Robyn is the best!! We can't speak highly enough about her. When I first got pregnant I wasn't really that familiar with doulas but we went to a meet the doulas event and got to know Robyn. We decided to work with her on a postpartum basis. One of the things we loved, other than her great personality, is that she stressed that she's there to help mom in any way she can which included meal prep and some light cleaning. And she did not disappoint! She was so good to me - from making me special teas to help remedy how I was feeling to actually going out and doing the grocery shopping and then coming back and making fabulous meals. And because I am a picky eater she was very flexible in allowing me to pick the meals and modify as I desired - no judgement! And I wasn't sure how it would be to have someone relatively new in the house at such a vulnerable time but she spent time with us before the birth to get to know us and her demeanor just puts you right at ease and she thinks to do things before you even ask. I couldn't have made it through the months after I gave birth without her! Both my husband and I are forever grateful for all that Robyn did for us and continues to do for us! She was also amazing at connecting me with other people and services that she thought I might enjoy like a manicure/pedicure service that comes to your home so you don't have to leave which was music to my ears as a new mom. So if you are looking for a great Doula to work with please look no further. I highly recommend Robyn!
I'm so grateful for the support that Robyn gave me after I had my little boy in August 2016. I was overwhelmed when my husband returned to work and contacted Robyn. She came over for an afternoon and listened to me as I shared my birth story, and held my baby while I took a shower, which was a huge luxury at that time! She also folded my laundry, which was a huge help.
Postpartum doulas are such a help and Robyn is great at what she does! She has a calm and sweet demeanor, and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for regular help, or even just help for a day!
Robyn is AMAZING. I met her while I was pregnant with my second child and taking steps to become a doula myself, and her warm demeanor and extensive knowledge pretty much ensured that I would want her as my doula. At our prenatal meetings, she was personable, kind, and helpful. She really helped to put me and my husband at ease, and to help my husband be comfortable with and connected to her. When I went into labor, I woke up to contractions 2 minutes apart or less, and my son was born less than two hours later. Robyn arrived at the hospital as I began pushing, so I didn't get to experience very much of her labor support, but what she did do was lovely, and I felt more supported when she walked into the room. After the birth, she helped take pictures for us and when my son was sent to the NICU for a little help and observation, she stayed by my side, making sure I had everything I needed and wasn't left alone without my husband or new baby. I will be forever grateful for that. Basically, I highly recommend her and think she is fabulous.
Robyn is truly a Comfort! We loved having Robyn as a Doula and part of the birthing experience for our second baby. We were lucky to have her with us. Throughout our prenatal meetings, the birth and postnatal time with her, she was very calming, caring and supportive as well as informative. She gave us very useful tips for positions and techniques to use during labor. We most loved having Robyn in the hospital with us as part of our birthing team. She was very attentive to mom’s needs, helping to ensure that our preferences from our birth plan were kept as a priority when things were happening fast. In addition to watching over mom & baby, she took photos and provided much needed back up and support for Dad and Grandma. Her gentle, nurturing and supportive nature were very much appreciated after our baby was born and the doctors and nurses left the room. Robyn’s follow up after we came home from the hospital made us feel reassured and well cared for too. Her presence was a blessing and we recommend her wholeheartedly!
When my husband and I learned we were pregnant we were so excited, and as we started to prepare for the birth of our daughter we initially were on the fence about if we would need a doula. My husband said he was fully capable at handling all that I would need on that day. Admittedly I was not totally familiar with what a doula's full scope of support was all about until I became more involved and educated about their profession through Blossom Birth in Palo Alto near where we live. We took a childbirth prep course there and found it hugely successful. Through that network of support and education I was able to meet and get to know Robyn during the later weeks of my pregnancy. When I learned that she was a doula and also training to become a certified postpartum doula as well we got to chatting one day and I asked if she would be interested in being a doula for us even though it was a somewhat last minute decision, I was 37 weeks pregnant at the time. She happliy said she would be honored and I felt some relief as I know the big day was approaching and I knew that although my husband was still interested in being my primary support during labor, we agreed it would be nice to have someone else there to support both of us and assist us with our birth wishes while at the hospital. I could not say more positive things about how much of a help she turned out to be for us, I am so grateful she was there to support me during those hours. She brought a sense of calm, and genuine positivity to such a wonderful event. I was able to keep my wish of having a natural birth because of her and my husbands amazing support and confidence in me. All in all, her communication was fantastic, her positive energy and passion for supporting our birth, and her follow up visits really made me feel confident throughout the whole experience. I would highly recommend her to be a member of anyones support team, she is awesome!
I'm writing this reference for Robyn while holding my two month old daughter in my arms and as I reflect on our experience partnering with Robyn I have only the most glowingly positive memories. Robyn's last name, Comfort, could not fit her more. From the first time my husband and I met her we felt totally at east with her. She has a very calming and comforting presence. She is also an amazing listener! Every time we got together to talk I always left the conversations feeling heard and supported. Robyn is clearly passionate about birth. When we met each time to discuss our partnership Robyn came prepared to talk about different topics that might be helpful to us, but was also completely responsive to whatever topics were on our minds. We felt like Robyn was learning with us and that was really exciting. When our daughter was born Robyn was totally with us in every sense of the word- she offered the kind of support we had asked of her in a constantly selfless way. Robyn offered many different comfort measures to me while I was in labor from wonderful aromatherapy to foot massages and bright pleasant conversation. She was understanding, supportive, and totally nonjudgemental as we developed a birth plan and then as our birth story unfolded she continued to be understaning, supporting, and totally nonjudgemental as we changed our plans in response to the realities of the birth. Robyn also established positive relationships with all the medical staff during our hospital birth and connected warmly with our family members and friends who came to be with us during the birth and afterwards. Robyn was also very warm and supportive of us as a new family of three. She came for a couple post partum visits and it was wonderful to see her and to be encouraged by her. We whole-heartedly and unreservedly recommend Robyn as a doula!
