Kelly was absolutely amazing.  Anyone who winds up with Kelly as their doula will be extraordinarily happy with their choice.

She brings a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience that takes all of the guesswork out of the birthing process.  Regardless of situation or circumstance, Kelly consistently brought multiple solutions to the table. Kelly never made a decision for us.  However, her patience, confidence, and shrewd knowledge allowed us to bounce ideas off her. We inevitably arrive at solutions tailored to our family that were uncannily accurate and helpful.  Kelly creates an environment that eases communication about all aspects of pregnancy, allowing us to fully examine even the most uncomfortable aspects of pregnancy with dignity and professionalism.

Kelly's presence can best be described as calming.  Her deep knowledge of yoga helped us find stretches and positions to relieve late-term pregnancy strain.  Those positions formed the basis of pain management throughout the labor and birthing process.  She consistently advocated on behalf of mother and child, ensuring we were appraised of all options and prepared for the next steps.   When flustered or overwhelmed Kelly was an extra hand, tirelessly seeking to bring comfort wherever possible.

Kelly is undeniably professional.  She is also approachable, friendly, and easy to talk to and communicate with.  Her ability to put us at ease in a stressful situation was remarkable.  She brings the value of a trusted friend offering sage advice.  I cannot more strongly recommend Kelly.  Whatever your intentions are of a doula, I can confidently say she will exceed your expectations. We were unbelievably fortunate to have Kelly with us and I hope many more families will benefit from Kelly's considerable skills.

You cannot go wrong with Kelly.

I met with Kelly after researching and interviewing many different doulas.  I immediately felt as if she was a life long friend.  I didn’t realize how much I would need her support.  She’s very knowledgeable, calm and professional.  Whenever I emailed or texted her questions, she never hesitated to pick up the phone and talk with me.  That meant a lot because everyone’s lives are busy and she would sit and talk for over an hour.  Women tend to tell you only the horrors of child birth.  She told me many times that their stories were not mine.  She was right.  I had a wonderful experience. I was able to follow my plan and I truly contribute that to her help and guidance.

Kelly was recommended to us by a family member. We met with Kelly for about an hour intro session where she explained the services she could offer, and the approximate timeline for meetings and sessions that would coincide with certain stages of the pregnancy. As a husband with no first hand knowledge it was awesome that Kelly's knowledge and advice matched up with the information we were receiving from other reputable sources, but she offered so much more.

We were being induced, so the lead up to active labor was long and drawn out, but when we asked Kelly to join us she was there within a few minutes, and stayed with us throughout the end of the delivery, which was over 36 hours. She played a critical role in supporting our decisions and providing helpful advice and suggestions on how to move things along, and how to make sure Meg was rested enough her big push many hours later. She was right there as per our request throughout the whole delivery taking excellent photos, being a much needed extra set of hands and nurturing source of encouragement and support. She was our consistent advocate through a rollercoaster of good and bad nursing and doctor staff over multiple shift changes. She helped us to ask the right questions to understand all options available and was a sounding board to make sure we were making the right decisions for us and the safety of Meg and the Baby.

We cannot understate the value of Kelly leading up to and during and after the labor and delivery, we wouldn't have wanted to do it without her. It's one thing to take a few classes to prepare yourself for this big day, it's quite another to have a private tutor who can actually accompany you and help guide you through the big test!

I would suggest her Doula services to any first time or repeat parents!

My husband and I were so lucky to have Kelly support us through the birth of our first daughter!

Hiring a doula had not crossed my mind until I attended a labor and delivery class, and when I met Kelly, I had limited knowledge of the role of one plays during birth. Kelly immediately made me feel very comfortable with how we would work together and how she could best support us through labor. For me, the most important criteria in working with a doula is a personality fit. Kelly is very caring and a great listener with a warm and calm demeanor. I found her to be an excellent resource throughout the last few weeks of my pregnancy and postpartum. I was impressed with how available she was to answer all my questions and help alleviate any anxiety I had about giving birth, as well as, with fourth trimester issues. I was also confident she would be a great reassurance to my husband throughout the birth.

My labor accelerated very quickly, so Kelly met us at the hospital rather than laboring at home. Unfortunately, the hospital would not let her be with us while I was in triage and I ended up being decently far along by the time I was finally admitted. I was pretty worked up by that point (due to the nurses in triage not realizing I was in active labor) and was so grateful for Kelly’s calming presence. I truly feel as though Kelly, my husband and I were a team and am extremely grateful for her coaching and positive attitude throughout and after labor. This was such a special day for our family and I am so thankful to Kelly being a part of it.

My husband and I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Kelly. She is kind, caring, an amazing listener, and made my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience feel calm and manageable. As a first time mom, I so appreciated how available Kelly was (and still is!) to answer all my questions and thoughtfully talk through my concerns. When I started to have a few complications towards the end of my pregnancy, Kelly was available whenever I needed her and helped me work through some big decisions with sound advice and constant support.

