We had the pleasure of having Rossana as our Doula.  She is extremely knowledgeable and patiently answered our many many questions that we had for her.  She was so accommodating and even changed her vacation plans to accommodate our unforeseen scheduled c-section.  She met us in my room afterwards and helped with the first breastfeeding and post-op.  After we went home she came for a follow-up visit and was always available for further questions, and graciously provided resource links to assist us.  I would highly recommend Rossana.

Our experience with Rossana was awesome from the very beginning. She was quick to respond and happy to make herself available despite the short timeline (I was around 35 weeks when we first touched base). My husband was on the fence until we met Rossana. She had a calm, comforting energy and was very knowledgeable. As soon as she left he told me how comfortable be felt and we booked her right away. We met another two times before the birth. Although we were taking a Birth and Babies class, we loved the individual attention and care we received from Rossana and felt these sessions were invaluable. She was also very responsive in the weeks leading up to labor. When it came time, Rossana met us at the hospital when I was in active labor. She provided the calm supportive energy I needed, and my husband was able to pick up bits and pieces from her to support me. When I made the choice to get an epidural, she was able to help me feel that this was my decision and was fully supportive. I felt no judgement despite our discussions and my initial thoughts for a natural birth. Rossana was able to capture a few photos for us that we will always treasure, and made sure we were comfortable before she left us to enjoy some time as a new family. i also appreciated her willingness to respond post-birth and her visit to our home to check in when we were ready. I've recommended a doula to all of my pregnant friends and never hesitate to point them in Rossana's direction!

My wife and I were expecting twins and we wanted to make sure we had the support we needed in the labour and delivery room, so we decided to hire Rosanna Keay as our doula. She was fantastic. We had met her a couple of times ahead of our due date to review all of our labour options and she made us feel pretty comforatable.

When she arrived at the hospital on the big day, my wife had been early labouring for about 2 hours. Rosanna's postiitve impact was felt the second she walked into the room. Her demeaner is very calming and friendly and we felt as though a long time friend had walked in to make us more comforatble. After assessing the situation, she made some suggestions to my wife on ways she could be more comforatble, which made all the difference. She also coached me on how and when to give my wife counter-pressure, which was huge for my wife. She also had the perfect music to keep my wife calm and mellow. My wife was so thankful that Rosanna was with us - 4 months later, she still talks about it.

For me as dad, having Rosanna in the room meant that I could take a break and feel confident that my wife was in good hands - my wife was literally squeezing Rosanna's hands as hard as she could at times - no problem! When the babies arrived, things got hectic quickly and Rosanna was there to snap a few amazing pictures and she was also able to stay with my wife while I followed the little guys into the NICU. That was a hard moment because I didn't want to leave my wife, but I knew she was in great hands.

I honestly couldn't imagine our experience without Rosanna and believe that hiring her was the best labour and delivery decision we could have made. I would recommend her to anyone.

I am absolutely thrilled that Rossana was a part of my birth team that brought my twin boys into the world. I could not imagine the process without her and I'm so thankful she was there for both my husband and I. She is encouraging, supportive and helped me to feel empowered.

Her advice throughout my pregnancy was so useful and I've often passed her positive words and perspectives onto friends who are now pregnant. It was so nice to be able to have someone that was a quick email or text away that could point me to resources that were reputable - avoiding random google searches during pregnancy is a must!

I honestly wouldn't do anything differently when it came to my birth plan, preparing, and labouring ... and I really do believe having Rossana as a part of that process is one of the main reasons I look back so positively on the experience as a whole.

Rossana was our doula for my first pregnancy and delivery. It was important to me that our doula be someone who was totally supportive and not judgmental or pushy with her own opinions. Rossana was just that person. She is extremely knowledgable and helped my husband and I understand the pros and cons of various options that might be made available to us during labour and delivery. When the time came, with the information she had given us, we were able to make educated decisions about what was best for our family in the circumstances and not feel guilty that we weren't able to follow our birth preferences. We made every decision ourselves and Rossana supported each one, which reassured me that I was doing what was best for me and my baby in the moment, even went that meant I couldn't avoid certain interventions I'd hope to.

When we hit a bit of an emotional speed bump during labour Rossana talked me through what was upsetting me and how we could best addresss the issue and move forward. She provided a constant, calming presence during labour and was a great cheerleader during delivery. She recommended various coping mechanisms to assist with labour pain which my husband especially appreciated because he felt better able to assist me with labour. Of course Rossana also afforded my husband some time to rest during my long labour since he didn't ever have to worry about leaving me alone or with out a support person.

