Rebecca made an instant connection with my wife and me.  Her ability and knowledge were apparent in our first meeting, and demonstrated time and time again.  Helping us learn and maintain confidence through our birth process was key, and her patience and demeaner empowered us.

I cant imagine having such a beautiful birthing experience without her in the picture.

Rebecca Hughes is a wonderful doula and took great care of me, hubby, and baby! She anticipated every need and I couldn't have gotten through labor and delivery. Rebecca supported me while I labored at home and continued to do so once we got to the hospital. She was really an advocate for me and baby, especially during the pushing stage. My husband and I were so glad to have her there with us. Rebecca is a great doula and a valuable asset to have during the most important time in a mother's life. I highly recommend her!

I was really unsure about hiring a doula. One reason was because our finances were tight, and the other reason was because my fiance' didn't want anyone else in the room. I decided to have Rebecca as my doula, and she BY FAR exceeded any expectations or dreams of what I'd want in a doula. Rebecca was my saving grace during labor. I truly believe that she has made the birth of my second child the birth I truly wished for! Throughout 18 hours of unmedicated active labor, she was by my side. She helped comfort me in ways I didn't even know were possible. My fiance' now tells everyone how much help she was also! He was the biggest skeptic of hiring a doula & he now says that we will never have another child without hiring Rebecca as our doula. He was able to relax and rest for a little while when she helped me through the contractions. As my contractions got stronger and were lasting 90seconds and I thought I couldn't take anymore she helped me through them. I am not usually comfortable with other people around in such personal situations, but I never once felt uncomfortable around her. She has such a gentle soothing personality and yet so reassuring and strong! She absolutely made my birthing experience amazing. I never thought I could describe labor as peaceful. I would say that it was one of the best experiences of my life, even throughout the pains of labor. I not only gained a doula for my future pregnancies, I have gained a lifelong friend. I cannot express the gratitude I have for her! I'd never think twice about having her again as my doula!! Having her as a doula was worth any price! Even my fiance' agrees too!

My 1st contraction hit about 7:45pm Aug 17 so i called her. She offered to come out to my home then but it was still early on so she got a good nights rest and came in the morning. My contractions started getting more regular around 1:20am. As soon as she got here I calmed down and felt safe. She helped me breathe, concentrate, and focus. She turned my labor into a happy thing. She helped me rest and relax. Around 2pm we went to the hospital for them to check me and i was 4cm 70% effaced. So they let me go back home to labor more since I was going natural. Rebecca came back over a few hrs later and by that time they were coming stronger. We labored at home until they got intense and decided to go back since the hospital was a 30 min drive. So about 9pm Rebecca, my husband, my mother, and I went back. I spent hours in the room laboring with the nurses and doctors bothering me every 10 mins. I was at 6cm almost 7cm 90% effaced and couldn't get past that with them coming in there trying to force drugs and pitocin on me. Rebecca knew what I wanted and held my hand and supported my decision of no drugs. She continuously told me I am strong and I can do this. We were over halfway through. I agreed to let the doctor break my water hoping it would push things along. But they didn't tell us that once my water broke I would have to stay in bed. I had walked and birthing balled through my contractions. So she found other ways for me to labor while in the bed. The doctor came in there and basically forced pitocin on me which led to an epidural. I ended up needing an emergency csection and Rebecca and my husband were in there with me. They held my hand and kept me calm and strong until 2:31am Aug 19 when she was born. There's no way I could've done this without her. She kept me strong when I wanted to give in. She held my hand while my mom and husband slept. She was there through the full 31 hrs as my rock. I highly recommend her.

Rebecca, Nick and I enjoyed every minute of our experience with you. Knowing that we were able to call you in the middle of the night when I went into labor and you were on your way was extremely calming. The way you worked with me during labor with the birthing ball and helping relay my birth plans to my nurses was very helpful and allowed me and Nick to just concentrate on my labor and the birth of our son. My doctor and the nursing staff were very complimentary of you! They commented on how professional you were, as well as your knowledge to methods of helping through the contractions and labor pains. Nick and I both were very blessed to have you by our side during this experience. I would highly recommend you to anyone.

Thank you so much again for being by my side through it all. You and Rocky were my rock. I'm so happy to have had you. You encouraged me and helped me reach my goals I wanted for this birth. I wouldn't have changed a thing about it! You make an excellent doula! I will definately be recommending you to anyone I know pregnant.

From beginning to end, you were there for me during all three of my pregnancies and births. While my body was able to take control of the physical process of bringing my children into this world, you were at my side helping my mind and heart stay focused on what I wanted my birth experiences to be. When I was unable to speak for myself, you knew through our discussions and the creation of my birth plan what my answers would be and advocated for my wishes during those times when I was in the moment with my body. Thank you for showing me the power my body has, and informing me that mothers have more control over their experience than we are led to belief.