While my labor and delivery didn't quite go the way I anticipated it would, I feel so good about the whole experience, and I attribute that to Kelly. She supported both me and my husband throughout a long labor and delivery, and her positive attitude never wavered, even for a moment. She was so supportive and affirmational and when I look back on my labor I can see and hear Kelly with me every step of the way!

Kelly went above and beyond to support me postpartum as well. She answered in the phone in the middle of the night when I was struggling with breastfeeding, and offered to come visit to help support as well. She has kept in touch, reaching out to check in frequently. From pregnancy, to labor and delivery, to those fragile first months postpartum, Kelly has been there, and I can't imagine going through this experience without her!

We love Kelly! Our family is so grateful for Kelly! Kelly was always available to me via phone or text and would come over if I needed her. She was an excellent resource and support to my husband! She helped be the bridge that allowed him to support me better during my labor and delivery. Kelly is kind, she is understanding and honest. She was so open to my ideas and sometimes even crazy requests. She gave us advice that was supportive in a way that was caring but direct. Having Kelly at the delivery of my son was truly a blessing and it made our experience so calm and I felt safe and nurtured with her by our side! She was there for me, my husband, and my baby boy. We love Kelly, she will always hold a special place in our family as she was there at the exact moment we became a family.

Kelly Chamberlin is an amazing doula and I highly recommend her services. I had an amazing first time birth experience and I attribute that, in large part, to Kelly. Kelly has a soothing and warm presence. She is an excellent listener and was supportive of my hopes/goals without overstepping or judging how I wanted to do things.

I didn’t know much about the role of the doula when I hired Kelly for my first pregnancy and birth but Kelly explained everything so me and my husband both knew what to expect at every step. Knowing Kelly was there for me alleviated a tremendous amount of anxiety and fear that I experienced during pregnancy. She arrived on time to all of our pre-birth appointments, always organized and professional. Kelly is also a prenatal yoga instructor and showed me and my husband easy exercises that helped a lot.

When I went into labor at 3:30am, Kelly was immediately responsive and ready to go. She stayed with me every moment of my labor. While hospital staff was changing shifts and caring for multiple patients, Kelly was focused only on me. Things got tense at the end of the delivery but Kelly helped me stay calm and focused, thereby helping to avoid an emergency situation. Kelly stayed at the hospital with me until after I was all settled into the recovery room. In the following weeks Kelly was an incredible resource with breastfeeding and connecting me to local new mom support groups.

I feel incredibly lucky that Kelly was part of my birth experience. She will always hold a very special place in my heart and in my family.

Kelly was our doula for our first child and we met at a hypnobirthing class. Because of this, Kelly knew the type of birth we were planning for (all natural hypnobirthing) and was extremely helpful in reminding us of techniques when preparing for labor and when we were at the hospital. Before birth, Kelly was quick to answer any questions I had and was available to talk after some of my doctor appointments made me feel like I wouldn't be able to have the birth experience I wanted. She reminded me that I was in control. When I went into labor at 2:00 in the morning, Kelly was quick to respond to my texts, called and gave suggestions for timing contractions, and came over when contractions got closer. When it was time to go to the hospital, Kelly drove my husband and I to BWH since my husband doesn't drive. At the hospital, Kelly was amazing and by my side with anything I needed. We had a long labor and by 9:30 pm, I was exhausted. My doctor recommended an epidural so I could sleep, and Kelly discussed this with me to help me weigh the pros and cons. I did end up getting the epidural and was so glad with my choice and that Kelly did always respected my choices when they changed from the plan. At 2:30 the next morning, it was finally time to push and Kelly was again by my side coaching me along. Unfortunately, after 2 1/2 hours of pushing, my doctor and I made the decision to have a c-section and Cadence was born at 6:09 am. Kelly then stayed after my surgery while I recovered and I was impressed that she had lasted with me every step of the way! I am so grateful to have had Kelly's experience and knowledge for the birth of our first child and highly recommend her for anyone looking for that extra support for the biggest day of her life!

I hired Kelly fairly late in my pregnancy (week 36) but she was absolutely a key part of my successful labor/delivery. This was my second pregnancy and I was concerned that I would have another long labor and delivery. My first labor/delivery was a 39 hour experience. I was also feeling very tired and achy throughout most of my third trimester.

Kelly was amazing - so friendly and calm and knowledgeable. She taught me and my husband several different stretches and techniques for both pain management and helping to move the baby into an optimal position. They worked so well! She also provides clients with a one hour hands-on "class" where she guided me through breathing and stretching techniques. After that hour and by doing the daily stretches, I had a burst of energy for the last few weeks of my pregnancy.

My labor/delivery experience ended up being very short - less than 7 hours. I labored on my own at home for about two to three hours before meeting Kelly at the hospital. I did use a few of the techniques she gave me for pain management but when I arrived at the hospital I was already 7cm dliated! Kelly was still very helpful and supportive even though I delivered my daughter less than two hours later. She also stayed with me and my husband for a few hours as we waited for a room. She asked lots of questions for us and documented some important facts about the labor. She also took a few great pictures of us during and after the delivery.

I would highliy recommend Kelly to anyone!
