As a 2nd time mom, seeking to VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), the first thing I started thinking about when I found out that I was pregnant was doulas. I sought recommendations from online friends and my husband and I met with three prospective doulas. Brittany was the last one we consulted and was a no-brainer for us. We loved that she has midwife training and has experienced multiple types of birth herself, including VBAC. We both felt very comfortable with her and knew that she would be great support for both of us.

We couldn't be happier with our experience. Throughout the pregnancy, Brittany was a wealth of information on pregnancy and birth issues. I especially appreciated that she would send me unbiased articles or those supporting both sides of controversial issues, so that I could truly make informed decisions. Unfortunately, I ended up having to have a repeat c-section, but Brittany was a big help and comfort on the day of my daughter's birth. She stayed with me in reccovery, so that my husband could be with our baby, in the NICU; she made phone calls and sent messages for me; and she kept my mind occupied while I had to wait to meet my baby girl. She vissted us at home after the birth and helped me by playing with my older son, doing light housework, holding the baby so that I could devote some time to my toddler, etc.

I believe that everbody would benefit from the services of a doula during pregnancy and birth and Brittany is a wonderful choice!

I was referred to Brittany by my Midwives at The Natural Birthing Center. I wasn't really sure what a Doula was or if I even needed one but after meeting with her I was hooked. Brittany definitely has a light, and spirit around her that is contagious and I thought to myself "This girl will definitely help get me through this." and she did!

I was expecting my first baby around June 6th which was a Saturday but he was a no show. That following Monday June the 8th I had my midwives appointment and we really thought he might be another week. Little did we know he would be arriving very soon. My water broke at 2:00 a.m, I texted Brittany right away and with in an hour she arrived at my home ready for action. She jumped right in and quickly by my side. Since I hadn't slept all day my husband and I were exhausted and quick to forget everything we learned to do to ease labor. I'm so thankful I had Brittany because she kept me going and moving. She had me doing pelvic thrust, swaying back and forth, pressure points, breathing techniques and some other things I don't have names for all to help relieve the pain, and boy did it help. I was able to sleep up until my next contraction which helped so much.

When it came down to pushing Brittany held my hand all the way through and I'm sure the poor thing had to go home and ice it afterwards. She was there for me every second of labor with a smile and a gentle push to keep going. She made my experience so wonderful. I tell my friends having a Doula during labor is like having the luxury birth package. I think the thing that helped me the most was her rebozo technique during pushing where she had an end of it and I had the other and as I pushed I would pull on it and it helped keep me pushing where I needed to.

All in all I would most definitely require Brittany's services again on our next baby. She is amazing at what she does and our family loves her very much.
