Ashley was incredible. From our initial meeting, I felt like we clicked, and my husband felt at ease with her right away (as did our daughters!). We knew she'd be a good fit, and she was very supportive of our choices for labor and birth. I really appreciated the way she checked in with me periodically, leading up to my due date, and she was so patient, caring, and reassuring when my due date passed and I was feeling frustrated with still being pregnant with my sweet boy. My only regret is that we only spent about an hour together before he was born! From meeting us at the entrance to the hospital to walk me in (and allow my husband to park the car), to helping me check in (while I was in transition!), all the way through the hectic half hour in the delivery room until our baby was born, her presence was invaluable. Her calmness was just what I needed during my quick, intense labor, and I can still hear her comforting reminders to breathe when things were getting crazy. She will forever be a part of our birth story, and I couldn't be happier that she was by our side that morning.
Ashley is worth her weight in gold! My husband and I hired Ashley due to my desire to have a natural unmedicated birth. From the very first meeting, her nurturing and calming presence was evident. She was extremely accessible and responsive to e-mails and texts throughout my pregnancy, and was great about checking in to see how things were going. As it turned out, my labor progressed extremely fast (my son was born an hour after getting into a hospital room), therefore never allowing the time for any of the relaxation techniques we had intended. Despite this, Ashley still served as a valuable support person, keeping me calm as the whirlwind unfolded. She held my hand, rubbed my head, and told me how great of a job I was doing. Although we never got the opportunity to tap into all of Ashley's birthing expertise and techniques, I am so glad she was there, and wouldn't hesitate to hire her again for my next pregnancy! I also chose to have my placenta encapsulated. She was very prompt in delivering my pills the day I arrived home from the hospital. I would gladly recommend Ashley to anyone looking to hire a doula - she's amazing!!
Ashley was such an essential part of not only my labor & delivery but of my pregnancy and postpartum. She was so helpful with any questions or concerns I had and was always available with insight and words of encouragement. Even with some unexpected complications during labor & delivery I felt calm and comfortable with her support and reassurance. It also gave my Husband piece of mind knowing that we had someone there for advice and guidance. I couldn't imagine this process without her and would highly recommend her services to any expecting Momma's. I've never met someone who truly loves what they do as much as Ashley does and our family was truly blessed to find her. <3
It's been one of those years that life just seems so difficult and there isn't much good. Yes I was pregnant and my husband and I were so excited, but it was such a challenge to stay positive. I knew I wanted to go all natural (or at least try) with the birth of our daughter and a doula was someone I wanted on my team for both physical and mental support. I reached out to several doulas, some didn't respond and some were booked. That's how I found Ashley. We didn't schedule any other interviews and just knew if it was right it would work out. Ashley was the perfect fit! She has such calm presence that made all of us feel comfortable, even our dog. She also responds quickly which I was very impressed with. I didn't know what to really ask her through my pregnancy, but she was always there supporting. I just knew that she would be there to help when we needed it and that was enough for me. I went into labor earlier that expected and was unsure if it was really happening, but Ashley was there for us every step of the way. I may have squeezed her fingers so tight during my labor, but she was happy to be there and so supportive. I am so grateful that we found Ashley and she is in our lives. Sometimes in the middle of a crazy year you find someone amazing and that was Ashely. Thank you so much for everthing <3
as soon as we met, I knew I could rely on Ashley. She listened. She was there for me physically and especially mentally through my not so easy pregnancy. Even not having my ideal birth, she always asked me and reminded me to make sure the dr.s knew what I wanted. And when my baby decided to come early, she was there and the whole experience was the most joyful and happiest moment of my life. Because I let go and wasn't in fear. Thank you so much, Ashley! You were such a big part of our journey! You will always be a part of our lives and baby Huckleberry's xoxoxxo
My husband and I are very appreciative of your services and having you on board with the delivery of our son. I could not have done it without your support to Chris and myself. Your calm presence, expertise in utilizing various techniques, and eye gaze were so reassuring to me throughout the entire labor. And the pictures! Incredible! Thank you for that additional "gift" that comes with your services. These are invaluable and obviously we would have never been able to get these moments captured on our own. Thank you!
Ashley was an amazing doula. My husband and I were late in the game getting a doula. Even with the late connection, it felt as though Ashley was with us the whole pregnancy. She took time out of her day to check in on me, she gave me encouragement after each doctor appointment, and put my husband at ease as well. Come birth time, Ashley was great in adaptation. Our plan for labor significantly changed after an OB appointment. She was able to go with the flow without any complaint or problems. Due to the change in labor, I mid-labor, decided to change my birth plan. She was supportive of my decision, and didn't make me feel ashamed for changing my plan. Ashley gifted us with the pictures of our labor and birth of our child. The pictures were beautifu! I also had Ashley encapsulate my placenta. She handled the process in a professional manner and promptly supplied me with the pills. The pills themselves have been so helpful and made me look/feel amazing during this postpartum time. Ashely, thank you for everything. Your support was more comforting than you realize!
My husband and I both agree that hiring Ashley as our doula was the best choice we made in preparing for the birth of our son. She offered so much support to each of us through our time together. She started by offering unbiased information and encouraging me to do my own research and make my own choices for my labor wishes and for the immediate care of my baby. The day I was in labor she came over and helped me breathe properly, suggested positions to relieve back pain and encourage the baby to move along, offered aromatherapy, used physical touch to help me through contractions, encouraged my husband with techniques to support me, and she offered emotional support when I was spent and dejected. After birth my baby had some breathing issues so he was whisked away before I could hold him. Ashley showed us precious photos she snapped of him in the moments immediately after he was born. She didn’t leave until she was sure my husband and I were comfortable. She kept in touch in the following days and helped me process the birth. After experiencing labor and child birth for the first time I strongly feel the benefit I received from the presence of a doula. The steady care and support are invaluable during such a transition. We would have truly been lost without her. Her nurturing energy radiates a passion for childbirth and motherhood. When the time comes for us to welcome another child I would hire her again in a heartbeat.
