Brandy radiates a calming and caring presence that can put even the most stressed mom-to-be at ease.  She is a walking wealth of knowledge who comes prepared for any birthing experience.  I loved her little bag of goody's that she had put together filled with things she knew I would like or need throughout the delivery, like: lavender oil, lotion, chocolates, an ipod, orange juice and a big and soft bath towel, as she knew we were doing a water birth and the hospital towels are not very thick and nice!

As a nurse, I felt like I should know what to do or what to expect, but when you are in the midst of giving birth, it is a completly consuming process and I did not want to have to "think," I just wanted to focus on my breathing and safe arrival of baby...So for myself, it was AMAZING having someone else there to gently guide and advocate on my behalf, who provided support and assistance to me (and my husband) through all the phases of birth and beyond!  Brandy was very resourceful and helpful regarding placenta capsulation and continuing to care for us through postpartum. She even organized a meal delivery plan with our friends and family and took the time to bring us a delicious homemade dinner when stopping over to check on us. She was such a gift to us during the birth of our third child.  I highly recommend Brandy and would be more than happy to provide further details regarding the excellence and integrity of her doula care.

First off, I would like to say that I am typically not one that could endure a lot of pain. In a nutshell, I'm a whip. Even so, I felt that I wanted to educate myself on all possibilities of child birth. After taking Bradley Method classes with Brandy, I felt confident that I could have a natural child birth. Brandy helped us figure out what was important and helped us put together a solid birth plan. When it was time for the hospital she was prompt to get there and came well prepared. My husband was very thankful knowing that I was being taken care of. He felt that having Brandy there took some pressure off of him trying to be the expert. She helped us stay calm and focused. My labor was pretty text book when it came to preperation. "Transition" was awful but if I can make it through, anyone can. Unfortunately my delivery was a little complicated but Brandy was by our side every step of the way. We felt confident in her direction when we weren't 100% about something. She didn't miss a beat! She stayed very calm under pressure. After I delievered my baby she explained what was happening and even took notes of what was going on in the heat of the momoment. Seriously, who thinks of that? She does. Our baby had a little longer stay in the hospital than planned but is now a very healthy 16 lb 4 month old. :) We are so grateful to Brandy for being there. If you haven't noticed, there's a trend going on...calm...focused.
