! She was great in every step. She helped coach us on what to expect from the birthing process, provided invaluable support while giving birth and help me gain more confidence with breastfeeding. She has so much knowledge and knows that everyone's birthing experience is unique. She was in tune to my needs as well as my partner's. She answered all of our texts, calmed our worries, and gave us the kind of support that we were looking for. I never felt judged by the decisions I made. She is a fantastic coach with tons of experience and insight. You can't go wrong hiring Sue as your doula.
8/11/2017
I would highly recommend Sue as your doula! From the moment my husband and I interviewed her we knew she would be a perfect fit for us. We were sold on her warm, compassionate spirit along with her high level of knowledge and expertise. Since it was my first pregnancy, I had a million questions throughout my pregnancy, labor, and postpardum. Sue was very quick to respond to every question with expertise, kindness and understanding. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, my labor did not go as planned and was extremely long. Sue was there to coach me through it and support my every decision. She also helped me with breastfeeding questions and concerns. She is an amazing resource to have during your journey into motherhood!
7/7/2017
Sue is an amazing doula! She has such a calming and kind presence. I was able to deliver without any medications (other than nitrous) or an IV and I don't know if I could have done it without Sue's calm voice guiding me through it. Sue is extremely knowledgeable and is available at anytime for questions and advice. Sue has a great bag of tricks and was very understanding, accommodating and creative to my individual needs. She made my husband and I feel comfortable. I highly recommend Sue!

The first "baby" thing we accomplished after learning I was pregnant was hiring a doula. I felt like that was the number one thing that I could do to put myself at ease. It was great to know that I would have that support during labor but also if questions arose during my pregnancy! Sue was great from the first time we met with her. My husband and I interviewed several doulas and ultimately we both felt that Sue was the best fit for us. Sue has a warm, endearing sense that made me feel at ease and comfortable from the beginning. Sue felt like a mom to me during the pregnancy and labor process. I felt like Sue would help and support us to make the best decision regardless of our sitaution. I ended up having an "easy" delivery with Sue's help. She encouraged me to try different positions etc. and baby arrived 3 hours after I checked into the hospital without an epidural. I was happy I was able to avoid an epidural, however, I was open to having one depending on the circumstances and I liked that Sue was willing to support either decision, unlike some other doulas I had met. My OB was also very happy that Sue was supportive of either option. Finally, my husband who didn't want much to do with the birth process and wasn't sure about hiring a doula in the beginning, was a rockstar with Sue's support---I couldn't have been more happy or surprised! I would 100% recommend Sue to anyone looking for a doula!

We were so thankful to have Sue Chargo as support throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum visits.
As first time parents we sought out an experienced doula to ensure we had the support we needed.
Sue was easy to communicate from the beginning. She has a calm demeanor and is really approachable.
From our perspective she was amazing to have at our side during labor. She nailed it with partnering with the nurses and identified that I could push more.
After the birth of our baby boy, I had lots of questions about breastfeeding or how to get this little boy to sleep on his own. I loved being able to text Sue the questions I had.
Sue was an important piece of of experience; I wish all families could experience having the care of a doula like Sue!

Sue was so helpful with the delivery of our twins, from helping us determine our birth plan to making sure we were settled in after their arrival. As luck would have it, most of our birth plan did not go according to plan and Sue helped us get through the unanticipated challenges as they came, working side by side with our medical team. She helped us get through the difficult moments and we were reassured having her there by our side. We are so grateful to Sue for her support and can't recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for a strong and experienced doula.

Both my husband and I are so thankful for Sue and her support through the whole process of having our first baby! We are planners and researchers and were feeling super overwhelmed with everything. Sue was a single source of knowledge that we trusted to guide us through the process which she did brilliantly! The pre-birth visits put our minds at ease and helped us to know what to expect. We had our son on Christmas day and Sue was there by our side the entire day and I don't know what we would have done without her! My husband loved having the expertise and he was SUPER grateful that Sue had him go eat meals because he wouldn't have otherwise. (Her being there also gave him the freedom to feel comfortable doing so). I don't even have words to express my gratitude for everything Sue did, she held my hand, used cold compresses on my forehead, and kept detailed notes from the day of since it was such a whirlwind for us (and so much more!). After our son was born, Sue came to visit and showed us how to give him a sponge bath and also taught me how to use my breastpump- which is super overwhelming for first time moms FYI. Sue being a lactation specialist was priceless and she helped my son latch soon after birth and everything went really well for us. I honestly cannot recommed using Sue for your doula enough- she is a wonderful person and someone you would be lucky to have by your side through the process. I know we will have her with us if we are lucky enough to have a second baby in the future!

