It is hard to put into words just what a tremendous gift it was to have Andrea provide post-partum doula services. Andrea is warm, supportive, patient, and helpful. She provided me and my daughter with such amazing care. Even on days we didn’t have a session, just knowing she was coming in the next few days gave me incredible peace and reassurance.
I honestly still don’t know if I have fully realized the depth to which her help and support has impacted me. I do know that I am forever grateful to her. Andrea was an incredible emotional support, encouraging me and helping me to find my own way as a new mom. I was amazed by her openness and support, how comfortable I was with her from the start, and her complete lack of judgement. She never imposed a “right way” to do things, rather she helped me find what worked best for me. We talked about different schools of thought and approaches and how to navigate through all the information out there. She helped me find confidence in trusting my instincts. She believed in me and that helped me believe in myself.
Andrea was incredible tuned in to my daughter and I from the start. Andrea was so loving towards my daughter and my daughter adored her. Andrea has a gentleness and an ease that I think she really responded to.
Then there was the practical stuff, whether it was washing bottles and dishes, making sure I ate, cooking meals for me I could have after she left, cleaning out the humidifier, etc. I would often have an idea in mind for our sessions (watch the baby so I could wash my hair, or sterilize new bottles), but what impressed me was that she found different ways she could help without needing to be asked.
Andrea truly cares for her clients. She understands the awesomeness that is the experience of motherhood in all its beautiful, scary, exhausting, rewarding, daunting, and humbling glory and is a great partner to have as you navigate through it all.
Hiring Andrea as a post-birth doula was one of the very best decisions I made during the whirlwind time right after I welcomed my son. I was quite overwhelmed and she helped me get comfortable with a lot of new responsibilities. In a few short sessions, I was amazed at how much more confident I felt and how much more I was able to enjoy new motherhood. Andrea is a delightful, smart, warm woman and I cannot recommend her more highly.
Andrea was an amazing help as I navigated the early weeks of postpartum with my second babe. I was definitely feeling overwhelmed, but her support and presence brought order to the madness. Her visits brought me mental balance toward feeling more confident in caring for myself and my kids. I am forever thankful for her love and support.
I had two sessions with Andrea following the recent birth of my daughter and am so grateful for the opportunity to work with her. From our initial conversation it was clear that she would offer just the kind of support my family needed during this exciting but overwhelming time One of the things I expressed interest in was some help with food preparation, and she delivered -- among other things, she suggested and prepared healthy, hearty soups and stews, as well as lactation-friendly snacks for me to keep on hand or take on the go. She also helped with our storage and organization needs, gave me a tutorial on the various babywearing gear I've acquired (but was nervous about using), and interacted beautifully with my older daughter as needed. Having her there allowed to pump, shower and take care of other small but important things new moms often have trouble finding time to take care of. Andrea is warm, easygoing and flexible about how she can best help each client, which all together make her a pleasure to be around, and to have around one's family. I highly recommend her!
Andrea provided me and my twin girls with warm and loving guidance and support. She helped us in many different ways by assisting with feeding, diaper changing, chores and other tasks. She was alos supportive of my transition into becoming a mother by being a sounding board for my questions and helping me learn to trust my own instincts. She was very calm and patient and a valuable resource to us as we learn to be on our own.
Andrea is truly an amazing doula! She was a backup for me and my client was thrilled with her! My client had a unique situation and Andrea handled it with such love and grace. She has a very rare and special quality of putting you at ease as soon as she walks in the door. She brings such a wealth of information from her counseling background as well. You can't go wrong with her as she helps you adjust to having your new addition!
