Bridgetown Baby is the best! This lovely tribe of ladies are the biggest gift you can give yourself and your family. I was a total noob when it came to babies: didn't know how to change a diaper, didn't know how to swaddle or even hold a baby.  The BB tribe taught me sooo much.  When I had breastfeeding challenges they swooped in to the rescue.  Highly recommend these fairy godmothers, they are all the sweetest, selfless people you will meet.

The Bridgetown doulas were an invaluable support during the early months with our new baby. They make small miracles happen with each visit! During any given overnight stay, our doula somehow managed to cook up several meals for us to savor through the week, fold our laundry, wash our dishes, answer breastfeeding and baby care questions, and most importantly, help us get much needed rest by caring sweetly for our babe.

We worked with several of the Bridgetown gals and it felt so easy to put our trust in these amazing women who approach their work with warmth, compassion, and a whole lot of wisdom. They helped us feel calm and confident (not to mention much more rested!) as we embarked on our journey into parenthood. For these reasons and many more, their support was a true gift.

Pro tip: add doula hours to your registry! They are way more valuable than any piece of baby gear you’ll receive.

When our family found out we were having triplets, we were so excited and so determined to find a way to best provide the love and support three new beings deserve while also living up our 3 year old daughter.  We reached out to many doulas and agencies in the Portland area.  We were immediately impressed with Bridgetown. Merriah sent two doulas to meet with us- Camilla and Krystal.  Both were knowledgeable and kind, and put our family at ease.  Camilla has experience working with triplets, and Krystal has twins.  They understood and reflectively listened to my hopes and fears for our family.  They took the time to draw up a comprehensive plan that worked for our family, and considered aspects of care I hadn't thought of.  The network made available to us via Bridgetown was helpful as well. We met other parents, and were even gifted a pile of baby gear from a twin family we met.  We worked with a few awesome people, including Sacha who handled my exuberant yet vulnerable/adjusting daughter masterfully while making herself massively useful with our trio.  My daughter adored her and her multi tasking skills allowed my husband and I to have an actual conversation. lol.  We were lucky enough to work with Katie a number of times, including overnight -which was something I was nervous about. She aced it, managing to care for our babes in the living room of our little condo while my husband and I got some sleep at the same time.  We woke up to vegetable soup and homemade applesauce muffins.  She  was competent, professional, and a really kind and effective communicator.  For so many additional reasons, this triplet mama doesn't have time to type, I recommend reaching out to Bridgetown Baby. They stood out, showed up, and supported us.

I wish I could give this wonderful service 5,000 stars. From helping to diagnose a severe tongue tie in my second little girl (which my husband and I missed in the first... leading to major nursing issues) to occupying my toddler so I could make phone calls or take a shower, Merriah’s help was truly invaluable to my postpartum experience. She’s warm, innovative, professional, and a pleasure to talk to—a real blessing during those sleepless, confusing, crazy first few weeks. Even if you have wonderful, involved family and friends nearby, there's something... just plain easier about having someone around who's sole purpose is to take care of YOUR needs, be that holding/caring for your baby while you take care of the rest of your life (or sleep at 3am!), or educating and supporting you in becoming a mama - or mama x 2, 3, 4, etc. And what a wonderful gift it would make for new parents who don't have a big local support system. Just DO it!

I could not have dreamed of a more perfect doula for our new family than Merriah, nor could I have imagined that a person would be as influential, important, and feel like family in such short order.  Merriah supported us during the first three months of our baby's life.  She moved seamlessly into that sacred time, caring for all of us, reading exactly what we each neeeded.  She brought knowledge, experience, levity, and ease to our family.  And most importanly, she helped us feel confident in our own intuition as parents and ready for the adventures ahead.  I am so grateful for our time together and wish I could gift her to all growing families.