When I found out that I was pregnant, I was very excited to hire a doula, but my husband was a little unsure about the idea of someone else being a part of out birth experience. I convinced him to at least meet with Sue, after reading the glowing reviews on this site, so we met with her in the second trimester. She was incredibly accommodating and willing to meet with us on our schedule. We met her for an interview, and it was immediately easy to see why people like her so much. Sue is confident, knowledgeable, charismatic, and caring. My husband was almost more excited to work with her than I was! Sue not only made me feel cared for and heard, but my husband was less intemidated by the upcoming birth, because he knew that he would also be supported and encouraged.
Sadly, we were unable to have a vaginal birth, as our baby was breech. We attempted to have the doctor move her through an external version and, while the procedure didn't work, Sue was more than willing to be there and support me during the procedure. The day of the C-section, my doctor was kind enough to allow Sue to be in the OR with my husband and I. She arrived early and helped keep me calm, and then she was an invaluable asset during the procedure. She held my hand and explained what was happening, and then she remained by my side while my husband was with the baby. After I gave birth, Sue stayed with us for an hour or two, helping us to adjust and breastfeed. Sue also came to our house twice to visit us after the baby was born, answering questions and giving us information and advice.
My husband and I are so grateful to Sue for being a part of our story. She was a wonderful source of information and love. Sue cares so much about what she does, and she makes you feel as though you're her only client. I look forward to working with her again someday, and I would recommend her to anyone!

We had the most wonderful experience with Sue from beginning to end! She was so kind, patient, and informative. She offers so much love and support and we could not have asked for a better arrangement!
Highly recomended!
11/23/2016
Phenomenal. Sue is amazing - I can't say enough great things about her and the service she provides. She went above and beyond any and all expectations on multiple occasions, was informative, kind, and understanding, and really took time to get to know us and our growing family. We had a scare early on in the pregnancy that required us to stay two nights at the hospital - Sue was right there, no questions asked, and never once made us feel like she was being put out. It's just who Sue is as a person. It was great having a go-to person to lean on when needed and to discuss how things are coming along and what to expect. There is so much we'd never have thought through if not for Sue. Big things like a birth plan - huge - down to the little things, like a calming scent or room music.
Flexible. Sue does house calls! There's nothing like not having to worry about getting everything ready to go out when you've got so much going on - she'll come right to your home before and after the birth at whatever day/time works best for you, or even meet for breakfast, coffee, or lunch to work through everything.
Professional and organized. Sue was aware of and on top of everything at all times. It's mindblowing. We were surprised when, during a post-birth home visit, Sue delivered a summary of events leading up to the birth of our son. Despite all of the chaos (more so in my panicked mind!) and many, long hours, Sue was keeping track of everything. Stuff we'd forgotten about but can now look back on with an "Oh, yeah!" heartfelt feeling. Things like that just mean so much - Sue does it all, even when you don't even know you needed it.
We took multiple pregnancy/birth classes and read up on anything and everything inbetween, which was great, but I'd trade it all in to have Sue the Doula in our corner.
10/10/2016
Sue was a wonderful doula. Her knowledge, experience, and expertise were vast, and she was indispensable to us before, during, and after the birth of our daughter. She's caring, smart, and very cool, and we can't imagine what we would've done without her. I can't recommend her highly enough.
9/30/2016
Sue is an incredible doula. She guided us through the birth of our first child with a balance of knowledge and enthusiasm and really listened to us and our goals. We felt safe with her in the labor room, she helped my husband help me have the baby smoothly and safely with confidence in the proces.
Sue's additional support prenatal and postpartum is also great, and her partnership and support is invaluable.
We recommend Sue very highly to anyone looking for a doula!
9/28/2016
Sue Chargo is amazing!
From our initial meeting through the birth of our son, her subject-matter expertise and her patience made her the perfect doula. Throughout our pregnancy, she was kind, compassionate, understanding, full of knowledge, empathetic, and available. She's a true professional.
We can't imagine anyone else to have brought on this journey with us. And we consider Sue part of our family!
Love,
EJ and Jen Tso

