Beth was one of a few doulas we interviewed when we had decided to hire a one for the birth of our son. She was the obvious choice for us. We wanted someone who wasn’t afraid to stand up for us or our baby when it came to last minute decisions in the delivery room.

I had originally planned a drug free natural birth, but unfortunately that didn’t go as planned and I ended up having a c section. Beth was still a phenomenal support for not only myself, but my husband through that whole process. I had to have general anesthesia so my husband wasn’t able to be in the OR with me during the birth, but Beth was by his side the whole time. She was there with him after birth while I was still in recovery to help ease his nerves as a first time dad and a worried husband.

When I came back to my room after getting out of recovery she was there to help me with nursing my son and any other needs I had. She also had a follow up home visit and gave us some valuable information about my baby’s lip tie and massage for gas/constipation.

I will be hiring her again for my next baby regardless of my birth being another c section or a vbac, the help she offered us was invaluable and I couldn’t thank her enough for the support she showed us through my son’s crazy entrance into this world.

When my wife first came to me and brought the idea of a doula during our son's birth, I was a little skeptical at first because I didn't know why we would need another person in the delivery room. But I agreed to meet with Beth who my wife found online. After meeting with Beth and discussing the skills and knowledge that she could provide during labor, I reconsidered my initial belief and agreed to have her present during the labor and birth. Looking back I can tell it was one of the best decisions we've made because Beth was so helpful throughout the entire process, especially when it came to her medical knowledge, her techniques to help relax my wife, and her constant support of both my wife and I.

Thank you Beth for making our first childbirth experience the best that it could be!

I chose Beth as my doula for the birth of my first child and am so glad I did! I couldn't imagine going through that labor without her... It was a long one and she was with us through the entire process. I can't say how much I appreciated having a second support person in the room... especially one that has attended many births. Her knowledge was SO beneficial. This made us feel at peace when nurses and doctors were coming in and out.

She helped me create a birth plan and prepared me long before labor started. I didn't know I was as capable and strong as I became during labor, and that wouldn't have happened without her and my husband coaching me. Beth was also great with my husband, standing in the background when he was handling things fine and then also helping him to better attend to me if he had questions or didn't know what to do.

Overall the birth was a wonderful experience. We had a healthy 7lb 4oz baby boy! I'm thankful that I decided to have a doula and even more thankful that I found Beth!!

Being a single mom I was very scared thinking of being alone for my baby's birth. Having Beth there was the best decision I made. She provided me with endless support the entire time. She was very calming and encouraging, especially in those moments where I started to doubt myself. She made herself available to me my entire pregnancy-answering any questions I had, fears I was having, or really anything at all. I would recommend Beth to any one in search of a doula, she was absolutely wonderful.

When planning a homebirth for our second child, we knew we would need a doula, someone who could “hold space” for both of us during our adventure. Upon meeting with Beth for the first time, I was struck by her calm presence and sincere passion for helping others. Her birth story was an inspiration. Her sense of humor was in tune with ours. I felt as if I’d known her for years. Prenatal and postpartum appointments were laid back. Throughout my pregnancy and postpartum, Beth never pushed any of her opinions or unwanted advice on me, nor did she judge me for any of my choices or opinions. When I went into labor, she was instantly available. When she walked in the door I remember thinking, “Holy crap, I need her!” and a calm settled over me. She immediately came to my aid. Her gentle words settled my fears. Her being there was soothing to my husband. After I climbed into the birthing pool, she knew just how to keep me calm and focused as I melted into her with each contraction. Her techniques for helping me breathe appeared to be effortless. She gave me the confidence to birth my baby. Her prenatal massage was phenomenal and so appreciated by my 9-month pregnant body. Postpartum massage was even better, allowing me to enjoy an hour of tranquility, all while nursing my newborn at my side. I hope that what I’ve managed to type comes close to summing up my 10 out of 10 feeling for Beth. I am so grateful to have found her and cannot imagine having gone through labor and birth without her by my side for support.

Beth was the back up doula for my initial doula whose kids got chickenpox. I was scheduled to meet Beth a couple weeks before my due date. My daughter had different plans.  The day before I was supposed to meet Beth my water broke.  I called Beth and she was a bit surprised but she told me to keep her updated.  About 4:30 AM the morning I was supposed to meet her at 11 AM I called her and told her we were headed to the hospital. We got to the hospital about the same time I just got to my room when she got there.  Even though we had never actually met before Beth jumped right in and started helping me.  There were no issues not having met before she just jumped right in and started helping me through contractions. It was amazing.  She was aware of my birth plan from my initial doula. She was calm and confident and able to help to the entire labor. Her background as a massage therapist was absolutely wonderful during labor especially due to most of my labor being in my back.  She worked wonderfully with my husband and my midwife. It was a great experience especially for never having met her before and I sometimes have issues trusting people. I was able to get through labor with no epidural or significant interventions.  I credit having Doula support from Beth as a major factor in the success of my labor and delivery. I am grateful that Beth was able to be there for me and my husband during the labor and delivery and would 100% use her again if we have another child.

As I neared my due date, I debated for a long time if I wanted a doula or not. I thought it would be uncomfortable having a stranger in the room experiencing such a personal event with me and my husband. I thought it would stress me out more than help. But, after a lot of encouragement from some family members,  I decided I would at least do a few interviews to see if I could find someone I would be comfortable with. Beth was our first and only interview. We knew immediately that her calm but engaging personality would compliment ours, and we were right. We met with Beth several times before going into labor, and she was always available to answer my questions and suggest resources for educating myself on the topic of natural childbirth. When I went into labor, not only was I comfortable having Beth join us, I was anxious to have her there! Having her there gave me a sense of calm, and my husband has said several times how helpful she was in helping him figure out how to be as supportive of me as possible. She was the perfect amount of engaged in the process without being overbearing. She was an advocate for our wishes and yet instinctually knew when we needed a little encouragement or guidance. Having Beth there wasn't at all like having a stranger in the room. She was a necessary support person for me that kept me and my husband anchored and calm. We didn't just get a doula when we hired Beth, we gained a friend! I had the most perfect natural birth, the birth that I dreamed of, and I know that I owe a lot of that to Beth. Also, as an added bonus, it turns out she is a great photographer and got some really good photos of the delivery process! I highly recommend Beth to anyone looking for a doula.

Beth was helpful through every step of my pregnancy, beginning to end, and even postpartum. She made herself available every moment of the day, despite her busy schedule with work and her own child. Beth's calm nature kept me at ease, even when I was panicking during labor. She answered all of my questions and served as a middleman between me and the hospital staff. She asked me questions about my birth plan and preferences that I didn't even think of, which was much needed for a first time mom. beth helped calm my husband, who was secretly freaking out in the corner of the delivery room. With her there, we both were able to remain calm and knew we were in good hands.

For the birth experience, labor and delivery, Beth was incredible. I am so glad my husband and I decided to have a doula’s support. Beth is very calm, suggested various positions and provided steady, graceful support throughout the active labor and birth process. Some of the techniques she encouraged me to use were different positions. She also suggested various breathing techniques that proved extremely helpful. All the while, she maintained her calm and supportive manner which was so important to me. Her support is highly effective and she is sincere in her demeanor. The services Beth provides are extremely helpful and I would recommend her highly to anyone looking for the services of a doula. I think what makes Beth the ideal doula is her calm approach to support and her forthright manner.
