Maida was great from the get go.  When we met Maida, it made sense that we may actually need her.  She was very clear and my husband and I were very at ease. We were late in asking her for help, and she made everything work out so that the process would still be manageable. When we chatted about the birthing plan, she made sure that we followed through. My baby was late and when I almost went along with what was suggested by the nurse and doctors, Maida reminded me that that was not what I wanted. I am so glad that we followed through with our original birth plan. Maida was able to reassure me, calm me down, and just make things run smoothly. She was able to answer any interesting questions either by calling or texting  help process. The main thing was that she reminded us that she was there as a support person and that she if she didn't know the answer, she would do the best to help us out.  When it came time for me contractions to arrive, she helped make sure that I relax and go through without thinking too much. She was able to give us stretches, movements and other ways to work with our baby. Maida was always calm and collected which made everything run smoothly. Thankfully we were able to have her at the hospital, and she worked really well with the nurses and doctors. For the counting, she was right there and kept everything steady, which is what I needed. After the delivery, she stayed for a bit to make sure that we were ok. Maida came over to visit us 2 to 3 weeks after the delivery and was able to make sure that we were OK and answer any follow-up questions. I wasn't so successful with the baby wrap, so she was able to help me out in person and even sent out extra links to help me out. Maida was genuine, informative, calm, and I'm very important support person in our birth of our son. We are very grateful to have had Maida's help for this very important time of our life.

The story about Maida helping my second baby born reminded me what i have been through on that day, with her help, i recovered so well, i went everywhere with my four years old, and still kept good supple of breastfeeding milk for my new born.

She has been my great support.

We hired Maida from friends referral. She was exceptional in her services. She made us feel at ease even when things were not going as planned. She's very knowledgeable and offers a lot of resources and support along the way. 

We'd would recommend her and would definitely use her services if we decided to have another baby.

We were so grateful to have had Maida with us during the birth of our son Adam. Not only did she look after me, she cared for my husband too. We often forget that the birthing experience can tough on the dad as well. Just having an additional person present helped us get through the long and arduous night of our son's birth.  She helped me endure some pretty intense contractions through massage and giving me tips on relaxation.  She has a soothing presence that helped both me and my husband and stay calm as we could throughout the night until Adam was born at 3:40am.  We highly recommend Maida as a doula for anyone who needs that extra love and caring spirit during their birthing experience!

Maida was such an important part of our birth story.  Our experience would not have been the same without her.  She worked tirelessly during my labour, applying counter pressure or rubbing my back for almost every contraction, or helping to support and assist when pushing in different positions.  She made sure I was at least having sips of my smoothie (no appetite) or would just keep me company when I was resting in the tub.  I found her presence to be calming and confident, and I always felt more at ease with her around.  She also wrote out our birth timeline, taking notes from the time she arrived until the time she left, and provided it to us at the end.  It was SUCH a nice and thoughtful keepsake to have.  She also took some pictures during the birth (with permission) and I'm so glad to have those memories to look back on.  We never even thought of having a doula and had met with a few before deciding on Maida - and I am so glad we did.  I can't say enough good things about her and I would recommend her as a doula a thousand times over.  Thank you for everything, Maida!

We are so happy to have had Maida as our doula for the birth of our son.

We decided to use a doula and knew that Maida was a perfect fit and had made the right choice.

In the weeks before our son was born we were able to establish a very comfortable relationship, which is so very important in the intimate setting of labour and delivery. Maida visited us in our home before the birth of our son to go through our birth wishes and discuss and show us some techniques to help during labour. She is well versed in all things regarding labour and delivery and was able to answer all of our questions.

Maida made herself accessible at all times before, during, and after the birth and was an unimaginable help during labour. We do not know how myself, or my husband would managed a natural labour without her encouragement and physical support, but also knowing when to step back when we needed time alone.

About two weeks after our son was born, Maida came by with some wonderful pictures and a chronological recount of the events. She gave postpartum support during the visit and again was able to answer any questions we had.

I feel extremely blessed to have had Maida support us during the birth of our son. We would highly recommend her services!

From the early morning when I called Maida she was a superstar. Maida was with my partner and I in the early morning hrs before any other professionals were at home with us. By having Maida at the house so early it allowed me to focus my energy on my partner and not worrying about timing contractions or fearing we were doing something wrong. Maida help guide us through the entire process of when it was time to call the Midwife as well as help with relaxation techniques and positive confirmation on that the changes occuring were normal. Maida was always there for my partner and I from massage, ensuring I had breaks during the labor and just all around being a rock to lean on. Maida fulfilled her duties above and beyond as a Doula for us that special day. I would highly recommend Maida Ford to anyone in search of a Doula and she made our special day even a little bit better :).

When my wife told me she wanted to use a a doula to assist in our first childbirth. I replied “Who’s Adula.” Maida came to our house for a meet and greet, and to go through our birth plan. I was quite happy to have some one there assisting my wife since I do not do well in a hospital setting. My wife’s delivery went according to plan for an induced labour until my daughter got stuck, turned blue, lost her heartbeat and the room went from 5 people to 30 doctors working on my daughter. Maida was great during this time helping me and my wife stay calm. When my daughter was taken to the NICU Madia stayed with my wife while she was being stitched so I could be with our daughter. 10 months later we called upon Maida again knowing we were now pregnant with our son. Our son came 6 weeks early and Maida was quick to answer the phone, asked what we needed, and even went to our house to pick up some movies. When our son went to the NICU for being a preemie she again stayed with my wife so I could be with our son. Both our kids are healthy and happy and Maida was a big part of their first day in this world.

Maida was our first choice to be our doula for the home birth of our second child.  She is confident and very assuring.  She was also professional and organized.  My husband and I felt more at ease with her gentle guidance and tips.  From our initial meeting to our postpartum visit, Maida was always had her confident and professional  demeanour.  I couldn't  have asked for a more perfect fit plus I wanted a doula who was a mom already and she was great with my toddler and dog too!

Maida is such an asset to the doula community  and we are so blessed to have had her at our birth & for the wonderful memories you captured for us!
