Angela was amazing from start to finish. I was so comfortable with her, even after our first meeting - she is more than a Doula, she becomes part of your family. As a first time Mother, there were a lot of things I didn’t know about the labor and birthing process. She took the time to explain everything to my husband and I in a manner that made us feel as prepared as we could be for the big day. Having Angela there for labor and delivery was incredible and I know that my husband is especially thankful. She is not only a means of support for the Mother, but also for the Father! What a relief it was to have someone else to lean on during this amazing experience. If you are a first time Mothere and considering a Doula, I highly recommend doing so! Angela was one of the best decisions we made for our baby girl.
We would highly recommend Angela. She is a wonderful doula and lovely person. After the birth of my first child when I did not have a doula and had a difficult birth experience, I knew that I wanted one the second time around and preferably someone who had lots of experience, which Angela certainly does. Both my husband and I felt much less stressed during the labor (and during the weeks leading up to it) knowing that Angela was there in case we needed any help making birthing decisions in the heat of the moment, which is something we struggled with during the birth of our first child and resulted in some regrets after the fact. Her calmness helped to reassure me that everything was going fine when, without her being there, I would almost definitely have started to question whether or not everything I was feeling was normal and ok since I have a tendency to worry and doubt my own judgement under pressure. Knowing that she would stay with me regardless of how long the labor took (my first labor was very long) was also very comforting for me. I had a wonderful birth experience second time around and managed it without any interventions or pain relief other than a TENS machine (that I borrowed from Angela and would very highly recommend). I know for a fact that I would not have had the natural birth experience I wanted so badly if it had not been for the help of an experienced doula such as Angela. I will always be grateful to her and should we have any more children, I will certainly be asking her to be my doula again.
Angel Fogle was the best choice for my family during my pregnancy, labor, and delivery. She is so knnowlegable, kind, supportive, and understanding. Angela was there for all stages any time that I needed her. She was readily available anytime I needed her for anything. During my labor Angela was by my side the entire time. She knew exactly how to support me and how to help my husband support me during my labor. Pregnancy is such a bonding time for your family and Angela fostered that in ours. My husband and I shared this magical moment of him talking me through the birth of our son. She was there to help answer questions and help make decisions during labor so I could focus. My birth experience was amazing thanks to Angela's support and guidance. We love her so much!
It would be impossible to over state the importance of having Angela present for the birth of our daughter. As first time parents, it can be overwhelming to say the least. Add to that our desire for a natural childbirth in a time when those are increasingly rare. Angela was the calming force we needed and the strength required to keep our birth plan on track. As my wife was ready to deliver, the over 20 hours of labor had her exhausted. When it came time to push she was not able to sustain. Angela suggested the "tug of war" blanket. It worked perfectly. Within 20 minutes our daughter was safely ushered into the world with no drugs and an alert mom. It was an amazing experience. If we are fortunate enough to have another child, Angela will be by our side.
I highly recommend Angela for anyone seeking postpartum care. Angela graced our home with love, encouragement, and cheer each day she spent with us. Her attention to my son, his comfort, safety, and his every need was exceptional. The care she offered him exceeded the basic, fundamental care newborns need. She focused specifically on his individual needs and taught me to read his signals so I could better meet them as well. My son was born 6 weeks early and stayed in the hospital when I came home. Angela helped me find new ways to bond with him once he was home - from kangaroo care to baby massage to his first real bath - I could not have navigated those first few months without her. Angela was a gift to both of us! We miss her!
When I first met Angela, it was clear she was very experienced, knowledgeable, and in line with my birth goals. These were all very important to me, but I knew I wanted someone warm, personable, and a good team player that would be able to strongly advocate for me in the hospital but would also work continually and seamlessly with hospital staff. All of this is a tall order!! But Angela fit all that and more! Maybe the most important thing to know about Angela is she makes you and your baby her number one priority and and goes above and beyond always. It is obvious she genuinely loves this work and really cares about her mamas and their babies. She has called to check up on me many times in the postpartum period and has stopped by to help with anything and everything. My baby's birth ended up very different from what I had imagined, due to unforeseen complications. I was terrified at the time but Angela held my husband and I together. I truly dont know what we would have done without her!! She helped me so much through the la or pains and later on, when it was clear I would have to have a c section, she gave me warm smiles and let me squeeze her hand. Her face told me I had nothing to fear and that she wouldn't leave me or my husband. We were so lucky to have found her. Angela is an exceptional doula but more importantly she is an exceptional human being. You would do well to have her by your side at your baby's birth. It's the best decision my husband and I made. (aside from having our little one, of course!)
