Tina is the absolute best! She actually came to us as the “back up” for our doula when I went into labor a little earlier than expected and was a perfect match immediately. Tina met us at the hospital during a difficult time in my labor and straight away began to help us get into a rhythm with her warm, reassuring presence. She was so calming and had a great variety of tools and techniques for rhythm, focus and relaxation. She offered invaluable support to both me and my husband and I truly feel that having her as part of my team helped us to have an absolutely amazing birth experience. She has been caring and thoughtful in post partum follow up as well—making herself available if I have concerns or questions. I cannot recommend Tina highly enough!
Tina was an absolute blessing for our family. A month after moving to Connecticut from a California due to the Military we found out we were expecting. With no family and very few friends we were limited with options for our older child while I was laboring. Through connections at the hospital we got in contact with Tina and it was a perfect match. She helped entertain our daughter once labor progressed to needing my Husband to be at my side. She also stepped in when needed to help either my Husband or me out while I was laboring. She was a jack of all trades that day and I don’t think I can thank her enough. From meeting before hand a few times, to even after having my son, she has become someone I will keep in contact with throughout the years because she is a special and wonderful person and you can’t ask for much more when you need that support and strength in one of the most trying yet wonderful parts of life.
Tina was great! She was an excellent doula and such a thougthful person. Tina came to my house several times to assist my husband and I in developing our birth plan for our labor and delivery. Tina was able to offer me great advice, give me reading resources, and really listened to what I hoped to have happen for my birthplan. When in labor she was essential! She such a physical and emotional support to me. And to my husband. Looking back at it, she really supported my husband and with a team of two, I was able not only to survivie labor, but was able to move through labor quickly. We had a lengthy delivery time and when I was so exhausted, she was there to help. Things I like best about Tina was her calm presence, support (both physical and emotional) and how she was able to help me process each change from the birth plan to have a healthy labor and delivery of my son. We are looking to have a second and would definately have Tina be our doula again.
Tina Browning and Heather Davis both attended my birth. I had an induction and went into labor around 1 AM on a Tuesday morning. Heather arrived when my contractions were about 3 minutes apart. My daughter was not born until Wednesday around noon. Heather provided wonderful support and encouragement throughout my labor, but since it was quite a long one, Tina came to support me on Tuesday evening so that Heather could go home and get some rest. Tina was equally wonderful, supportive, and helpful. On Wednesday morning when I started to push, Heather returned and both of them were present for the birth. After the birth they took some photos for my husband and I and left about an hour after delivery.
A few weeks after the birth, both Tina and Heather came to our home to check in on us and make sure everything was going smoothly. I am so glad that I had both of them there to support and guide me through the birth of my first child!
Tina was a caring, kind, thoughful and knowledgeable doula. She called to check on me in my last weeks of pregnancy, she came to my house for a walk around the neighborhood (that I still maintain started my labor because I had my son six hours later), and she was there for me all the way through birth and beyond.
I was so scared during labor, and being an unmedicated birth, I was in a lot of pain that I didn't know how to channel. Tina's soothing voice and calm demeanor helped me immensely. When I was unable to birth in the tub and needed to make my way back to the birthing room, Tina was there, telling me I could do it when I didn't think that I could.
And, this is worth mentioning to me... when we were taking pictures after the baby was born, Tina gave me a tissue with some eye makeup remover on it since my mascara was down to my knees at that point and I had no idea. It was those little touches that made me so grateful for her leading up to delivery, through it, and in the weeks following when I struggled with breast feeding. I would highly recommend Tina Browning's doula services.
I highly recommend Tina as a doula. Having been induced the first time I gave birth I had no idea how the onset of labor would feel-Tina provided calm, sound advice through the process and knew to leave for the hospital even though we forgot to tell her to! When she arrived she brought calming and positive vibes-she rubbed my back, got cool washcloths, and provided encouragement. Luckily it was a quick birth but she continued to provide support afterwards- letting me squeeze her hand off during stitches, getting juice, finding my glasses, and rehashing until we were ready to sleep. Tina also provided postpartum support via regular check ins and advice in the weeks following the birth. Again, I highly recommend her-she was integral part of an amazing journey.
Tina is nothing short of amazing! As a first time mom, I had SOOO much anxiety about giving birth, and Tina was a welcome support throughout our experience. Her kind, reassuring and gentle manner made such a huge difference during my labor, as nothing ended up going the way I thought it would, and I was anything but calm for much of my labor! And her post-partum support was so very helpful as well. Tina was kind enough to surprise us with a written birth story for our daughter; my husband and I were so touched by this gesture. She truly cares about the families she works with, and was an invaluable support to my husband and in in this experience!
Congratulations, You are so lucky to have found this DoulaMatch page; you've found an exemplary doula! Tina Browning is a walking miracle. I recommend her to everyone! Her level of grace, patience, and focus is not teachable, but heaven-sent. My son was nearly lost during a chaotic, traumatic birth, and the ONE level head in the room was Tina. Her voice was the only one I called for, the voice that helped to guide me and save my son. Her other-worldly support was vital to my son's survival, truly. I cannot say enough positve things about Tina; she is a phenomenal doula, mother, woman, and now, friend.