Rossana is a very compassionate and caring individual who clearly loves being a doula and assisting parents with childbirths. She was a fantastic doula for us and we were very glad to have engaged her services. Having her by our side as an experienced support person gave us the extra confidence and reassurance to have the most positive labour and delivery experience that we could and to adjust and accept the bumps in the road when things inevitably did not go as "planned".

Thank you very much Rossana!

Rossana was a huge support for my husband Chris and I throughout my pregnancy, birth and after our daughter was born. She educated us on things we never thought about and challenged us to be open and accept change as needed through the birthing proces, which as it turned out was very valuable in our abrupt situation. Having Rossana with Chris and  I gave me a level of comfort that allowed me to remain calm when anxiety could have easily taken over.  Rossana was a key part of our experience bringing our precious daughter into this world and we wouldn't have it any other way. We were very happy we chose Rossana as our doula and if we have another baby we will be asking her to be our doula again.

My wife and I hired Rossana to help us with the birth of our first child, due in July 2016.  At first, I was uncertain of spending money on a doula, but my wife insisted that she would be able to help both of us during the delivery.  During our initial meeting with Rossana we were extremely impressed with her knowledge, demeanor, and how she provides her services. My wife and I immediately felt very comfortable with Rossana.

In the weeks leading up to our due date, we had two meetings with Rossana, in which she provided us a lot of very valuable information and helped prepare us for the upcoming delivery.  She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer many of the questions we had, including some information that we hadn't learned in our prenatal classes or from the reading we had done.  Rossana never tried to push us in any direction or influence our decisions in any way, but always emphasized that her role was to educate and empower us to make informed decisions and to support us.

Rossana was available and provided support by phone and text in the days leading up to the delivery, and emailed us valuable information.  We had a very long and difficult labour, and Rossana came as soon as we needed her, and she made an immediate impact in making my wife more comfortable.  With Rossana there I was able to take breaks and get some sleep so that I could continue to help and not be overwhelmed during the labour.  My wife and I both had the utmost trust in her, and at all times she was calm, patient, soothing, and tireless.  She worked very well with the hospital staff and was able to be supportive without being intrusive.  I can't imagine making it through the labour without Rossana's help.

I absolutely recommend Rossana to everyone.  I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for our family and the birth of our baby girl.

Where do I even begin? Rossana (R) was such a key part in my pregnancy, labour, and delivery.

Knowledge: R came to visit several times during my pregnancy and offered tons of information. I was not unfamiliar with the birthing process - I have a nursing degree and spent time on the OBS/GYN ward but R taught me more about labour in her 1st visit than I learned in 4 years of nursing school.

Patience: R is very patient and welcomed all of my questions.

Comfort: As my pregnancy progressed, I grew anxious about what was going to be happening with my body and whether I was going to be able to tolerate it. The thought of all the pain made me panick. R helped to ease my anxiety.

Prepare: After arming me with information, she assisted in forming a "birth plan" - which wasn't so much a plan as it was a prioritization (babies and bodies dont always act as we want them to). This exercise helped prepare me for certain situations.

Liberal: Most importantly I value R's non judgemental approach. Whether I chose to accept every medical intervention under the sun or whether I decided to push through and refuse them, I needed a support person to support me through whatever was happening. She has many tips and techniques for easing the pain and helping you manage but if you opt for meds, she does not judge. Her ultimate goal is to give you the birth experience you want.

I was initially skeptical about hiring a Doula but I am so glad I did. R was amazing. She kept me focused and helped me push through when I wanted to give up. I could not have asked for a better support person. And as an added bonus, she captured the birth in photos and kept a timeline so I can now look back and treasure my experience.

If you are pregnant or planning to be soon, I highly recommend Rossana's services. She is even better than having your mother there!

Rossana was our doula during our daughter’s birth.
She has been an incredible help right from the beginning when we met her.
She is the kind of person who has such a comforting presence and a giving personality, that once you meet her it is hard to forget her. Not only is she very supportive and comforting, but very knowledgeable as well. She came to our home and walked us through the entire process so we were prepared for every possibility or complication which might occur during the birth.

I could not imagine our daughter; Abigail’s birth without her, as she conducted me through the entire process as a professional. She was kind and constantly assisting the birth with endless positivity, motivation, supportive energy and priceless advices to make the whole experience unforgettable and ease my pain as best as possible. The birth procedure was quite long, 12 hours and she was there through the whole time, she has assisted me the way I could not imagine anyone else could.

