Relevant volunteer or advocacy work

I am a recent graduate from the OHSU Nurse-Midwifery program. I'm currently studying for my boards exam to become a Certified Nurse-Midwife. I have four years of experience caring for patients though their prenatal period, postpartum period, labor, and birth. I support individuals and families who seek diverse kinds of labor and birth experiences. I am familiar with many types of relaxation techniques, positions, and medications, and can assist you in determining which is best for your birth. I will never speak for you, but will help to facilitate conversations with your midwife or physician to ensure you have all the information you need to make choices about your care. In addition to my experience as a student nurse-midwife and doula, I have extensive experience with abortion care and support. I have volunteered to provide this support for three years, and have lead several student education groups that center reproductive justice. Finally, I am a queer woman. I am committed to providing affirming care to people of all genders and sexual orientations. I understand health disparities and their connection to race, age, and gender.
