Attends hospital births? All Hospitals
I offer support for any and all hospital birth, my role is to support and respect the wishes of mom, whatever that may be. I attended scheduled inductions and scheduled cesareans. I am familiar with and comfortable with hospital protocols and medical interventions. As your Doula I can work with hospital staff and procedures to assure your wishes are met and your needs are respected.
Attends birth center births? All Birth Centers
Birth centers are a lovely environment to birth in. I have great flexibility to utilize positioning and comfort techniques in a Birth Center.
Attends home births? Some Home Births
My only requirement for a home birth is that you are being cared for by a fully Licensed Midwife and that your Labor and Delivery will by overseen by this Midwife. Home Births give us the ultimate flexibility in shaping your environment, utilizing positions, and using your favorite comfort techniques. In the case of a healthy normal pregnancy it is wonderful to see a mother be able to utilize her home for birthing.

We wanted someone to be an advocate for us and our birth plan and to allow my husband to focus on comforting me and we found Kimberly far exceeded all of our expectations.

From our first meeting, we felt comfortable with Kim and it was obvious she was very knowledgeable about all aspects of labor and delivery.
This was our first child, and Kim was supportive of my choice to use Nitrous and an epidural for pain management.

Labor came on quick and she met us at the hospital and expertly took the lead in comforting me. She knew the right thing to say at the right time to calm me, help me to focus.

Kim knew our birthplan and helped keep us to it. As the doctors suggested various tests and interventions, Kim was our voice of reason: she spoke up and made sure we knew when we could decline and stick to our plan.

We found Kim an invaluable resource and would highly recommend her to anyone!

Kim is an amazing doula. She was instrumental in helping me achieve the birth experience that I had hoped for through providing knowledge and resources during my pregnancy and amazing support during labor. Her constant voice of positivity and encouragement gave me the confidence that I needed for a natural birth, especially as a first time mama. I truly believe that my experience would have been very different without her, and I am thankful that my husband and I had her on our team!

I clicked with Kimberly from the beginning. I found her to be genuine, respectful, friendly,  informative and knowledgeable. I was planning on attempting a VBA2C, with a history of having big babies. Throughout my pregnancy she was a huge encouragement and was always there to offer positive, helpful words and affirmations when I was feeling anxious. I know I would've lost my nerve if not for her support. During labor,  she was very intuitive. There were times I internalized the level of pain I was feeling, but she was very in tune to my posture, expressions, changes in breathing/tone/etc and always seemed to know exactly what comfort measures I needed and which ones I did and did not like. She spoke soft encouraging words throughout my long labor and showed such compassion and empathy when I felt like I had failed and could go no further. I did get my VBA2C (he was 11lbs 4oz!) and I credit so much of my success to Kimberly. My family was very skeptical of my having a doula and did not see her presence as being a necessity, but after the birth they all saw her value! My mom now tells everyone they should have a doula and talks about how wonderful Kimberly was.

Kimberly became my doula for the birth of my third child who was due on February 21, 2015. Both of my previous pregnancies resulted in inductions (both boys were late) and the use of an epidural. However, I still wanted a natural labor and was hoping that a doula would help. Throughout the pregnancy, Kimberly was supportive and present via phone, text, and meeting up with me. She offered me techniques to help encourage labor and took me on walks when I was stuck indoors after several snow storms. Kimberly supported my decisions while making sure that I had all the information to make the best decision for my family. Although we ended up scheduling an induction again (a week and a half after due date), the experience was completely different from my other deliveries. Kimberly was present and made sure I felt empowered throughout the process. Because of her involvement, I had already started to progress prior to the induction, I was able to get a wireless monitor and walk and move throughout labor. Kimberly helped make sure the nurses and doctors were clear on my intentions to not have any pain medication. Because of Kimberly, I was able to have that happen. She helped my husband and I bring our beautiful baby boy into the world without more unnecessary medication. I couldn't have been happier with her invovlement and role in our pregnancy and delivery.

Kim was amazing!! Without her I don't think I would have made it all the way without any intervention, even tho my laboring didn't last that long, she was a great help. Motivated me, told me how to breath, comforted me, among many other things. I would recommend her and her services to anyone that would want a doula by their side while in labor. And I will for sure call her again, I didn't just gain a great doula, I also gained a great friend. Thank you very much Kim, you are awesome :).