I was able to rely on her entirely, as she has always been there for me and when my husband needed a break she kept me going with her encouraging words, massages and all her special tools and of course with her incredibly comforting presence.

I would highly advise her to anyone who is looking for a special doula that is extremely knowledgeable, has the perfect personality for assisting your birth and help to make the birth as memorable as possible.
I am very grateful that Rossana was our doula; she is an amazing professional of her job and extremely supportive person. There is no doubt, if we are going to have another baby, we will ask for her assistance again.

I instantly had a great connection with Rossana when I first met her.
She is passionate and enthusiastic about being a doula and it shows in her voice and through her work. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for someone with great knowledge in this field. She went above and beyond and offered me class A support. I definitely want her as my doula again for my next pregnancy!

With love,

We decided to ask her because she responded very quickly when inquired, and received very good impression when we saw her in person. We are glad we made the decision! Rossana was great!

One of the best things we liked about her was that she educated us very well at our meeting. Since this was our first baby and I was born and raised outside of Canada, I was not familiar with anything about how things goes and what are the choices/risks. Rossana patiently explained us so we knew all of the necessary knowledge and guided us so we knew possilibilities and priorities upon labour and delivery.

She did thourough follow up after our meeting by email whenever I have any concerns with helpful information and links and that helped me a lot.

She encouraged me throughout the labour and delivery and gave me good massage. Another thing I liked was that she guided my husband so he can support me with massage, positioning etc.

I remember she held my leg when nurses continued to ask my husband to do so yet I didn't let him go as I needed him to hold my hand (and squeeze very hard of course lol!)

We've been taking time for her post-birth visit but are looking forward to seeing her with our little one very soon!!! Thank you Rossana for everything! You did make our birth experience an awesome one^-^/.

Upon finding out we would be induced early due to pre-eclampsia, we found Rossana on very short notice to act as our Doula.  Although somewhat untraditional with no prior relationship, beginning with our initial conversation, it was apparent that Rossana was very knowledgable, extremely compassionate and would go above and beyond to act as our Doula although we approached her so late in the game.  During my labour she was very professional and caring, provided very valuable suggestions to my husband on how to best support me, and also myself to find the most releif through my intense back labour, and she made us both feel more at ease through the process.  My Husband especially appreciated her support and together they worked very well together!

After the delivery Rossana and I kept in contact and she provided much more and professional support in my immediate post-partum stage which i was so thankful for!  We met with Rossana again about 2 weeks after my delivery to hat about how everything went, and I felt so comfortable with her - we definitely made the right choice in hiring her!

My Hisband and I would both recommend Rossana as a Doula and found the entire experience a positive one!!

It's very difficult to explain my appreciation of Rossana in words.

Before I met her I was not sure how a doula could help me in coping with labour and the birthing experience.

But during our first consultation, I knew I wanted Rossana with me during labour. Something about Rosanna's calm and positive nature made me feel safe and calm.

Initially I was so scared of labour pain, that the idea of giving birth terrified me! However this passed after our initial conversations with Rosanna as, she made me feel confident and for the first time I felt that I could do it.

During our meetings we discussed my birth plan and she was very patient and educated in explaining the various options available to me.

Both my husband and I felt very happy after each meeting with Rosanna as each interaction made us feel more and more prepared for the big day.

When the day came, nothing went according to plan, which let me down, however Rosanna was there every step of the way giving me the confidence and tools in dealing with the experience and pain. My husband was also very grateful as Rosanna's presence gave him the confidence to leave the room every now and then for a much needed break.

The total duration of my labour and delivery was 20 hours. That can really take it is toll on a support person, but Rosanna didn't lose her smile for even 1 second!

I will highly recommend her to anyone! The help is priceless and the support she gives is everything that you need :)

Rossana is an amazing doula! I felt very comfortable with Rossana from the first time we met. She's very sweet and motherly.  Her presence during the birth of my son was a great help.  Dominick was born at Rockyview General Hospital through ceasarian section delivery. She helped explain and suggest  to me the best choice type of incision  would be the fastest to have done and to healed. She was also so supportive  after I had the baby. She gave great advice about dealing with the emotional swings of postpartum. She was there when I needed a quick rest, and looked after my baby. I cannot say thank you enough to Rossana for being such a great support  through my pregnancy.  She is awesome and I recommend her highly.