Angela was the first and only Doula I met with, and I knew I liked her as soon as we spoke on the phone. We then met in person, to talk through her services and see if we were officially a good fit. My husband and I said as soon as she left “We want to hire Angela to help us through all of life - not just childbirth!”. She is just one of those people who calms you, is a wealth of knowledge but isn’t overbearing at all. We quickly secured her services as we couldn’t imagine going through this process without her!We met with Angela two times before the delivery - where she went through pages of information helping us to determine our Birth Preferences. There were so, so many things that we just had no clue about. The next meeting we talked through ways we could manage my pain once I went into labor. Once I did go into labor, I couldn’t imagine what the process would have been without her help, guidance and support. My labor ended up being much different from what I envisioned it would be. My contractions started at midnight and after an hour or so they were overwhelming, crippling and starting to come much faster then we expected. Being able to call Angela, and to talk to her, hear her familiar voice and reassurance was so helpful to my husband and myself. The labor was long, I felt so defeated at times but Angela stayed by our sides the entire time Also, I know at some hospitals they provide a Doula, but to me having a Doula that I had already met with several times, emailed with, was able to call, and having her with me during my entire labor was so worth every penny. I just can’t imagine walking into the hospital, meeting my Doula and then possibly having the Doula leave because her shift was over would be near the same experience. As soon as I am pregnant next, I’ll tell my husband the good news, then my parents and then immediately call Angela to get on her calendar!
Oh my gosh! What can I say about Angela?! She was a God send for my family and I. This was the first time I used a doula and I interviewed a few. When I met Angela, I KNEW I needed to have her by my side when I gave birth. Being an Army wife and far away from family, she made me feel like we were family, like she cared and would take care of me. She is very knowledgable and kind. My daughter decided to arrive 6 weeks early and Angela was ready! She arrived at the hospital as soon after I called her. She rode in the ambulance with me when I had to be transferred and was with me every single step of the way.
I had mentioned I wanted to try my best to deliver without medication and she provided the best plan for me. Great breathing techniques, great massages between contractions and great motivation. When I was told it was time to push, I got really scared but she reassured me that I was doing great and that I could do this! And then my baby arrived, I was so happy! Angela didn't stop there.
She was there to be my advocate with the nurses. She was insistant on me having something to drink and eat. When the nurses weren't proactive, guess who went and FOUND food for me?! Angela! LOL! I don't know how she got a hold of cafeteria food, but she made sure I had something! Once I was transferred to my room, she helped clean me up and stayed with me. She took care of me just like a Mom would. She even provided care after I went home from the hospital.
Angela was a huge blessing not only for me but for my husband. He was able to enjoy this delivery. He wasn't in charge of anything but to hold my hand. He didn't have the pressure of being my advocate and/or knowing if I was doing okay. He just sat back and enjoyed the delivery process of our daughter.
Thank you Angela. You will forever have a special place in our family and our hearts!
We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice of doula! Angela was an INCREDIBLE asset to our birthing team. Not only was the information she provided ahead of time extremely helpful (relaxation techniques, help building a birthing plan, etc.) but she was the voice of calm and reason during our daughter's birth. Our plan fell apart and I ended up having a C-section but for 28 hours Angela was by my side. She helped provide relaxation techniques and support to me and my husband, as well as advocated for me in allowing the doctors to give me more time for a vaginal birth. She even provided post-birth support in the weeks following, which was helpful and very much appreciated. To this day we keep in contact and my husband jokes that wherever we are living if we ever have another child we will have to fly Angela to our home to be our doula again. She is a wonderful support to have in your corner and I would highly recommend her to any pregnant woman I know!
Angela supported us through the birth of our daughter. Prior to the birth, she guided us through creating a birth plan by helping us to think through what our ideal experience would be. I found it very helpful to have another person who is knowledgeable and very experienced working with me other than only my doctors. It was nice to be able to shoot her an email or give her a quick call with questions during my pregnancy. Angela was very supportive of our VBAC and helped me to go into it with confidence. She stayed by our side througout my grueling 21 hour labor and provided invaluable suggestions. In fact, the doctor used several of her suggestions to ultimately deliver my daughter. She worked well with the doctor and other medical staff. I appreciated having someone else to talk through my ever-changing options throughout my labor. I believe having Angela as part of our support system definitely helped us to have a successfull VBAC delivery.
Angela was great to work with! She is very matter of fact and reassuring. She knows a lot about different techniques for pain management, but is also very willing to follow your lead. She was very supportive and I highly recommend her!
It was important to me to try for a "drug-free" birth for my daughter, and there is no way I would have succeeded without Angela.
As a first time mom, I didn't know what to expect from labor and delivery, and my OBGYN practice rotates you through each doctor during prenatal visits, so I didn't feel like I had a good relationship with any one of them, and didn't feel comfortable asking all of my questions in the 20-minute appointment window. Angela was a wealth of information and provided the consistency I needed throughout my pregnancy. I felt like I could ask her anything, and found that having answers gave me a great deal of reassurance throughout the process.
Angela has a calming energy and was so easy to talk to. She answered my calls at all hours leading up to the delivery, and cancelled her brunch plans to rush to my house at go-time. She was indispensable at the hospital. She made sure that the hospital staff understood my preferences and carried them out, without being combative or pushy. She coached my husband and I through each stage of labor, and she had a million tricks up her sleeve to manage the pain. I wouldn't consider going through another pregnancy, labor and delivery without Angela by my side. I highly recommend a doula, particularly Angela, to all mothers!