Sue was such a wonderful addition to our birth. This was my first baby, and my labor went EXTREMELY quickly. Sue was such a great calm energy to have with us there, and I know she was very reassuring to my husband. She insured that we were moved through triage as quickly as possible, and that the nurses and midwife were aware of our birth preferences. We didn't get to use a lot of the comfort measures we discussed beforehand, due to how quickly it all went, but she helped my husband soothe me with massage during contractions and created a very calm enviroment in the labor and delivery room by turning off the lights and lighting LED candles. Sue was also there to help support me afterwards during some painful repairs, while my husband held the baby. I don't think I could have gotten through them without her.
The meetings before the birth were a great way to get to know Sue and talk through important parts of our birth preference list, and to discuss any fears or questions about the birth. The meetings afterward were perfect for decompressing and processing our birth story. She has been a wonderful resource for any questions we have had during pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum and newborn stage! Overall she was incredibly warm, kind and such a wonderful presence. I hope she can attend my future births!
7/14/2016
Having Sue as a support person at my birth as more than I could have asked for. Meeting with her prior to the birth to create a plan helped put me and my husband at ease. Sue was available to answer my questions and provide resources during my pregnancy. Sue was a great support before heading to the hospital and at the hospital. My husband was impressed by the good relationship Sue had with the nurse and midwife at the hospital. During my labor Sue was there for anything we needed and was great at thinking ahead and being ready with what we might need next. Sue was a calming and positive presence during my labor and delivery. I enjoyed the postpartum visits. It was nice to have someone come to my home and answer my questions. It can be hard and stressful to get out and about with a newborn! I feel as though I can continue to reach out to Sue if I have any questions in the future. I would use Sue again in the future and would recommend her to anyone looking for the support of a doula. Sue seems to enjoy her work and seems passionate about the whole process from pregnancy to delivery to postpartum.
6/17/2016
We were so very fortunate to have Sue as our prenatal and postpartum doula! She provided amazing support, education and organization before, during and after birth! Whatever your plan is Sue will support you 100%! We were very impressed by how wonderful and professional she was with communication not only with my husband and I but with the hospital staff too. My husband and I initially had reservations about birthing at a hospital (we went to Methodist with the midwives) but Sue really put us at ease. She was at my side throughout labor providing positive and calming affirmations. She seemed to just know exactly what we needed! She was prepared with cool towels, snacks, flameless candles, etc to create the peaceful environment we desired. She even helped recite some Hypnobabies scripts when my husband needed a break. Our plan was to try for a vaginal birth with no drugs involved. When labor became very tough for me (during transition & pushing) Sue provided calm guidance to help get me (and my hubby!) through it. She made me feel empowered at a time when I thought I could take no more. I believe that encouragement helped me believe in myself and my body, and I cannot express my gratitude enough. The postpartum service she provided was great too--not only because we are new parents but we are transplants with no family in town. Just as with prenatal services she went above & beyond our expectations. I was able to get a shower in while she watched our little one and we took him out in the stroller for the first time for a walk on a beautiful day. We recommend Sue without reservations as a doula because she is so passionate and driven to help women & their families during such a special and transformative time in their lives.
6/14/2016
We hired Sue to be our childbirth doula for the birth of our first child born March 28, 2016. Sue helped us through a challenging last few weeks leading up to the delivery, and she was by our side throughout childbirth, and continues to be a support in the post partum period.
Choosing Sue as our Doula was the best decision that we ever made. Her loving and caring approach combined with her extensive knowledge of the childbirth experience made us feel so comfortable and at ease. We would highly recommend Sue to anyone that is looking for a Doula that will feel and eventually become like family.
5/23/2016
Sue was a great partner throughout the pregnancy and entire labor process. She met with us regularly leading up to the birth to help formulate a complete birth plan we were comfortable with. She was available as a resource for any questions, big or small, leading up to the birth.
It was great to have her upbeat attitude and calming presence during the delivery. She has also followed-up to check in on us after the birth to make sure everything is going well.
We highly recommend her!

As first time parents and knowing that we didn't have relatives living close to us, hiring Sue as our post-partum doula was one of the best decisions my husband and I made. We were anticipating that caring for a newborn was going to be challenging and and it was such a relief to have Sue. I was grateful for not only her help with the household tasks like laundry, but also simply holding the baby while I took a shower or slept. She genuinely cared for my well being and that of my son. Sue also gave me great guidance on the care of a newborn that gave me confidence to take care of my baby in the weeks ahead when I was on my own.
3/3/2016
I contacted Sue near the end of my third trimester to be a part of our baby's arrival and also to help us adjust at home with postpartum care. From helping create a birth plan during prenatal visits to hands-on education in giving our baby his first baths after we came home, her helpful guidance on many topics was a valuable form of support to both me and my husband.
Her calm encouragement got us through several hours of labor. After our baby showed signs of distress an unplanned c-section was necessary for his safe delivery and her supportive presence during the surgery prep was very helpful. Due to the circumstances, she wasn't able to be in the OR, but she stayed in contact with us and visited in the hospital after our son was born.
With my husband back at work, I looked forward to her postpartum visits - a friendly face to a tired new mom, Sue was willing to help in so many ways and offer encouragement and reassurance that we were on the right track. She understands what new parents need for support and guidance. Our son was always content after a visit from Sue.
Sue made herself readily available for questions and concerns by email, phone, and text with timely responses and frequent check-ins.
She has a passion for her role and the families she serves. Her caring, non-judgemental approach put us at ease in a new world for us, and I'm thankful she was a part of our birthing and postpartum experience.

I didn't opt for a doula for the birth of my first baby, and after using Sue with my second, my experience was completely different! I was able to have a natural birth with her continued support, encouragement and knowleldge. It can't say how much I valued her calming presence overall, but especially during the transition phase. My husband also was so thankful to have her there! We would definitely recomend her and would use her in the future!
1/15/2016
Sue was great. She gave us alot of helpful info and tips. She is very knowledgeable and used her skills to help make labor and delivery more comfortable. Sue gave me her one on one attention at the hospital during the delivery and I was so thankful to have her there. She really helped me stay calm and focused. I liked how she took pictures for us and also wrote up the details of the delivery and birth for us to remember. I really liked how she stayed for an hour after the delivery to make sure we got breast feeding established and answered any questions we had. Sue has been a Doula for many years and had alot of experience. I would recommend her to my close friends and family.
11/6/2015
I highly recommend Sue! This is my second birth and second time using a doula. Sue was warm, knowledgable, flexible, and she felt like an old friend as soon as we met her. I love that she has three older children which gave her a lot of perspective and personal experience. I never felt judged when my natural birth plans went out the window and I decided to use an epidural. She was always there with her "Mary Poppins" bag whenever I needed somethig during labor. I would recommend Sue to any of my friends and know that Sue and I will be in touch for many years to come!!
11/1/2015
After having a tough first pregnancy and delivery I decided to use a doula for my second. When my husband and I met with Sue to talk about her services and what we were hoping for we knew right then that she was a great fit for us! It was one of the best decisions we could have made hiring Sue! Not only was she there for my delivery but she was there for me during my entire pregnancy and postpartum recovery and would answer all of my crazy questions. She met with us a few times before delivery and a few times after to help me with a birth plan and answer any questions. She even still checks in with me months after my daughter was born. She was very easy to get a hold of any time day or night and was always reminding me I can call her for anything I need. She has such a wonderful, calming personality and is the nicest person I've ever met! She is very knowledgable and was always prepared. When my daughter was born Sue captured some of the first moments we had with her and I will cherish those photos forever!! Thank you Sue for everything!!

Sue was wonderful! My husband and I would highly recommend her. We ended up having a more complicated delivery and I am not sure how we would have done it without Sue. She was not only supportive to me but also to my husband. She was very knowledgeable and open minded. My husband and I really wanted to find someone that did not push their beliefs about the birth process on us. Sue was great and gave us information to make decisions that were best for us. I also really appreciated and found valuable her help after the baby was born with home visits. She helped with whatever I had questions about. She has also continued to keep in an touch and check up on Us periodically. She Is a wonderful person who loves what she does!
9/16/2015
Sue was fantastic! I would highly recommend her to any family looking for a Doula in the Minneapolis/Metro area! We were unsure originally on if we wanted to hire a doula, but upon interviewing 3 people we instantly knew she was a great match for my husband and I. She uses fact based data to explain things and answer questions, is always quick to respond (day or night), and is so caring! She goes above and beyond!
Sue met with us 2 times before the birth of our baby, was there for the delivery, and also came 2 times after we were home to check on us. She always answered all our questions and concerns throughout the entire process and helped us know what to expect. She continues to check in on us even 2 months later and wants us to know she is always a text or phone call away.
Sue remained calm and kept us calm the entire time, even through our 5 week early and super quick labor/delivery. She had all kinds of tools and "tricks" to help comfort me. We had even practiced and talked about them at our meeting before the birth so we were prepared. She helped set the tone in our room so we could be as comfortable as can be. She encouraged my husband and Mom while we were in the delivery room and knew exactly what we needed and wanted because she had taken the time to get to know us at our early meetings.
I would encourage all parents to hire a doula (especially Sue) and tell you it was one of the best decisions we made!!! You can tell instantly Sue loves her job and cares about her families she works with. She is so knowledgeable and caring!
Sue, thank you so much for being there for us through the most wonderful day of our lives!
5/16/2015
Sue Chargo was our doula for the birth of our second child. I would highly recommend Sue! Sue is a wealth of knowledge and provided comfort both prior to the birth and during labor. She met with me and my husband several times prior to the actual birth and really took the time to get to know my family. She also made sure to understand my birth wishes and did so without judgment or pressure. We practiced different touches and laboring positions so when we were in the throws of labor, she already knew what I wanted. Sue’s presence during my labor and the birth had a huge impact and played a huge role in allowing me to have a drug-free, natural childbirth. She worked hand-in-hand with the nurses and midwife and successfully communicated our birth plan so my husband could solely focus on me and I could focus on having a baby! Sue has also stayed in contact after our baby girl’s birth making sure both baby and mama are adjusting and healing well! We couldn’t have asked for a better birth experience or a better doula – we feel honored and lucky that we had Sue by our side!
